Guatemala
Woke up, it was a normal day, it’s my first full day. I truly love a room for $6.50 dollars per night, I’m 100 percent sure it's a great deal, then I am content. I could never be happy living in a 200 dollar room in the USA, I could never justify the value.
Market day is Sunday. My body feels great today, no stuffy nose, no aches in my legs, I reviewed the food I ate yesterday, and now know safe foods. Sacapulas, a city I can walk across is great, the bigger the cities, the bigger the problem.
Elevation of 1,825 meter - 5,988 feet, Uspantan, Guatemala is rather cold, ideal is 1500 meter, 5000 feet. I suspect I will leave tomorrow. I have a room for 50Q at Hotel Montana, a rather dive of a place, with a beautiful daughter. Oops, I do not leave.
I saw the collection area for “Black Salt,” and made a video. However, I accidentally entered a funeral wake, and that was exciting. I leave for Uspantan today.
I am on vacation from the rain in Cristóbal Verapaz, Guatemala. The $9 Hotel Villa Valencia is ok, hard to afford on my $12.50 per day budget, but the longer I stay, the easier it is to afford.
I left at 9:30 am, so I can arrive around 11 am. If I arrive too early there are no open rooms. I am trying to pay $3 dollar per jump, and travel about one hour. The roads are mountains, it is work just sitting in a seat, as the vehicles sway back and forth. I get car sick.
It is nice to be in a clean room in San Cristóbal Verapaz, Guatemala. The $9 Hotel Villa Valencia is a great location a half a block from the central park. Sadly, the Internet is worse than 50 Q rooms in Uspantan.
Guatemala
Hotel Montana is in a great location 50 Q. I was ready to leave when I arrived, the city is low on the priority list. The next city, Chichiman, Guatemala is great, go there, and scip Uspantan, Guatemala.
My fear of Hotels price gouging for Christmas, and New Year's Day January 1, 2022 is real. Therefore, I arranged with Ruth, the owner of Hotel Villa Valencia in the city of San Cristobal Verapaz, Guatemala to rent a room for 15 days, at 50 Quetzales per day, $7.63 dollars.
Today, I travel to Sacapula, Guatemala. It is 1300 meters elevation, therefore it’s a warmer city to spend the weekend, and it has a river. I have sort of decided to head towards Livingston Guatemala, then over to Pueto Barrios, and I will change my mind without remorse.
I thought they were correct, so I agreed to write articles, instead of the story of my life, my travels. Now, I believe differently, they want to write to make money, I want to write to explain, tell the story.
I left Panajachel, Guatemala at 8:00 am, traveled 35 miles, and arrived in Santa Cruz del Quiché at approximately 10 am. Found a nice 10 dollars hotel called La Terminal with WIFI next to the bus station. Two hours to travel 35 miles, wow.
I am living in San Cristóbal Verapaz, Guatemala until January 2, 2023. I have no regrets, I do not want to be anywhere else on the planet. Lake Atitlan is a paradise climate. However I regret knowing many of the people there.
