An Intellectual Reason to Stop Gossip
Gossip. Your videos seem to wake up sometimes, what often is asleep (and available) in me. This is another one of those. Impressions others form about us, being linked to our words. My/our habits of word choice and sentiments seem to linger, even in the face of results I/ we don't like. It is both an operational and philosophical question why I/we persist. Isn't gossip (often) an exporting of internal discontent? That seems to apply to me when I resort to it....often just venting of frustration. The thought about putting someone down (reduce their implied importance) to elevate your own position (sense of importance), as a Darwinian adaptation makes sense. So, Andy, it shows weakness, often undermines our credibility and relationships, yet the collective 'we' maintain it. I wonder if there is other uses for gossip as a social transmission vehicle. Philo. question: If words are so important, why aren't we doing a better job delivering them?
Hello Ryk, I granted you super powers on the HoboTraveler.com site. All Hobo verified members of HoboTraveler.com can write articles on this site, and often edit. Many members already have it, Ed, Jeff, Marcos, and most anyone that request them, providing they are vetted by Andrew or me, Andy. Why? What is a writer, it is a person who wants to take a confusing concept, and share it with others in words. The process of writing helps the writer to understand himself, or herself. Writing an article is a great experience, putting it on the table for the world to read helps us to discover ourselves. If you want, write me with a topic, and we can start the title, and help you, it is easy. Thanks, Andy Lee Graham
