No Batteries No Photos

No Batteries No Photos
I am a strong advocate for cameras that use four AA batteries, and would really like to hear the camera had eight. I have a systematic ritual of charging the 24 AA rechargeable batteries I now carry, but there is another question.

Are they charged, how do I know?

Battery tester I purchased at Radio Shack in the Mall at Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Thanks to Radio Shack and a 10-dollar bill, I now have a solution to a serious problem for photographers. I have charged batteries many times and when I placed them in the camera, I say oops, no charge, I try the next, and hope, sometime all are dead.

Whether they go dead by touching each other, or over time, or the charger is broke, there is no clear reason. I am planning to go off the grid up to my ears in trees, maybe called Jungle in Africa, I also want to go to the Amazon River, and find some isolated tribes. What I need is to KNOW, not hope my batteries for my camera are charged.

Now, I will know, I can charge up all 24 batteries for eight loads of my camera and I can take photos for roughly eight days, I am sure it will be only 5-6 because something else will go wrong. Thinking about buying another 12 or more batteries, they just weigh a lot and they will not allow through some airport, does not matter, too many batteries makes airport people nervous or greedy, I lost about 12 in the Delhi, India airport to an real jerk airport officer, and just another reason to not like India.

Many cameras have this lithium custom battery for the camera, when I see them, it makes me nervous, the only way to replace that battery is to pay 100 dollars and wait 7 days to receive it from the USA by FedEx and hope customs does not make my life difficult.

Battery management, truly not as simple as people imply or explain, then again if you really do not take many photos anything is easy.

Best Value Seat on the Plane

Best Value Seat on the Plane
Plenty of legroom, balanced on the wing for the least amount of motion sickness, this seat is the best value seat on the plane. It is time I realized it and asked for it, what am I waiting for?

The plane was empty, so I jumped on back a few seat to this spacious, open seating area where there is an escape door. The area is wider, more legroom, life is good. I was able to lie down and take a nap on the trip between Fort Lauderdale and Detroit on SpiritAir.com.

The Airplane people often, if not normally whethe I want an aisle or window seat, I normally say aisle so I am not packed in like a sardine. However, it is time I learned which seat to ask for, I need to ask for the aisle seat next to the escape door above the wing, there is probably an easier way to say this and I will learn.

Hey, if that word Legroom is spelled wrong, blame it on the spell checker of Microsoft Works. I tried Leg Room, it did not like it, I do not argue with machines.

Trees Grass and Drinking Water

Trees Grass and Drinking Water
There are many trees in the USA, the world is green here, and they give me water free.

Projects to grow trees, annoying as they were 10-20 years ago in Fort Wayne, Indiana are coming to fruition, there are trees everywhere. In the mediums, between the sidewalk and he road, this city is an oasis of green, amazingly clean little city.

After the dust and concrete walls of Iquitos, Pucallpa, Cusco and Lima, the USA is a clean machine. Yes, outside the cities in the mountains in Peru it is green, however where the bulk of the people live is concrete walls. Never have understood why people or developers cut down all the trees to make a housing development. I truly enjoy some big trees, bushes, plants and landscaping that does not take me twenty years to appreciate.

This is a view from my SpiritAir.com seat as the plane was landing in Detroit, Michigan. There are trees for as far as you can see, and there are houses for as far as you can see, not the same as the rest of the planet.

I think about 20-30 years ago, for sure Lyndon Johnson wife was focused on cleaning up the USA; 20-30 years ago, the USA started to clean. The place is stupendously boringly clean, even Detroit the other day was nice as I took a 1.5 hour trip from the Airport to the Greyhound Station.

The USA is really at the cutting edge of clean, the quality of life is great, that does not mean the people appreciate it and enjoy life.

This is just a normal from the airplane view of Detroit, not the most beautiful city in the USA by a long shot, however even Detroit is covered in trees, the USA people have is nice, life is good. I wonder if this this splendor will be the downfall of the USA, the life is just too easy, no need to strive to survive.

I am happy to not worry about finding drinking water, or whether the water I am drinking is safe, amazing.

Called to Check Airline Bags Weights and Sizes

Called to Check Airline Bags Weights and Sizes
I would recommend the whole world call the airlines directly before they get on a flight. I just called the United Airlines 800 number.

The women was great, polite and assured me I could take two bags on the flight to Thailand and each bag could way 50 pounds or less. My carryon bag is not checked for weight, but must fit in the more or less 14 X 22 X 9 inch size, or maybe bigger for United Airlines.

Careful, International flights allow more weight, you get off the plane overseas, and then pay double to take a bag on a domestic jet.

Weather Sickness Sports

These are the popular conversations in the USA and the World. I suppose I could add politics, but more complaining and less a conversation.

I am a collector of links on reasoning, I am thinking of adding the Curse of Self Awareness.

Six Dollar Gas in USA with YouTube Girl

Six Dollar Gas in USA with YouTube Girl
I truly hope to find this on YouTube.com, a video of Six U.S. Dollar per gallon gas. I wrote a post about good luck on 3 Dollar Gas and I received a couple of emails both more or less saying Europe and the USA does not have enough land to supply the corn, soybean, palm crops to supply the vegetable oil bio-fuels.

I believe the mind is capable of 100 times what is anticipated possible.

Example: Remember when everyone was saying they could not make faster chips, what they predicted 10 years ago is now funny.

Note, I go to Africa, I do not think we will be allowed to go and Rape the place again of Lumber, or Bio-fuels, not they sold us the slaves, not really a rape. Moreover, just because people are prone to abuse is not a reason to not try to be good boys.

LETTERS from Readers:

EUROPE perspective:

Hi Andy,

I'm not really certain about this but from a European perspective I
think the big problem with mass bio fuel use is that we don’t have
enough land to be able to produce enough bio fuels and still have
enough for other crops and animals so what has been suggested is we go rape Africa again and use their land to grow our bio fuel needs, pay them fuck all, deprive them of the ability to continue the sustenance farming that most people practice and we have a fair idea that none of the money paid to the country for the bio fuels will make it to the people losing their land! I don’t know about the possibilities in
America but I’d imagine it's pretty similar.
Might be worth looking into a bit more!

good luck
shane

USA Perspective:

Andy,

Still think it has to be nuclear, probably nuclear driven hydrogen production.

How many gallons get burned in US in a year? How many acres are there? Don’t think we will be eating, and I like food.

Gary

I personally think hydrogen is good, I think greed based bureaucracy and lets get rich off government contracts kills nuclear.

Ok, lets go to 10, this for sure will induce.

“What the mind of man can conceive and believe, he can achieve.”
Napoleon Hill

I truly believe we will one day in the next 50 years find a way to have unlimited supplies of energy. And I like the herding goats idea, plus see that someone should assign a job to the CIA on Chavez.
Hehehe, then onto Sadr City.

Like the word YouTube in the title, just me having fun banging peoples google alerts.

What Great Luck 3 Dollar Gas

What Great Luck 3 Dollar Gas
The USA is having a great stroke of luck; my father was complaining that the price of gas is 3.19 per gallon up town.

I am hoping it goes to six dollars quick.

I would like the Middle East, OPEC nations, Chavez, and all the others to kiss my butt.

The way I figure, they are dooming themselves to going back to herding goats. Chavez can get shot like most South American dictators.

All the commercials, all the new media, everyone is harping about bio-fuels in the USA. The way I understand it we can all go diesel, use vegetable oil for fuel, and the farmers of America can get rich.

Six dollars would make all this extremely feasible, they mass production of bio-fuels would lower the price to 3 dollars again and life would be sweet. No dependency on Gas because it was too expensive, when all the cars convert over, they will never convert back.

I think it would take less than one year for America to convert over 20 percent of cars at 6 dollars and the next 80 percent in less than five years, and alcohol could take up the rest of the problems.

I would say the Farm boys beat the Germans in WW I and WW II, time for the Farm Boys to come to the rescue again.
