When I started traveling over 20 years ago, travelers often kept diaries, they would draw pictures, paste photos inside, it was very common, this custom is fading away.

Today, I am living on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, one of the most beautiful lakes on the planet. Yet, i find myself sad, a young woman of 23 died the other day.

Travel is a journey, an exploration, it is the creation of a story. Each traveler writes a new story. However, while we introspect, wander around the planet, wondering who we are, discovering our story, creating the story of our lives, some of us lose the plot.
This is the danger of travel.
There is advice told to travelers,
"Be careful when you get the end or the world, there be dragons."
21 years ago, when I started traveling, it was the custom of travelers to keep diaries, daily journals of their trips, complete with clippings, photos, bus tickets, often they would draw pictures of their experiences. it was a good thing.
I want every person to have a "caesura," a pause in the story, the verse, when the music stops.
I will stop today, ask myself, "Andy, are you on the right path?"
Or, "Andy, are you losing the plot?"
I wish this young woman of 23 would have found a better path.
Life is good.
Write down your thoughts, this is a solution to our confusions.
