BAGHDAD, IRAQ - THE TERROR CLUB

Hello. I wish I was in Baghdad.
I am waiting to leave. But want to get this out
before I enter more complicated situations.
I am waiting for the fighting to stop in Kirkuk.

BAGHDAD
The new member of the terror club.
The places that terrorist are willing to
destroy to support their cause.

PUTTING TOGETHER THE PUZZLE
This whole terror thing is baffling to me.
But I think I got a grip on this now.

They do not like Saddam.
They hate the Israel People.
They love the USA.
They hate the USA.
The Islamic culture has a quirk in the head.
The can support to opposite ideas at
the same time. A duality of thought.
First time I have encountered this type
of brain waves. Most of you think the world
believe in justice, fair play, and all that.
This is not true. People do think different.
Remember me explaining Manana!

I am in the territory of the enemy.
They love the USA for helping to remove
Saddam the Hitler of Iraq.
But hate anyone that helps the Israel
people. The minute they feel safe from
Saddam they will return to their Jihad
war against any non-Islamic person.

This is the classical History Lesson.
Hitler used the Jewish people as the common
enemy, and the Islamic community is using
the Jewish people as the common enemy.
This would be great fun to watch if they did
not take themselves so serious and want to kill
ME.. Andy HoboTraveler.com
United Nations, and anyone else in their sights.

HISTORY AND TRAVEL
The general advice on travel is to never
talk about religion or politics.
Good advice to stay safe.

This is not how I like to live.
Keep your mouth shut.
Do not talk, and especially do not tell
the truth as to what you think.
See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil.

I would get emotionally constipated.
Those emotional vampires would steal
my life blood. The energy and hope of a
free world expressed as this noise.

2 MONTHS AT A TIME
I have no desire to listen to this crap for
more then 2 months. I am ready for a culture
change, and truthfully, as best I can understand
being from the USA and a Christian makes me
by default the Enemy of the Islamic world.
I could make it sound ambiguous. But when
they declare Jihad on me, I am at war by default.
I get very angry at racism. It is the right of any
people to exist and live. This is the normal
person in the streets opinion as best I can feel
and understand in the Islamic countries.
They want to kill all the Jewish people.

PARIS! To the 2nd enemy.
Whoopee. I am going to Paris.
I feel like a traitor.
But I had an offer I could not refuse.
To visit a friend. Most of the time a Hobo
will say and do what is necessary to have
a free flop for a night. The Hoboes of the past
and present often believe they should shine a
preacher or nice person on to get a handout.
Plus France is just misguided. I am sure they
will need a 20-1 ratio to keep me silent.

This is not something I like about Hoboes.
So my friend will have to listen to my true
opinions and still help me to live cheap.

ON THE PATH TO INDIA
So the time has come to leave enemy territory.
I am not sure how to travel to India.
There is 4 possible ways.

1. Airplane. Easy and quick.
2. By land across all the "Stens" of old Soviet
Union.
3. Back through Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, etc.
4. Down to Kuwait, and take a boat to India.
All these are good, and I think in the end.
I will do them all.

I will change my mind right up to the moment
the decision is made. This is the great thing
about travel. I am still reading up on Marco Polo
and wanting to repeat his trip.

Visas are a big problem. Not for Marco, but for me.
If you have a clear understanding of a land route
to Southeast Asia. Please write.

I HOPE BAGHDAD IS NOT LIKE MOSUL
(The same but a little less)

Mosul is a great place. But it can be too much
at times. The people want you to talk too much.
It must be how a Rock Star or a Movie Star feels.
Like everyone wants a piece of you.
I am hoping that Baghdad does not turn out this
way, because there is still those crazies in the crowd
so difficult to see everyone and pass judgment or
inspect them when they surround you.

Kurdistan is easier. They do not want to talk to an
American that much. So more relaxed. The will if
I allow them, but the Mosul people are overwhelmingly
too friendly. Hard to believe I am saying this, but
there can be a thing as too much attention.

I tried to buy another pair of pants since KLM lost my
bag... (They have not replaced or paid for it. I am told
I can only collect in Istanbul.) ... and now I only have one
pair of long pants and a few shorts. Shorts are not much
good in this country. The lower socially developed countries
have a real problem with shorts. I have a problem with dresses
on men, but I understand. Well, so to finish the story I was
not able to buy any pants because of just too much time
stopping and talking in Mosul. How do you shop when everyone
wants more to talk.

I will eventually accomplish this goal. I am lucky
that hand washed clothes in this heat will dry in 2 hours.
I almost always wash my clothes by hand myself.

BLOG DOES WELL
My log of my adventure seems to be a hit.
It is funny how the stupid and easy can do well.
This is just me rambling and people like it.

I am writing this to save USA Soldiers Lives.
Please forward to anyone that can help.
This is real. Please.

ELECTRICITY OF THE WORLD
How to cause a riot in a country!

My first run in with Electricity and the world was
in Pie De La Cuesta, Mexico. Tommy the nickname
for the Mexican right hand man of Stanley was trying
to say that a big meter would use less energy then
a small meter. The silly part was the number of people
that somehow thought this was logical.

Hmmm. Because a electrical meter is small.
It spins faster and will cost you more.
A big meter spins slower and cost you less.

The whole discussion was fun and ludicrous.
But the intent was clear. They wanted to somehow
short or cheat the electric company. I did not see
why this was important. They had to pay a monthly
bribe to the meter man anyway, so the concept was
just a comedy of errors.

I TRIED TO HELP
The system in most of the world is to have an electric
meter embedded in the concrete. As the lead wire enters
the concrete the wire is split. A small percentage
of the room or hotel is on the meter. The rest is on the
bypass wire. I was tried to explain to Stan how to
steal electricity better then worrying about a meter.
The big problem was that everyone
did not understand electricity and was afraid.
If you want to do a job. Do it right.

SO HERE I AM!
Conspiracy to steal electricity.
Ok. It was not only me. I did not  own the property.
But... Everyone in Mexico steal electricity.
Corruption is an institutionally accepted things.
I admit it. I conspired to cheat the government of
Mexico. It would be very hard to make feel guilty
on this issue.

OUTSIDE THE CITIES
You could see the multiple wires enter or connect
on the electrical wire that passed the house.
This was the easier way. Just pay the bribe,
and be quiet. No meter.

PROTEST IN LA PAZ, BOLIVIA
The Bolivians privatized the electricity.
The Germans got the contract.
Swastikas, and protest. Anti-German protest.

WHAT THOSE NAZI GERMANS DO?
They made an honest system.
Now people that had never paid for electricity
in their lives would need to pay.
The Germans did the right thing, and took the
blame for doing a good job.

Well. This is worldwide. I often take photos.

IRAQ - ELECTRICITY
What's his name? Paul Bremer.
Warning! Warning! Warning!
They will riot in the street if you create an
honest system and make these people pay.

(Note: This newsletter is automatically dated
and placed in the Topica.com Archives. I cannot
alter.. My record on this statement.)

THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SUCKED BEFORE
AND IT SUCKS NOW.. IRAQ

What do you think. They could go to Saddam
and complain. That was suicide.

The real danger in life is water.
No one wants to talk about this.
The water is great in Iraq.
They even have water fountains.

I have taken photos of electricity in 3 cities.
Dohuk - Mosul - and Arbil.
Dohuk and Arbil are in Kurdistan and not bombed.
Mosul is in the Saddam part and bombed.
Kurdistan was not really under Sanctions.
Mosul was under Sanctions.

BEING SOLD A BILL OF GOODS
That is colloquialism in English for when a person
tries to convince you to believe something that
is a crock. This electricity thing so far is one
of them.

OK - THEY STILL NEED ELECTRICITY FIXED.

It is Iraq's people fault, and Saddams fault the electricity is
bad, but the USA can fix it. No problem. Normal.

FILTER DOWN SYSTEM FOR THE OIL MONEY
Give the people free electricity.
Give the people free pension plan.

But do NOT for any reason give them an electric meter.
These people will RIOT.

They like there system of stealing electricity.
Take it away and we risk another
war from the normal person.
I saw the protest in Bolivia! This is real.

So listen Paul Bremer.
I had a General Contractors License in the USA.
I have been to 48 countries in 7 years.
They all steal electricity. Give Iraq free electricity
with all that oil money and a pension to boot or
you will have country wide riots.

Here are some links of the wire system in
Iraq. I have added a lot of extra commentaries
to explain. Please take this serious. I do not
want one USA Soldier killed for something
as of little real value as electricity in a very oil
rich country.

THE SOLUTION:
Use the oil money to give them free electricity.

Look at real photos.

~ TODAYS TRAVEL TIPS

Unfortunately the bombing of the UN building
in Baghdad and a few other current events
justify and prove these ideas. In your country
you are poor. In another country you are rich.
The world is about class system anger, just
because you think you love them, does not mean
they love you back. You can have an enemy
and have nothing to do with the problem.

TRAVEL SAFETY ILLUSIONS
Here is a list of illusions perpetuated in the
name of selling hotel rooms and tours.
The solution to being safe is to not become
a the rich person target.

1. EXPENSIVE HOTELS ARE SAFE.
This is at the top of the list. This is stupid.
It may be safer from getting robbed, but you are
on the top of list of getting Killed.
"The world is about rich against poor."
Be a normal person, living in normal places.
Being first class, will guarantee you to be first
to be kidnapped, robbed, or killed.

2. ISLAMIC PEOPLE ARE NOT AFTER YOU.
Yes you are correct. Most are not.
But do you know which ones.
Any travel in a Islamic nation is more dangerous
then a non Islamic nation. There is a declare
war on you. It is called Jihad. Do not be delusional.
This is dangerous.

3. A RENTAL CAR IS GOOD
This is the best way to allow the thieves, corrupt
police, and the whole world to isolate you.
There are multiple bombing of cars. The bus type
bomb only happens in Israel. The normal person
only wants to kill the enemy. A rental car isolates
and help them kill only you..

4. A GUIDE WILL KEEP YOU SAFE.
1-50 maybe. Look for a guide for information.
If you are looking for a guide for safety.
Probably best to not go, unless you can be your
own guide.

5. THE EMBASSY HAS A CLUE
Do not believe the best advice is from your
embassy. These people live in safe caves
and not with the people. Information from
them is very suspect.

6. POOR PEOPLE ARE GOOD
This is one of the most dangerous concepts that
is believed in the world. The normal person is
poor because they are lazy. If the whole country
is very very poor. That is different.

7. PAYING MORE MONEY WILL KEEP YOU SAFE.
TIPS, BONUS, ETC.
The criminals all group around the expensive hotels.
The Taxi driver that wants to cheat the person.
The Tour operator that wants easy money.
I understand easy money, but the good person
in the world is not happy making a living by trying to
get money for nothing. A good person will keep you
safe for free, and does not want money. They feel
it to be their personal responsibility as a human.
Look for good people. You cannot buy this.

8. YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH TO AVOID DANGER.
Brains does help, but it is not going to stop all danger.
Minimize yes.

9. THE KILLERS ONLY WANT AMERICANS
I love to listen to the Europeans. They are by
default Americans in another country. They are the
blood and the genetics of Americans. All western
countries look the same to another country.

10. CAR CONVOYS ARE SAFE
I will thank the UN again. Someone is the target.
If you are the target. It is not me. A convoy only
guarantees that people have a clear target.

11. TRANSLATORS WILL SAVE YOU MONEY
AND KEEP YOU SAFE.
You will learn only what they want to tell you.
Normally you will pay triple or more.
Safety is not about language skills.

12. IF YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT RELIGION
AND POLITICS YOU ARE SAFE.
This will minimize your risk. But the person
talking with you is probably not going to kill you.
It is the person that sits back and fumes.
Full of anger and resentment because you fit
the stereotype of who they want to kill.

13. GUNS WILL PROTECT.
A person that is protected by a gun.
Probably needs protected and would appear important.
Are you that important. So why tell anyone you
are, and become a target.

14. LYING WILL PROTECT YOU.
Tell them you are from Canada.
Tell them you are Muslim.
I remember an Israel girl in southern Thailand
saying she was from India.
If you get caught. The will not trust you on
anything and you could triple your danger.
Then they could to jump to even worst conclusions.
You are a spy, etc.

15. STAYING IN ONE LOCATION IS GOOD.
After about 10-50 days according to the country
people start to wonder why you are there?
The gossip starts, and can go any way it wishes.
You cannot stop gossip. It is dangerous.

16. THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN ROBBED.
A tour operator. A country. A person says,
"We have never had a problem, or... etc. etc."
I have problems on a weekly basis.
I have been robbed one time in 7 years.
For those of you that have read this newsletter for
a few years you may remember this and how I discussed
it in the tips and newsletter. If you hear a person say,
"We have never had a problem."
They are a liar and you should not trust them.
It is not natural to have no problem.
Especially in a hotel.

17. MONEY BELTS WILL PROTECT YOUR MONEY.
Everyone know you have one. It just slows them down.
I recommend a money belt or better yet my secret pockets
but they only slow down the robber.

Try to be so normal that you are not notices.
Live in a normal place, and drive a normal car.
Dress normal for the country.

I wish I could just tell you simple solutions to
being safe. Safety is lots of issues wrapped up
in a varied and complex package. One time
what is correct is wrong, the next time the opposite
is true. The correct answer always is changing.

Travel safety is about wisdom and empathy.
The wisdom to recognize the truth.
The empathy to find the truth.
Know your enemy and accept that anyone
could be your enemy. But smile at everyone
and you will be protected and helped by your
friends.

Just another day in Paradise!
PLAN YOUR ESCAPE...
Be a Hobo, and leave your mark.
