Day 024 Sterling Colorado for my friend Jeff --Travelin Man by Bob Seger

I enter Colorado on highway 6 just as the sun came up, and thought about my friend Jeff K. a.k.a. the Chetster and Spring Break to Florida.

"Up with the sun, gone with the wind"
--- Bob Seger

This one is for my good friend Jeff K. a.k.a the Chetster.

I entered Colorado at sunrise on highway 6, a two lane highway.

"Life is good Jeff,:
I hope you remember leaving Bloomington, University early with Bob Seger singing "Travelin Man" over the Maggie Van I speakers.

It was an omen, just as I left Indiana and crossed the into Illinois Travelin Man came on the radio.

Thank the good Gods, I am lucky man...

Travelin Man Lyrics

Up with the sun, gone with the wind
She always said I was lazy
Leavin' my home, leavin' my friends
Runnin' when things get too crazy
Out to the road, out 'neath the stars
Feelin' the breeze, passin' the cars

Women have come, women have gone
Everyone tryin' to cage me
Oh, some were so sweet, I barely got free
Others they only enrage me
Sometimes at night, I see their faces
I feel the traces they've left on my soul
Those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
Those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul

Travelin' man, love when I can
Turn in my hand 'cause I'm goin' on
Oh, travelin' man, love when I can
But sooner or later I'm goin' on, yea
Travelin man

Sometimes at night, I see their faces
I feel the traces they've left on my soul
But those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
I tell you those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul
Travelin' man, yea

Eagles - Take It Easy

Well, I'm running down the road
tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind,
Four that wanna own me,
Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine,
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
Drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy

Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow Arizona
I'm such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
take it easy..."Alright"

Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen
my load, got a world of trouble on my mind
lookin' for a lover who won't blow my
cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy,
come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Oh well you know we got it easy
We oughta take it easy, yeah

I at age 21-22 I traveled across the USA with Maggie Van II, a Ford Econoline I overhauled and outfitted for travel.

I went to;
"Winslow Arizona

--- and stood on the corner because of this song.

Take easy, life is a game, and the loser become the game, plan your own path and follow it.

Andy Lee Graham.

I will roll on south toward something, I need to be in Keystone, Colorado on the 15 of June for a Travel Bloggers convention. Being, I have not had many appointments in 14 years, I got nervous like my father and need to arrive early.

8 days early means nothing to a travelin man.

Time has no mean, and I am grateful again to the good Gods.

Maggie Van II

Maggie Van II in Colorado, recording a video of a funny Speed Trap Sign.

The Maggie Van I was named after the lyrics from this song by Rod Stewart called Maggie May.

Maggie
"I couldn't have tried anymore.
You lured me away from home
just to save you from being alone.

Welcome to my world, a life less normal, and life is good.
