~ HOBO STEW (A Dish of Meat and Vegetables)

BARCELONA, SPAIN

I am learning. I am slow, but steady.
The fact that there are two types of lives,
the nightlife and the day life just became aware to me.
It seems strange that I could talk and think
about nightlife and never really think of it as
a way of life. There are shows, vampires, and
people that run or stalk in the night. All sorts of
allusions to the night. But to me, I never thought of
it as nightlife. Only as people that stay up late,
and in some countries all night.

I am living in an apartment that I share for
a couple more weeks with 3 other people.
The live at night and I live by the day.
I go to the beach when they are returning home.

This nightlife thing I learned because of a few
conversations and attempts on their part to convert
me to living at night. It is difficult in most countries
to live at night. There is no sun light. People rise with the
sun and sleep after the sunset. So for me as a traveler
I have learned that it is better to sleep when the sun
disappears. This is really difficult for most travelers
and they go a little mad, and get mad when there
is no nightlife. But to enjoy the remote areas of the
world like the Amazon River or even my trip to Iraq,
it is better I sleep in the night and walk in the light
of day. It is safer and maybe more natural.

I wonder if them people that are against the GM
(Genetically Manufactured) food know that it is
more natural to sleep at night?

But Barcelona is a balance between night and day.
A large city with lots of nightlife... ( I think ) and
a great place to walk around on the beach and
boulevards during the day and have a day life.
A great tourist place needs both. I think in Paris
I was having trouble finding the day life. After you
look at the 40th statue, what do you look at?

I will soon leave I hope for Portugal. Find some
more beach life. Ooops. There are so many types
of lives I cannot remember which one to live.

TRAVEL INSURANCE - Insure And Go!
http://www.insureandgo.com

-------------------------------------------------------------

~   Hoboguide.com GO THIS WAY!

PARIS, FRANCE

The former epicentre culturally of the white people.
It is on the top of the faults or middle of everything
that quakes and wiggle in the so called
"Western World."

PARIS IS THE OLD WORLD

A historical and cultural charmer.
The link between the New World and the
Old world. It is the center where people stop
talking English and start talking another.
France and Paris is for me a border town.

WHAT IS PARIS?

It is a place to visit.
A place of culture, sophistication, and conflict.
For people that wish to remember the past and to
learn who they have become or return to the way
the were. You can cross the border and return
to the Old World.

Many people dream of France and Europe.
They wish to find themselves. So travel and Paris
is a great place to start. You can meet the world
and decide by comparison who you are, and who
you are not. Are you a King or are you a Peasant?

Culture is an enigma. Paris is a piece of the puzzle.
You need this piece of the puzzle to complete
the story. But please, it is just one piece of the puzzle,
not any more important or less important then
another piece. The Amazon River is an important
piece and maybe more...

Paris is beautiful A city on the Seine River
with Palaces, Statues, and monuments to
celebrate the Kings, Queens, and Peasants
of the world. Whether to learn how they stormed
the Bastille and planted a seed of democracy
or retained a castle for when the King returns.

Paris is the middle of the fight over the free world.
In the game of Chess it is the
Bishop you cannot trade for a Knight.

Go to Paris.
Maybe you find what you are looking for?
Maybe not.

~ TODAY’S TRAVEL TIPS

VACATION OR TOUR?

Do you want to go on vacation?
Do you want to go on a tour?

When you stop working for a few days
and steal a little time from yourself and
your captors you may find yourself in a
strange situation.

People should ask themselves,
"If I do not work, what would I do?"

Retirement is suppose to be something good.
I am not sure this is correct. People need
to have something to think about and to do on
a daily basis, and having the boss tell you what to
do makes life easier. Most people work for a
company or a person that tells them what to do.
They are "institutionalized," and do not feel comfortable
unless they are working and complaining about the boss.

Would you know what to do, if you did not work?
I am sure you are saying to yourself,
"Yes."
But I think,
"No."

A vacation, tour, or travel is like an early retirement.
But people are often relieved to return to work.
They know what to expect at work and they relax.

Although most of you will say you are overworked.
I would say most of you are over bored. Too much
boredom at work, and too much busy, and too much.

A vacation to me is about doing nothing.
It is for the over worked.
On holiday.

A tour is about going places and seeing things.
It is about thinking more.
It is for the over bored. (Too much boredom.)
A tourist.

Just a little thought to help you plan your
next escape from yourself or your captors.

Just another day in Paradise!
PLAN YOUR ESCAPE...
Be a Hobo, and leave your mark.

Fun tips - Here's a little tip from me, to you,

The dress code is very lax.

~ HOBO QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

RE: knives...

I had my swiss army knife confiscated while boarding
a domestic flight from Bombay to Udaipur, India... fyi...
they were also the only airport that
wouldn't hand-check my film, and after an hour of fighting, forced me
to put it through the x-ray machine.

On that trip I went through LAX, and Hong Kong airports
too, and found Bombay to be the toughest security-wise
by far. And this was in Nov 2001, just 2 months after WTC...

India is awesome though, have fun
(if you're still planning to go, that  is)

Wes O

Re: Knives in airports

I was in Lima taking a flight to Iquitos in June. In my
carry-on I had a "Leatherman" type utility tool that
I did not even know was in there. The security at
the airport spotted the tool using the x-ray machine and
told me I would not be able to bring it on the flight.
They then gave me a form to fill out so that I could
retrieve the knife at a later date. No problem.....
on my return the tool was waiting for me at the airport.

Bill D

ANSWER: hmm OK. People put the knife in your
checked bag. The bad part is that these countries
are not Europe or USA. Although India doe have
a problem. But they really do not check the way they
should.

QUESTION:
Many people complain about President Bush because
we are in Iraq. Do you think democracies have a more
difficult time than  dictatorships in mobilizing resources
for their defense?? I am wondering if the only way
you can persuade citizens it is a good idea is when
they fear losing national survival, such as Sept 11th
or World War 2. I feel the democratic system is the
best because  it allows us to develop as  individuals
and it is a more humane form of governing. However,
do you think our leaders  need to look at the situation
more realistically  because people are not very willing
to sacrifice in order to preserve our way of living. Because
we are free they complain and demonstrate a lot. What
can be done to wake  the people of the USA up and
inspire them to offers suggestions of help instead of
screaming Get Rid Of Bush because he is spending
our money? Never mind the fact he is doing his best to
see the people of this great nation remain safe and free
from terrorists. This is just one of the questions floating
around in my head and I cannot get anyone to discuss
it with me. Love and  Prayers
Mom

ANSWER:
No democracies do better. If not then Hitler would
have won in World War II.

The screaming and noise people make is just
normal democracy. The television, newspapers
and all the press is making this a bigger problem
then it should need to be, but in the end a good idea
that can survive the torment and torture of the world
press and people is probably and excellent idea.

The big problem for the world of television sales is
that it is easier to sell hate then happiness. People
will buy hate before they will buy optimisim.

Do not worry. The world is a lot safer every year.
100 years ago the problems were 10 time worse.
But out of the press and out of mind. No one can
remember history. What is great now is that
people have more time to complain because they
do not work that hard.
