An Easy Travel Quiz on Choosing Taxis for Readers
So no one will know where you are staying?
You crossed the road to catch drivers going the direction you want to travel in. Right?
Maybe there are a lot of people around and less chance of a mishap on a main drag? Plus you're going in the direction you want to go so would be cheaper in the long run?
Better rate if they are going that way and in some places less chance of a set up.
I'll go with Lawrence's answer.
Because you've prearranged via cell phone with a certain motorcylce taxi dude, like your private chauffeur to pick you up at a predetermined spot on the road.
Toos Answers Best - He said, "You crossed the road to catch drivers going the direction you want to travel in. Right?" Yes, that is right, but the motivation is so I can cross the road on foot, choose when I cross, and not allow a Taxi to cross traffic. I consider intersections very dangerous, and sometimes on Moto taxis, I even get off, walk across, and get back on the same taxi. Foresigh anticiplation in countries like this is horrible, they will pull out in front of cars. The do not count on the fact, that is their taxi stall for any reason we would be hit. Plus, in about 170 countries, they always look at corners a yield signs and refuse to ever stop. Here, they will actually turn and drive down the road the wrong way, then cross over to avoid coming to a dead stop. Mostly, I do it for safety, but to make any taxi do a U-turn is not saavy. Thanks.
