Rex Sandra Evaluate Live Abroad Budget With Room Cost
Thank you for the informative video!
Rex and I have been tracking our monthly expenses since 1989 and they have been about the same whether we were living in Chicago, Seattle or Minneapolis. The only exception is that in Seattle our utility costs were much less as we did not need air conditioning (or too much heat) in comparison to the other locations.
I think our challenge will be mostly on an emotional level and honestly assessing our "tourist mentality". We love to explore new places.

The tourist industry is an insane level of temptations, and a groupthink where everyone says, "You need to see this." More or less, I saw is, so you go do it, to make validate my choices. Example. I enter the state of Michigan, I stopped at tourist center along the super highway. There was something like 8000 different brochures. I just turned around, and walked out, thinking to myself, "Michigan is a nice state, but not 8000 tourist attractions." Most countries have around 10 rather unique tourist attractions, then make restaurants tourist attractions. Temptations is the problem, i seldom pay for a tourist attraction, there is normally a cheap way.
