Womentravel Safety - Tips
Name: Leah (...)
I am a 20 year old female from Oregon and have plans to travel in Nepal
for 7-8 months (leaving April-ish). Part of the time I will be staying
with a host family and working in a hospital, the rest of the time I
have no concrete plans. My question is regarding safety for an extended
visit. First of all, is it safe to travel in Nepal as a young, solo,
American female? I have read several warnings (especially aimed at
women) against Nepal travel. What is your opinion on this matter?

I would say yes, many single women here, and easy to find people traveling the same places. Of course the normal problems if you drink too much, smoke too much or stay out after 12 at night, then anywhere becomes a problem.
Start slow, beware of Nepali men who want to show you everything, better to hand with women until you figure out the extent of their lies.
Americans are soft targets, they trust too much, Nepali people can lie about anything at anytime, it is just the culture, and they know you trust.
Do not trust them, and anything on price is always a problem.
