TODAY’S TRAVEL TIP

How to make a telephone call?

Sounds simple, and most people you will meet, will probably
say that this is not a problem.

But if you told someone,
“I will call you Monday, at 2:00”
Could you do it? From South America, or anywhere in the
world.

Directions:

Day 1: Collect time zone information, telephone number, country code
and email them to tell them you are calling.
Find the place to make the call. This sounds funny, but
this will usually take a day.
Read though the list below of considerations.

Day 2: Give up. Email them. No make the call. But do
collect the information the day before. If you really have
to make a call.
aaagh. I hate calling people. Even locally. It is easier to
go home, or walk to their hotel.

THE BEST SYSTEMS:
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE THE CALL
IN ORDER OF PRIORITY:

1. Live in an 100 dollars a night hotel...get connect with the operator.
2. Email them, and have them call you at your hotel.
3. Go to a telephone companies public calling center.
i.e. The telephone company in most Central and South American
cities have buildings, or offices where you can call, and pay after
the call is done.
4. Net2phone.com PAY high tariff, but the call goes through.
The internet cafe has to have a credit card on file, to make these
types of calls.

cost double.
