One Step Backwards with Wiki Search

Wikipedia.org is trying to use free labor to take on Google.com and create a new search engine.

I remember hoping, begging, and praying that Yahoo.com allowed me in their index. I am so happy Google.com put them old miserable days behind. Yahoo.com tried to collect 269 dollars and then would not say, 100 percent you will be included in their directory, what a bad idea.

The proven principle of the internet that works,
is allow anyone to play with your toys.

Open Source is not the same as Open to anyone.

I laugh at the Internet, when I first start in pure HTMl, I had to make a perfect code page or it did not work.

The Microsoft explorer improved and bad code, looked good, now with Firefox, back to the same, bad code look bad. Not everyone is an expert.

Now, Wiki wants to say, I need permission by them to get in their directory.

Reminds me of Yahoo.com and their crash, history does repeat.

I love the Wikipedia.org encyclopedia, however I keep laughing,
I cannot post something as an expert traveler. I need citations.

- Therefore, I will write a book someday, whereby I can quote myself as fact, and both ways, they are not fact.. hehehe -

This link cannot be the one I am supposed to bookmark, but the only one that is clearly a search. What will I need to do, bookmark later when they decide they are going to make it.

I borrowed the hotels broom, decided it was time to give it back, especially because they did not know I borrowed it. This woman was walking by, I think she though
- Ba Ba Bo Bo Farang - (Falang pronounced)

Crazy Foreigner, why does he need a broom?

I am fascinated with the stick on the shoulder thing, there is a special one made from Bamboo more sophisticated. I truly think this way of carrying or on the head is better than a backpack.

This is a broom, as I understand it is supposed to sit up this way to not blunt, and separate the very soft brush. It is only a few feet long, and a person has to bend over a little bit to use.

I wonder if five star hotels include brooms, dustpans, and other cleaning supplies, I think not. To me a broom is required for the perfect room, especially near a sandy beach.

I do not allow the staff of hotels to clean my room, like having a person off the streets walking around a years wages.

Quality of life improved for 1 dollar, because I am responsible for me, not making the world responsible for me.

MISSING
IF you have seen these men, please contact either on this page or at the email address below.

Stephen Nicholas Perrett (27) and Stephen Robert Perrett (51)

I received one of them shot in the dark emails, a person searching for two relatives. This happens a couple times per year, they surf, find my page and write a letter to me.

I am trying to contact two of my relatives, Stephen Nicholas Perrett (27) and Stephen Robert Perrett (51). They arrived in Thailand on the 3rd October as part of a round the world trip. We believe that they may have been in the Surat Thani area between that date and the 21 October 2007.

They planned to return to the UK on the 17/18 December for Christmas and New Year before continuing their travels. They have failed to do so and have not contacted family or friends since early November. They are both British passport holders.

Stephen (younger) is brown skinned with short black hair and a tattoo that reads ‘Sarah’ on his chest. He has brown eyes. Stephen (elder) is white, with dark ‘mousy’ hair and blue eyes.

I would appreciate any information being sent to
arah.perrett AT sjp.co.uk. (Replace with @)

Starting a Book on Page 300

Starting a Book on Page 300
A person does not start to read a book on page 300, however this is what a blog demands you do. A reader has a great request and high times somebody complained.

REQUEST: Andy HoboTraveler.com Travel Journal

Name: Bob L
Country: USA

Message:
Could you please add a link to next on your pages. I would really like to view your blog from oldest to newest. There is a link to previous, but not to next.

Personally, I would rather see any Blog page have the oldest requested post shown on the top. I have only seen this in a few Blog programs where I could select a date, say Dec 31, and it would show dec 31 on top, then jan 1, then jan 2 etc. But since almost no one is doing it I guess I am one of only a few that complaint.

ANSWER
Great request, absolutely correct, and one of the biggest annoyances of my life. If you think, I have written now as of today 3,444 posts. Moreover, I, Andy, ME, does not have anyway to read my own blog.

Eric offered to do a table of contents for me a year ago, and silly me stopped him because I thought I could just go use a macro and do it.

People recommend I change from blogger.com to Wordpress; they want me to change my - Blog Publishing System. -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/blogger.com
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress

Truth is both are Ass Backwards. The reason people use a blog publishing system is because they do not know how to make a web site and easy. (I started blogging to allow readers to read daily my trip to Iraq, then I planned to stop, I thought I would just post start to finish.)

I do not read blogs, I read books, I Andy of HoboTraveler.com hate to read blogs, and I for sure hate to read travel blogs, and refuse to use RSS readers, like never completing a sentence.

Why, because I am always starting the book at the end and trying to figure out what the person is up too………………………………..................

Being that I normally do not have an internet connection, how am I supposed to read a book backwards, figure out what they are doing, and then try to stay interested I lose interest immediately and go look at a one-page articles on Wiki. This is why a blog post needs to be one topic, and not more than one, and cannot assume anyone has read anything before or after. I try to write this way, however that is not the way the story goes…
Whatever the case, Bob L, you are the smart one. I will do the next and previous thing if I can get Boy Genius in India to help.

I unfortunately need an internet connection to do this work, this is my major problem, I am a traveler, and I do not normally have an internet connection. I am making a web site, however I do no get to check to see if it even is there…

I am now planning to tame this beast; I will try to find a good connection every three months to solve this problem.

I will stop, there is no end to how many comments, thoughts and opinions I have on this subject, I know clearly now the problem and trust me, I continually search for solutions. I suppose I search for cheap solutions, I know how to do it for about 10,000 dollars,

The Traveler Trade

The Traveler Trade
Professional traveler, I have no idea what that means, but it may be possible I am one.

I know:
There is no difference between backpacker living on a 15 dollars a day budget and a tourist on a 750 dollar per day budget. Both want to have good value for their money.

There is almost NO correlation between what you pay and quality of the hotel.
--- A tourist is clueless, going on a two week vacation does not give them the ability to judge a room....

Ask yourself and think?
- Have you ever gone into a store and purchased something that was priced so cheap, you could not believe it? -

The same thing exists in hotels, but 20 times more often. Many hotels do not know how good they are because lets face it; they do not go and visit the other hotels to know.
Slumming it (Talking about what I pay for room.)
On a Hobo Budget (Talking about Airplane Flights)

Two friends recently proved they really do not understand what I do, and they just do not get it. I am positive I do not trust them to know what a good value is for the buck.

The problem is this
- They believe if you pay more, you get better. -

One of my best room I every had was in Sihanoukville, Cambodia for three dollars per night. I keep thinking about the clean sheets, balcony overlooking the sea.

I stayed in 70 dollar per night hotels in the Caribbean that I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I crack up when I think about the Hilton in the Malate Area of Manila. Gee, they a person to pay the big money to live in a neighborhood full of beggars, bums, and prostitutes, go figure.

I took photos of an apartment Hotel in Anguilla that rented for 2000 dollars per night next to a dump, looking at the side of a hill.

The biggest problem for the average person trying to get a good value is they pre-judge, are snobs, and just plain too lazy.

The never went out looking for the absolutely best value for the buck hotel on the planet. They just accepted what was easy.

The airplane ticket thing was just too stupid, he was just saying, I want you to just pay, make my job easy.

I think the earmark of a Professional Traveler is they will be able to tell you many hints and tips on how to find the one great hotel priced for 10 dollars surrounded by hotels that cost 100. The person can also tell you which rooms are best in the hotel, not just the hotel. I continually sleep in the best room in the hotel, which is stupidly priced the same as the worst.
The hotel am in presently has bed bugs, I am now in a room without bed bugs. This sound funny, but even if I pay 20 times the amount of money, I cannot find the same bundle of services in the Khao San Road area. There is no way to pay more and get the same bundle of services that I need, not you, but me.

The professional traveler keeps searching for great hotels for 15 dollars per night.
Why? Because they know they exist, just have to find it. I know when I find it, I get a normal 100 dollar per night room, for 15 dollars.

Boiling Bed Bugs and Bloody Shirts

Boiling Bed Bugs and Bloody Shirts
I move rooms; I think this new room is free of bed bugs. However, now I am boiling everything in sight hoping to kill my pets. I now have a family collected in a bag.

The Hotel cleaned the clothes for free, but there was a fight…

A Bloody Shirt Story
New Years Eve the husband of he housekeeper, or the one that cleans the laundry and many other things was beat up by her husband. They proceeded to get blood all over my new shirt I purchased at Robinsons Mall in Manila, Philippines.

The girl I guess has six stitches, and I have not seen her around, the husband is still doing maintenance.

They tried to bleach out the blood, now it is many white and blue and many stripes, so much for the bloody shirt...

Cannery Row is not very far from here.
Tomorrow, I am going float some bed bugs in my bucket. I will load up a plastic cap from a bottle with bugs. I will then turn on the electric water heater; see if I can boil them in their small boat.

I hope to video this, but I want to know, does hot water kill bed bugs?

Each circle is where a person can easily spend 3-6 months.

17. 5 Year Plan
35 x 6 months and it will take you 17.5 years to visit planet earth.

9 Year Plan
35 x 3 month plan and you are in around 9 years, I must be on the 17.5 year plan or more…

When I look at this map, I will try to plan on visiting one the RED areas that corresponds with the months. The middle area is the tropics, and most area are best when not high tourist season.
Damn, there are problem, this is why I draw a map, to clarify.
