Are Travelers or Expats Required to Sign Up for Obamacare, And Pay, Even When Outside Country?
Americans who are NOT residents of the USA, do NOT have to participate if you meet the requirements of being a resident of another country (or if you are outside the USA for 330 days or more per year).
I listen to Norwegians talk about healthcare with envy. American is the place people go, when they want to be the best on the planet, it is where the competition is fierce to succeed, yet, the masses really just want to have a nice day, and not worry about getting sick. I do not have health insurance, and the only time I am afraid, is when I am in the USA, I know I cannot afford the Doctors there.
awesome * wow
I am grateful to the USA for making me aware of sources of knowledge, most people here in Africa have never heard of Wikipedia. Adapting means we can choose, we can now optimize our lifestyle on a global level, we can move about to places better suited for our needs. For example, I am thinking about getting a tooth implant in Thailand, buying a guitar in Colombia, and making a pile of cash sending containers of goods o Amazon.com from Togo, West Africa, we can move to better markets, instead of waiting. The USA is only good for extreme medical problems, not for normal ones.
Very important and huge topic, Andy. And one that obviously is a concern to all of us, especially if we travel or plan to travel in some small measure compared to what you do. Thanks for digging into it.
Hopefully that law is extracted soon.
