Spotting the Pro Photographers

Spotting the Pro Photographers
I have a short list of questions and observations to spot the professional photographers.

I need to ask, or I need to observe these concepts.

Ask how the person deal with condensation on the lens when walking in and out of Air Conditioning.

Does the person have back up batteries.

Does the person have a computer.

When a pro takes a photo,
- They take a look at the sun, then they take a photo fast. -

Ask them how many cameras they are carrying?

Ask them if they are Pro?
(Trick Question)

The list of telltale sign to spot the non-pro exist also.

I have not explained these sentence fragments because for a person to learn there needs to be some unanswered questions playing ping pong I their head.

Famous Photographer Lottery

Famous Photographer Lottery
People buy very large and expensive cameras.

Like buying a lottery ticket, when there is only a one in 10 million chance of winning.

I enjoy learning about photography, I enjoy learning. I keep searching for teachers. I search for experts to learn from or even copy their techniques.

I was sitting in front of the hotel with Andrew Boy Genius from India; we see this fat man and women sit down at the restaurant across the lane. He plops this huge camera on the table, must weigh as much as chicken with that extra large size battery and lens.

Andrew said,
- Why do people buy these cameras? -

I have been musing, mulling this question around in my brain for years now, and I truly cannot see a clear path to why. I finally said,
- I think they want to be a famous photographer. -
- They hope they will take that one photo that will make them famous. -

Andrew said,
- They think the camera will take the photo. -

I read often on site where a person says they are a,
- Photographer. -

I said,
- I guess everyone is a photographer, because they take photos. -

The power of fame is interesting, it is amazing to me that a person can write mean and nasty emails because I do not put my photo on pages.

Giving a person the opportunity to become famous makes many web sites famous. I have never been on facebook.com, because they want me to sign up to use. I think it is analogous to a very nice phonebook or yellow pages to promote yourself.

I was reading a page explaining the Google.com Philosophy.

The first point was:

1. Focus on the user and all else will follow.
http://www.google.com/corporate/tenthings.html

Google is a search site, so they give good search, but they also allow every site to get into their search engine. Yahoo.com is on the way out of business because they refused to allow the users to enter.

Facebook.com opened up to allow anyone to be a face, and I guess enter the lottery. (Note, I really do not know anything about this site and do not plan to learn.)

I share how I travel, and how I succeed as one theme to focus on users. I feel the best way to learn to take photos is to find how great photographers take photos, and focus on their skills more than their camera.

I have learned, it is not possible to find a professional photographer by looking at their camera. I am still searching for professionals, and slowly I am creating some interview questions.

Weather Planning

Weather Planning
I do not like cold weather. To know the temperature of a travel destination in the future is a challenge.

I have found one solutions. Monthly Weather Averages
http://www.weatherbase.com

What is the weather in March, April, May for the city of Montpelier, France?

The weather today is not important, I must accept the today’s weather as is, however when planning my future destinations I can choose the best average temperatures.

http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/weather.php3?s=34670&refer=
(What do you think? Will that link break?)

With the link on Average Temperature I can plan for weather happiness, my happiness, not yours, we are not the same animal.

I want to have a guide as to how long this site has been in business, I truly do not like to fall in love with internet sites that goes out of business. Even worst is when I blog, post a link to them, then in some brain glitch a site changes the link, therefore effectively breaking my site.

I would love to have the Average Monthly Temperature line on correlated as best we can to the cities of the planet.

The truth is I can find all this information fast on a high-speed connection. When I am in Africa, out in the jungle, on some deserted island, this becomes just some vague dream. I must somehow know how to return to these pages, or to my own sites.

Update on Backpack Project

Update on Backpack Project
I think progress on the backpack has stalled.

Again, to reiterate what it takes to manufacture or make the perfect backpack.

Perfect Materials
Perfect Design
Perfect sewing or machine work.

I talked with Rodney from the Philippines this more with Skype.com. I asked him if he wanted me to take over the complete job of finding materials, and he said yes. Thereby I am taking over complete control of finding the best materials. I think I have jump above his skill sets.

When working on project the path changes, and truly, there is no reason to push any person to work or achieve a goal. I find in life I am either pulling or they are pushing me, I tend to stop pushing.

I now have a vision of the perfect backpack in my head.

I now have a list of materials I need to buy; this is a great accomplishment and great progress. I am using a site Alibaba.com to find vendors of materials. I have decided that Hong Kong is the epicenter of business exchange for Asia; I therefore am searching for companies on Alibaba.com, the internet, and any other way possible to find vendors.

(Note: To use Alibaba.com without registering is almost worthless, the site has little value on the outside search, you must sign up, and submit on the inside request or more or less crap.)

One possible solution is to buy the materials at about 10 times the cost in the USA, make the prototype, then take the materials to Hong Kong and search for the original source.

I now have the goal of collecting all the materials in one location, when this goal is accomplished, I will have the backpack sown together. It is very possible I sew the bag myself together as I know how to do this.

Brown Skin Become White Skin

Brown Skin Become White Skin
There are skin-whitening creams on the planet, there are people that rub or use creams and foams to become whiter.

There are people who think White skin is better.

I do not know what to do, I found this in my shower, it appears the Thai girl is using this stuff on her skin. I keep telling her I like the color of her skin, however there is something China White that is culturally ingrained in her mind, that it is better to be white.

I will go to the beach to get tan, and she wants to be white, I can never get my mind around an idea of being someone else than who I am...

A traveler searches for money to travel, 99 percent search to earn money to at home jobs, and the other 1 percent searches for a way to never stop traveling. Never-ending curiousity, a love for history, ethonology, archaeology, anthropology makes for a better traveler.

More or less you can follow your curiousity or become some traveler trash workin on hedonistic pleasure in a never ending cycle of non-fulfillment.

Very few of us get to indulge in the meat of travel, we normally get jobs teaching English, the majority of sons and daughters go off to party, and never saw the traveler roses. Wade is looking at the Traveler Roses.

Room 504 Alarm Clock Drunk

Room 504 Alarm Clock Drunk
An alarm clock in room 504 has been ringing for one hour. Finally got annoyed enough to call the management of the Hotel.

I am presently in a 150 dollar per night hotel in the USA.
(No, I am Thailand, but this is the true value of this room in the USA.)

The management says the person in the room does not answer the phone. I finally go and bang on the door loud enough for ten neighbors to hear, it is 8:59 in the morning.

The battery powered alarm clock is both a benefit and an annoyance. I am one of the main problems, so I know this is a problem. 90 percent of the time I wake up before any set alarm clock, if I got dressed and leave the room my alarm clock can be inside the room for hours ringing annoying the other guest. I therefore almost never set the alarm only for airplane trips, and try to use my cell phone alarm and not the other one because if I take the cell phone with me I will still hear it and shut off.

What to do with a drunk person in the room 505? The management did not feel it is their right to enter a room and shut off, therefore I decided it was my right to wake up the idiot drunk in the room. (It is not his or her right to annoy the hotel?)

There are reasons for management to enter the room.

Water is running from the sink onto the floor and into the hall, there is nobody in the room.

The alarm clock is ringing longer than 15 minutes.

I truly do not care about Hotels, I want to know the management is in control of the hotel and not the drunk in room 504. I also get angry that some USA guy has to take over management when all the wimps and limp wrist people on the planet do nothing.

No Smoking No Drinking Hotels

No Smoking No Drinking Hotels
I have a sign in my room saying No Smoking; however, the Hotel than provides a cigarette ashtray.

Rules are made to be broken; they for sure are not made to be enforced.

One of the major reasons and maybe the only reason I would ever live in the USA again is because of the many rules. If there was a country where the hotels were 10 dollars per night and many of the rules of the USA, it could be heaven. I suppose I could try to find a fun spot in the ever-boring country of Singapore.

I enjoy when the pedestrian has the right of way.
I enjoy throwing my trash in a bin.
I enjoy when people must leave the restaurant to smoke.
I enjoy when the police come and stop a bunch of drunks.
I enjoy when the police stop speeders.
I am 150 percent in love with zoning laws that says the neighbor cannot open a bar.

I sometime think maybe I can search on the internet for a healthy hotel, where there is no smoking and drinking. At first thought, a person would thing the vegetarian places would fit the bill, however drug use, drinking and smoking are worst in vegetarian places. I think they more or less overcompensate for their other weaknesses by seeking veggie world or religions. Sometime they take on an aura of holiness because they are too lazy to work.
However, a non-smoking hotel, a real non-smoking hotel would be extremely unpopular.

In the end, paying a lot of money to live in a five star hotel would not help me to avoid the trailer trash mentality.

I am never able to walk down the sidewalk in Asia without a continuous weaving between obstacles. Africa can sometimes be quiet, however noise pollution is fashionable. Making a lot of noise with the motorcycle or cell phone is fashionable.

It would be nice to be in a hotel where they respected any rules. I went in the doors of a few five star hotels in Manila to look around. There were cluster of men in front of the hotel talking, blocking the door, I remember one man pulling his shirt up and playing with his stomach. I thought to myself, I am still in the same bad neighborhood.

There is a section on HoboHideOut.com called
- Neighborhood Ambience And Annoyances -
This tourist room completed the submision very well:
http://www.hobohideout.com/hungary/budapest/locomotive-light-hostel

So far, we have induced anyone to understand what this category is for, however in the end. People do know they want to live in a good neighborhood, sadly, the hotel industry does not understand this concept very well, and for sure, I am presently in a bad neighborhood. Khao San Road is a voyeuristic experience on the cheap, however the last place on the planet to live.
