Prices of USA versus Planet Earth

Prices of USA versus Planet Earth
I hate to say it; however with this recent visit to the USA I have over-scrutinized my country. I love the USA, however I can tell I am taking my “wonder of it all glasses” off.

I was in the center of Fort Wayne, Indian the other day; a man dropped a handful of envelopes. Four of us stopped and helped him to pick them up as they slowly spread around the intersection, it was a good day. I have heard more please, thank you, hello; excuse me than I have heard in the last year of travel here in the USA.

However, what am I to say, the cost of lunch is 10 dollars, if I want to eat for 2 dollars it has become incredibly difficult to find.

What is bad about this?

If I want to buy a computer, socks, shampoo, then “Walmart Mentality” is truly a wonder of the planet. I can buy this type of product at half the price of anywhere on the planet. However if I want to buy a sandwich it is triple of the majority of the planet, however half of Europe.

The cost of homes is 10-100 times more than anywhere on the planet, it truly is easy to stay within a budget in an under-developed country.

The daily expenses in the USA, the idle sandwich, the “Starbucks Mentality” rules, the cost of casual purchases is out of control. The cost of Homes is out of control, the “Luxury Home Mentality“ rules, the cost of Automobiles is out of control, the “I need a Mercedes Mentality“ rules. The staple products are the cheapest on the planet, the shampoo, deodorant; for sure, “Walmart Mentality” is one of the greatest parts of the USA.

I have heard multiple times on the televisions,
“The USA worker are the best on the planet.”

What kind of hokey crap is that, somehow they are saying the common worker is superior to a common worker in Asia? I feel like Hitler is up there preaching some type of we are the chosen race. Guess, what there is no chosen race, and for sure, the USA is not entitled to prosper.

The government of the USA encourages business to prosper better than any country on the planet, the first democracy on the planet is a great success. However arrogance is out of country, the meek shall rule the world.

As far as I am concerned, the "Starbucks Mentality" is the catastrophe, it a dysfunctional affliction causing the todays economic problem. (December 2008)

Travel is a Lifestyle Choice

Travel is a Lifestyle Choice
I have spent a week in the USA and I am continually preoccupied with comparing my life to my friends and family in the USA.

They all make more money than I do, they all have more than I do, and they all work fifty times more than I do. They are busy, I am not.

The majority of Travel Journals should be called Vacation Blogs; they will help you to dream about a two work Vacation. I can only hope to help people to dream about changing their life. We all make our own choices, I truly do not want to hear a person say,
"I have no choice."

What we Make In America

What we Make In America
Does anybody want to work in a factory? Or better yet, does anybody in the USA want to work in a factory for minimum wage?

I truly believe that a factory was never intended to be a great job; it was just a normal job for a high school graduate with no skills. I think an Auto Mechanic should be paid more than a factory worker. I am somewhat baffled how factory jobs ever became such good jobs. I work in a few factories in my youth, it truly motivated me.

I believe people need to stop and ask themselves why they need to earn so much money. If you love you job, the money is not an issue, if you hate your job than money is a big issue.

It keeps popping up in my head, people will do about anything if you pay them enough, lie, cheat, steal, etc.

Each person needs to sit done and ask themselves, is my life for sale, will I spend eight hours today working at something I truly hate if someone pays me enough? Does money buy you happiness, I am 100 percent sure it does not, however I am sure having a lot more money than you need will assist you in being happy.

One secret to happiness is probably not to borrow money.

Life is Work in USA in Winter

Life is Work in USA in Winter
This is the first time I have been in the USA during winter in years; I do my best to avoid winter. There is no advantage to winter, it just make life feel more difficult.

It feels like work to leave the home when it is cold.

On the other hand, walking down the sidewalk in my cities in the world is severe work and hassles.

I the USA I have fewer hassles, fewer daily annoyances, I have nobody here telling me lies, nobody here trying to cheat, and for sure there are no beggars in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

There is something about winters that change cultures, I am positive the rich and prosperous cultures exist where the weather is more harsh and difficult. I will be happy to leave for Panajachel, Guatemala where life is exceptionally good and free of the majority of daily hassles.

15 Day Visa for Thailand

15 Day Visa for Thailand
It appears Thailand is losing the plot, Thailand has changed the “Border Run” rules, if a person crosses a land border, and returns they only get 15 days, not the former 30 days.

When I first entered Thailand a few years ago there is existed this corrupt way of paying Travel Agents to extend the Visa. I personally feel that the corruption is returning because Thaksin is out of office.

Tourism helps all the people of Thailand, making foreigners pay for visas enriches the government coffers at the expense of the people.

When a government is not good at collecting taxes, they set up toll gates at the entrances and exits of cities and the country. Effectively forcing all goods and people to pay to enter or leave.

I have doing extreme research trying to nail down this problem in my body and make any necessary changes to stop it.

Dehydration is one cause, I learned a simple test for dehydration, I pull the skin on my hand up and let it go, if it bounces back fast I have plenty of water, if not than I am dehydrated. Well, I am dehydrated so I am trying to drink tons of water and have upped the amount of salt in my diet. I gave up processed foods, and truly do not use salt, plus I gave up soda and coffee and my liquid intake is radically less.

I have bad posture because I broke my femur in four places in a serious motorcycle accident and one leg is about ½ inch shorter than the other is. I think there something ruptured, there is a small bag like bump in my back, like a blood clot, but I am still alive.

I am trying to narrow down the problem, find the specific problems and make changes.

Tylenol makes the pain end for about two hour, I do 50 deep knee bends to engorge my legs with blood, try to keep the circulation maximized. Having an ulcer is not helping, trying to keep the body in balance is a lot of concentration. I am planning on getting some x-rays in Guatemala and sending them to my friend Jeff who is a Doctor, I will solve this problem.

I gave my Fuji Camera to a girl in Thailand, it was a good decision, I thought she had an eye for the unusual. Here is a great photo of the Moon and a couple of Stars making a Smiley Face.

An ironic timing of this photo, the debacle at the Bangkok, Airport has ended and the Primer Minister has been removed from office.

Mumbai Massacre

Mumbai Massacre
If I could teach a class on how to travel the world safely, I would hope to focus on the need to hide in plain sight.

I would take the Mumbai Terrorist attacks as an example of how to volunteer for problems. There is no way possible to avoid all problems, however there are ways to hedge your bets.

Attracting attention?

Should I stay in a luxury five star hotel or in a minus one-star flophouse?

You have the haves and the have not in life, many time we have the First Class Traveler and we have the wanna be First Class. If someone notices you, you are in Danger of being robbed, raped, abused or killed. If nobody notices you, if you fit into the crowd, you do not stand out, and then you are hiding in plain sight.

Often your ego is writing checks it cannot cash; a person with true self-esteem does not need to prove it.
