Living the definition of a hobo.

HOBO: One who wanders randomly from place to place looking
for temporary homes, and jobs

Recent travel from place to place.
This has lead me to various places.

I have been to
Boston, Massachusetts
Miami, Florida
Fort Wayne, Indiana

Then what happened? I am now in Rio Gallegos, Argentina.
Very cold, and much too close to the south pole.
The empanadas Argentina are great. I have learned how to buy them
by the dozen. They even sell them at the grocery store. I am going
to get a lesson next week on how to cook them. There is a
sauce called ( ahi’ )   I am quite confused on where it comes from?
The have it in Northern Argentina, Bolvia and in Ecuador, and I am sure
in other countries. I definitely recommend this. I had my first Epanada in
Otavalo, Ecuador. at a place called EMPANADAS ARGENTINA. If you
go to Otavalo, Ecuador. I HIGHLY recommend that place, and note they have
ahi´

I like to wonder from place to place with no specific plans. Although more
expensive than having exact plans. My guess is about 50 percent of
all travelers change, or try to change their airplane tickets leaving date, or
destination. Some places I never want to leave, and other places I can
not leave fast enough. I dream of being able to buy cheap airplane tickets
from any place in the world.

I use the internet more than a normal person, and believe that I have
a better than normal understanding of how to find information.
I have been searching for airplane tickets now for about 4 months.
First to leave Brazil, and then travel to Argentina, and my next
destination Europe.

I have decided that I am either quite stupid, or it is very
difficult to buy CHEAP airplane tickets on the internet.
It is VERY EASY to buy published price tickets.

I am working on finding the answers

Maybe it will help you to...

~   EXTREME hobo ADVENTURE
I helped David Clark with the ropes going through the Panama Canal
He is TRYING to set a world record, by being the oldest person to sail
around the world solo. I will give updates until he arrives.
His boat SANK,
The story continues....
77 years old.

FOUND A BOAT....

Last UPDATE dated MAY 13,

Greetings Sponsors & Supporters of David and "Mickey"
They are nearing Ascension Island. When we spoke via ham radio
patch yesterday (Saturday) David reported that he was at 10.25 S and 10.34 W,
making about 5-6 knots and would probably arrive on Tuesday.

We do not have a contact person in Ascension. When David nears the port,
he will call on his VHF radio regarding checking in with customs, etc.
Although there was a water taxi in St Helena, without a dinghy he will not
be able to get ashore at Ascension unless someone is willing to transport
him to and from the boat.   David will be celebrating his 77th birthday at
Ascension Island and the best present he could possibly get will be the
replacement autopilot provided by Raymarine (this means that David
will not have to stay at the tiller during those times he is under power);
they have once again come through to help David finish this world record goal.
We want to give Suzanne Hawley and Raymarine our sincere thanks for all the
support they have given David with their outstanding equipment.

Ascension Island has a cam recorder mounted at the Pierhead which records
live photos every 10 minutes and archives 30 minutes of pictures.
If we check at the correct time, we may see David coming into the port.

~ TODAY’S TRAVEL TIPS

What is a CHEAP Airfare?

aaaagh.... If one more person tells me how easy it is to find cheap
airplane tickets on the internet I will explode!!!!!
It’s NOT that easy!!!

What is a CHEAP Airfare?

To know what is a CHEAP airfare, we need to know
what is NOT a cheap airfare.

Published Airfares are NOT cheap.

What are published airfares?
a. Prices you get from Airlines
b. Prices you get from Travel Agents
c. Prices you get when doing a Internet Search.

These prices are published by the airlines.

Published airfares vary greatly from between different
Airlines and different dates. If you change anything, then the price
changes. It you ask the next day, the price may, or will be
different.

I have 4 separate ways to learn what a good price is, or IS NOT.

1st: INTERNET SEARCH
http://www.travelocity.com/
http://www.expedia.com/
http://www.onetravel.com/

2nd: BEST ADVERTISED PRICE:
Get the travel section in out of the Sunday newspaper of a LARGE CITY.
You can find these papers for free at a lot of libraries or in newsstands.
There is usually a section devoted to cheap airfares.

3rd: INTERNET NEWSLETTERS
I recommend you subscribe to newsletters. This may
be more difficult for some countries.
Here are 4 for the USA:
Go to the page to subscribe
http://www.smarterliving.com/
http://www.bestfares.com/
http://www.travelzoo.com/
http://www.frommers.com/

If you wish to recommend a newsletter for other countries.
http://www.hobotraveler.com/formlettereditor1.php

4th: TRAVEL AGENCY
I ask 3 travel agencies.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

2 major reason why people do not get good airfares.

~ I HAVE A FRIEND PROBLEM.
I have a good friend that helps me
that works at.....blah blah blah ...
This could be good, but normally NO.

~ BAD MEMORY, or DISORGANIZED
After talking to different people they have a pile of notes. None
of them complete, and they are just plain confused.

The solution
WORKSHEET
Go to this page and print so you stay organized:
worksheet.html

These prices change constantly, If you change any information.
Leaving date, or day of the week, or Return Date
But also when you ask. The prices will vary everyday you ask.
You very seldom will get the same price 2 days in a row.

Be CAREFUL They will advertise
“Guranteed lowest fare”
This probably means the lowest published fare.

OK>>> STOP

THESE ARE NOT CHEAP AIRFARES. (some could be)

If you looked in the Sunday section of the large city newspaper.
Then you probably are the best bet.

I am not explaining here, How to buy a cheap ticket.
I am explaining what is a cheap ticket.
After all this research you will know what a cheap ticket is.

The next few newsletters will help you buy airfare for half of what
the travel agents say.
