Becoming Dehydrated to Control Body Functions

I have never talked about this subject but have done it for years. Also reduce the amount and type of foods I eat to help reduce/eliminate "emergencies".

Like having surgery, they will not allow us to eat for 12 hours before the surgery, when causing trauma to the body by vibrating in a car, bus, train, plane, best to slow down all the body functions. Finding a toilet can be an act of God in many countries, and this alone, peope with weak bladders often rent cars, not willing to admit, they need to urinate every 30-60 minutes and cannot ride a bus. How did I feel, weaker, dehydrated, but not embarrassed to make the driver stop the car, and me stand along side the road and defecate. 12 hours in a car, motorcycle is something I can do, even at age 59. Travel is being willing to be uncomfortalbe for long periods of time, to reach the top of the mountain, this is the cost I pay to see the wonders of the planet, if you are not uncomfortable, then maybe not far from home.

This makes sense, like perhaps fasting the day before a flight overseas and skip that cup of coffee in the morning. In the heat though, don't you need to look out for heat stoke? Doesn't getting dehydrated cause one's blood to thicken?

At least in an emergency one can defecate along the road in a 3rd world country. God forbid if one gets caught just urinating in public in the US because then they might end up having to wear an ankle bracelet for the rest of their life. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and this place is in total lock down. No rest stops, no turn outs, no truck stops. I got stuck in traffic on one of the bridges and in desperation I had to throw open the passenger side doors for cover to pee right on the road. Many retail businesses and fast food restaurants keep their bathroom doors locked 24/7. One is lucky to even find parking (that usually costs money) in their quest to find a restroom. The SF Bay Area is a harsh, inhumane place. It is illegal for anyone to camp even on private property or to sleep anywhere outside including in one's car.

Limiting food and water intake makes an overall better travel experience for me. This does not mean eliminating food and water, like most things taken to an extreme will cause problems.
