A friend of mine uses Escapees RV Club. It seems to work pretty well for her. However, she's just getting her mailed forwarded in the US. Escapees can scan your mail, so maybe you can preauthorize scanning stuff from teh VA, etc. Then they can email you the scan. BTW, you can also use Escappes RV Club as a legal domicile for your driver's license, etc. http://www.escapees.com/
There are 100's, if not 1000's of sites that advertise to do this:
I normally check the Internet "Whois" to see the age of the domain, here is the result for that.
Domain Name: ESCAPEES.COM
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.
Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
Referral URL: http://networksolutions.com
Name Server: NS39.WORLDNIC.COM
Name Server: NS40.WORLDNIC.COM
Updated Date: 04-mar-2014
Creation Date: 12-nov-1997
Expiration Date: 11-nov-2020
They are an old domain, and they are also paying ahead, not year to year, so
a longer established company.
Here is a link on our site talking more:
Scanning can be very expensive, so go slow with this, and not apples to apples, most RV people are not world travelers, they are USA only travelers. Take GREAT care, you never get a post office PO Box address, anything that says PO Box and you will have a lot of problems. In the end, one that can receive Amazon.com purchases is the final best choice.
This is one of the reason people move to one location, and are not perpetual travelers, they are controlled by the mail they want to receive. Have you called up the VA, and asked them?
Thanks, Andy in Batumi, Georgia, the country.
Jeez Andy, another thing we both have in common, I have avoided many scammers by first checking the whois database.
Coincidentally I just got one of those VA letters yesterday and made an appointment. I plan on talking to them in person when I am there in a couple weeks about email or telephone calls instead. My current lease is not up until May so I have time to figure it out, I was starting to think the heck with it because the only other mail I get is junk anyway - but, I do still have the driver's license issue (needing a residence address).
Alan thanks for the tip, Escapes looks much less expensive than the other sites I have looked at.
