Steve S Asked, Is Going to Iraq Dumb or Can Skills Protect?

So I guess the follow up question would be do you have Iraq and neighboring countries on your short list?

Then again, I know your short list is probably full with going to Guatemala, back home, possibly France to work on your French, then maybe Ukraine...?

I would consider going Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia if I had another 10,000 USD in my bank account. Iraq is not on the short list, or the long list, unless I suddenly have double, or triple the amount of income. I went to Iraq to witness the USA government in action, also believing the American people would care to read ,or hear an observers opinions. Because of going to Iraq, and Africa, I have learned people have hardwired beliefs. They have opinions about Africa that will never change, because the read, or view from a hardwired viewpoint, that only searches for confirmation to their biases I enjoy learning, thinking, and musing about enigmatic situations. I know that 99 percent or readers, viewers do not care to read, or hear opinions from me as observer. They are entertained by the way I say things, and like a twist of a phrase.

I could make a short list, which indicates I have a long list, I do not have a long list, I only have a short list of 2-5 countries. I can fly to Iceland with Wow airlines, so I guess Iceland is on my short list, along with France, Ukraine, Togo, India, Hmm, is Guatemala on the list, I guess it has already been decided? People love anticipation, as for me, I do not. I do not like to dream about countries, I think I dream about inventions, and girls. I think going to any place is enjoying a serendipity lifestyle. This is good for me, and horrible for most. Spending days thinking and planing a trip is anticipation and trying to control the future

"People love anticipation..." Over a year ago now I was like that, thinking and dreaming about where and when to go to this country or that one. Reading your answer got me thinking, a bit anyway lol, I no longer have a need or desire to live in the future or what might be. I am on the road, experiencing the now, enjoying today.

My short list is even shorter. Sunday I go to the Philippines followed by... I have no idea really. I feel like I will be there 3-4 months or so. I have spent about 5 minutes checking flights and accommodations in Ukraine but that's it. I wouldn't have even done that except my friend Andy mentioned maybe going there and I would like to visit Chernobyl sometime.

My best guess for after the Philippines is when I start getting itchy to move on, I will look at dropping by wherever you are to say hi or use the Kayak Explore feature and let cheap airfare pick a place.
