I am Surrounded by People in the Dominican Republic Searching for Love

Here in Sosua, Dominican Republic they give money for love, it seems like a good way to prove you love someone, money can buy love.

I travel the planet searching for friends, and I hope that sounds hokey to you, because it is cliche, it should sound silly to you, because it is a rather a simpleton way of looking at things. However, the the truth is, my primary goal of traveling the planet really is to search for friends, but it is not friends I want, I want the benefits of having friends.

Hmm, what are the benefits of having friends?

1. Sharing coffee together and not drinking it alone.

2. When I am thinking about something, a friend gives me a different point of view, and leads me to better understand the world.

Having Friends is Easy, if you "Talk."

I am grateful I read the book, "How to Win Friends & Influence People," by Dale Carnegie when I was around 24 years old, because I have been able to use the knowlege now for 36 years, I am age 56.

I wrote, "If you listen," then change it to talk, because you truly do not need to listen well, it is not the essential way of making friends, it is just the start, what the book revealed to me was simple.

To make Friends:

1. Listen

2. Agree (You can agree, and not listen, works the same.)

3. Say yes, you are right.

4. Say the persons name, and look at the person.

What I have learned and added to the "Say-Their-Name-System."

If you agree, and repeat the persons name, often, loud, and in a personal and real way, you will have tons of people want to be close to you. I am going to to call that the "Say-Their-Name-System." it is too bloody simple.

And, I achieve the primary benefits of having friends, I do not have to drink coffee alone.

I now listen, and try to help my friend to achieve their goals, the horrible part is they lie, misdirect and have such low self-esteem, it take all my intuitive powers to even find small clues at to what they want. I know they do not know, but finally in the end, the majority just want money.

Therefore, if I help them have money, they are happy.

Which brings me back to the Dominican Republic people, a culture that will sell love for money, they appear to sleep with anyone for money at a drop of the hat. Money really does allow people with money to be surrouded by love. But this also applies to the waitress, when I give here a tip, she also likes me. When I help my friends to earn money, they like me.

I have to ask myself, "Do I believe in Love?"
or
"Do I believe in Money?"

I am not sure you are strong enough for love, it take a strong person to love.

These words sung by the singer Cher are great:

No matter how hard I try
You keep pushing me aside
And I can’t break through
There’s no talking to you.

And I will reply:
I want strong people in my life...

No matter how hard I try
You keep pushing me aside
And I can’t break through
There’s no talking to you
So sad that you’re leaving
Takes time to believe it
But after all is said and done
You’re gonna be the lonely one, Ohh Oh

Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now

What am I supposed to do
Sit around and wait for you
And I can’t do that
There’s no turning back
I need time to move on
I need love to feel strong
‘Cause I’ve had time to think it through
And maybe I’m too good for you Ohh Oh

Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now

But I know that I’ll get through this
‘Cause I know that I am strong
I don’t need you anymore
Oh I don’t need you anymore
Ohh, I don’t need you anymore
No I don’t need you anymore

Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now

Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now
Do you believe in life after love
I can feel something inside me say
I really don’t think you’re strong enough,
Now

- I am grateful, I am lucky man, I have more friends than I need today. And I do not search for reasons to be angry, a good lesson learned.
