Baggage Rapid Transfer Travel Tip
Request a rapid transfer tag, if you need a rapid transfer, if nothing else it is best to keep the workers airline check in counters thinking.

My Qatar Airlines flight from Kenya to Thailand had a 45-minute layover in Doha, Qatar. I asked two travel agents, the one in Kenya and my friend Jeroen here on Khao San Road.

I said,
“There is only a 45 minute layover.”

I guess I said it wrong, they both said,
“If for some reason you miss the flight, they will put you on another flight, do not worry.”
I replied,
“I am not the least bit worried about my body, I am not sure my luggage will arrive at the same time as me.”

Contrary to any belief you have, not all luggage is later delivered to you Hotel on International flights.

Qatar put these “Rapid Transfer” tags on my bags, the bags were managed great, they arrived with my body.

I never thought about this tag, however, I will not forget, and when there are questionable layover problems, I will see if they will prioritize my bags.

I have needed to return to pick up a bag in:

Acapulco, Mexico
Cusco, Peru
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Istanbul, Turkey… the bag was damaged.

On the other hand, I went through the Tokyo, Japan airport in 20 minutes and the bag arrive with my body. The USA will deliver the bag, however the USA has the most problems.

You body will always arrive with your body, however when luggage arrives late the problem can last for days.
