DO YOU LIKE THE USA?

I love the USA. It is my country.
I have traveled for 3 1/2 years.
Visiting over 25 countries.
I am tired, or the constant Anti-USA comments.
I will not minimize this, it is a daily problem.

I SAY THANK YOU TO THE EUROPEAN LEADERS
For leading even though often their people do not
see the wrongs of their ways.
This is what a leader does. They lead.
I especially like that Tony Blair guy from England.

People think it’s intellectual, and fun to be Anti-USA.
It is racism.

TWO DEFINITIONS

race (rs) n.
1. A group of people distinguished by genetically transmitted physical
characteristics.
2. A group of people united by a common history, nationality, or
tradition.
3. A genealogical line; lineage.
4. A subspecies, breed, or strain of a plant or animal.
[From Old Italian razza.]

racism (r“sz”…m) n.
1. The belief that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
-- rac“ist adj. n.

I consider Anti-USA comments part of the problem.
They have helped terrorist to think mass murder
is acceptable by the world, and that no one will
help the USA. There is no superior race in the world.
I kind of like that idea of love everyone.
When you say an Anti-Country comment.
You are saying your race is superior.
You are being racist.

It is weird over here in Europe. I will soon leave for the USA.
Hoping to be occupied in a safe country, and in a much
more positive environment. I will travel around in the USA,
and then go to Thailand in search of warm beaches.

Ok, so what is weird? I am surrounded here in Ghent by people from
Turkey, Morocco, and India. I go to internet cafe’s daily. The cheapest
and my favorite is owned by my friends from India. These people
instantly
said to me how sad it was what happened in the USA.
I have had nobody else living here say anything.

There is also 3 internet cafe’s ran by Turkey folk, or Morocco people.
There is another I have went to owned by a French speaking North
African guy. This is a good place but they have a French keyboard
and I have just learned to type on the Flemish type of keyboard. Not a
big
difference but enough. It is complicated to explain all the problems
I have with internet cafes. But the computers at the India internet cafe
have problems because it was owed in the past owned by a Russian person.
So what you say... Well it will take letters and change them to Russian
letter. One of my newsletters had some Russian letter in it. Not my
fault, but the computer did it to me. So I in the end. I use the Turkey
one a lot.

Ok. I am sure you are bored with this explanation of internet cafe’s.
The attack on the world trade center happens. I have no idea what
religion these people are? And think I will do a little research.
Most people in Morocco are Muslims. I was thinking about
spending the winter there..... aagh forget that idea.
Most people from Turkey are Muslims.
Those women are beautiful... aagh
India people are 83 percent Hindu, and 11 percent Muslim and a
scattering of others.
Sort of neutral, but still in the mix of problems.
I could care less what religion they are.
But they keep telling me they care.

I also have a big flag pinned on my right leg.
Waves in the wind as I walk.
I will wear it for the next 30 days in respect for the people
and honor of my country.
I do not recommend this, unless you are used to being a
“Big Dog” as my friend Mike says.

I got a friend from Morocco that openly wears an American
flag on his hat. He is always chatting with some girl in the
internet cafe. Wonder what country?

I have all these Muslim guys telling me how they love the
USA. But keep telling me, they want evidence... ?
Wankers. The guy said he wants to destroy the USA.
That’s enough for me. He is my enemy. Huh... he also
has a machine gun. I have never even touched one.
Only see them in the movies. Saw my first one in person
in Mexico.

Here the kicker. It’s the Europeans that scare me.
They look at me, like I caused all their problems.
I have to bite my tongue, and think? The do not appreciate
anything, and I know that if I was attacked. I would be on
my own, alone, and they may have to learn yet another language.

In the end, traveling is fun when things are easy.
This is just too much hassle.

I do want to say thank you to that old guy on the train.
He was laughing at the size of my 2 backpacks. Then upon
learning that I did not speak Flemish. Decide to say in very
bad english.
“A lot Americon boys killed here”.
“Tdhank ku.”
I do know one guy in Europe is with us to stop terrorist.
Little worried about the rest of them.

Maybe it will help you to...

~ hoboguide.com GO THIS WAY !

VISIT THE USA

Learn the soul of a country.
Stop into a small town restaurant.
Drink a cup of coffee with free refills.
Get free water served without asking.

They will complain about almost anything.
Patriotic, flag wavers. Complaining about
their wives, husbands, and bosses, and their
country.

In love with their wives, husbands,
bosses, and country.

You can look out the windows of a house easy.
There are not bars on windows in the USA.

There is a law in my city.
NO FENCES IN THE FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE
It would make the house look ugly.

Can you imagine a place where they do not
need fences in the front yard?
Or bars on windows.
I know a place.
But the best part is free coffee refills.

Maybe it will help you to...
PLAN YOUR ESCAPE...
Be a hobo, and leave your mark.

~ EXTREME hobo ADVENTURE
I helped David Clark with the ropes going through the Panama Canal
He is TRYING to set a world record, by being the oldest person to sail
around the world solo. I will give updates until he arrives.
His boat SANK,
The story continues....
77 years old, he found a new one. YEA !

David is a true adventurer. He is having the same planning
problems as me, how to move forward in the face of danger.
His problem is hurricanes. My problem is war.

I actually feel I can avoid the war easier.
It looks like he will probably be in Lauderdale around December now.

If you would like to see his return from his
around the world sail, or attend the party.
David B. Clark, Captain of Yacht Mickey.

David's internet WebPages is:

~ TODAY’S TRAVEL TIPS

HOW TO BE CULTURALLY POLITE.

I do not look the other way. Corruption, theft, danger
and racism need to stop. But learning diplomacy
can make your trip more enjoyable. Think before you
make a comment. I often think a long time
before I write my comments. I am sure I offended lots of
people. I am trying to make you think, and help keep you safe.
I love you. I care about you. I wish you the best.
But I do not want to invite all of you home for dinner.

IT IS BAD MANNERS TO MAKE PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE

DO NOT !
COMPARE YOUR COUNTRY TO ANOTHER ALL THE TIME.
DO !
UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NORMAL TO COMPARE.
It is not possible to not compare your life to the life of another
individual.
But it is possible to not open your mouth. When you compare, you may
be saying. You are poorer. You are dirtier. You are more dangerous.
These comparisons are necessary for cultures to grow, but they are not
helpful in trying to find friendship.

DO NOT !
EXPECT A PERSON TO TALK YOUR LANGUAGE.
DO !
IF YOU SPEAK THEIR LANGUAGE. TALK...
This is totally ridiculous to expect a person to talk your language.
No language is superior to another. .
But if you speak their language, and will not talk then you are a jerk.
The goal is to communicate

DO NOT !
GIVE GIFTS WITHOUT THEM ASKING.
DO !
GIVE YOUR FRIENDS GIFTS.
Giving a person something without them asking because
you think they are poor. How would you like a millionaire
to come up and say you seem poor. Let me give you some money.

DO !
ALWAYS NEGOTIATE
DO NOT !
ALWAYS NEGOTIATE
Not negotiating because you think they are poor.
People do business for money, and pride. Do not
remove, or deny them the pride of doing normal business.
All people are equal. But do not be ridiculous and try
to take advantage.

DO NOT !
FORCE YOUR CULTURE ON THEM
This in my opinion is the number one offence.
Forcing your culture on them.
In Rome do as the Romans.
I remember 2 girls getting stones thrown at them for being
topless in Costa Rica. There was not one in topless
Costa Rican girl around. Trust me. I notice these type of things.
If you are the only one doing something. You may be a jerk.

DO NOT !
DEMAND YOUR TRADITIONS IN THEIR COUNTRIES
I really like free water, and refills of coffee. It just
does not happen.
I practice civil disobedience to this issues.
I do not buy any drink.
I also do not like to pay for the toilet.
Guess what people do that do not have money?
Of all the things needed. This is a biggie.
It a request, not a demand.

DO NOT !
STEREOTYPE A CULTURE WITH YOUR COMMENTS
Telling a person they have no culture.
They are fat.
The movies are just that, movies. Fantasy

DO NOT !
MAKING JOKES ABOUT THEIR COUNTRY.
A gentlemen’s agreement.

DO NOT !
TELLING A PERSON HOW TO DO SOMETHING.
They may be doing things that worst possible way.
The do not care, and they do not want your advice.

DO NOT GO HOME !
If you leave a country or place, it is sometime because
you think you are returning to a better place. Take care that you
realize. You may be saying to them, this is great place to visit, but I
could not live here.

DO NOT !
DENYING WHO YOU ARE TO APPEASE
To deny which country you are from, or to lie to people about
how you live is to say to a person "You are too dumb to understand".

DO NOT !
TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING
People are not tourist attractions.
They are people. You look funny to them. Do you want
them to walk up and take a picture of you?
Some of you travelers. Look like real clowns.
I sneak an occasional picture of some of the
travelers. hehehe

DO NOT !
FINDING ALL THE REASONS WE ARE DIFFERENT
DO !
Find all the reasons.
WE ARE THE SAME

~ hobo QUESTIONS FOR READERS

I want a CD ROM ATLAS OF THE WORLD. I want the program to be
able to map the quickest route for me from one point, to another
point, and tell me the distance.
It has to be for all the countries for the world. Not just the USA,
I cannot afford to buy one for each country.
OR an online atlas that does the same.

Danny from Vancouver Canada
Submitted a good link on my Atlas question.
This will page will give you a step by step list of directions.
