Bangkok to Chicago Air Ticket

Bangkok to Chicago Air Ticket
24,100 Thailand Baht buys a one way Air Ticket from BKK to CHI on March 2, 2008 for a Hobo Traveler by the name of Andy.

Time to check in with the Home Team, and breath the fresh air, sleep in clean sheets, and revel in the absolute quiet of Indiana.

I will fly to the USA on March 2 and stay for about 10 days, then I plan on going to Africa and travel in a place where the guidebooks seem to forgot.

“Frequent travellers who never outstay their visas and possess biometric passports would gain fast-track entry.”

Guardian Newspaper Online:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/feb/14/immigrationpolicy.eu

I have overstayed the permission to be in a country one time, and this was in Thailand for two days. The overstay cost me 5 dollars per day. More or less this is some money making gimmick for Thailand.

Being illegally in countries is common, however as the world connects all the computers database there will come a day when they may just deny entry to you…

You walk up to the desk, hand the person your passport, the officer behind the desk swipes your passport over the readers. He or she than says,
- I am sorry sir, you cannot enter, we see you have overstayed you Visa in Thailand one time, and two times in the Philippines. -

OR.... hehehe give us 500 dollars and enter.

Do I walk on Left or Right

Do I walk on Left or Right
Do people in England tend to walk on the left side of the sidewalk because they drive cars on the left? Do people from the USA tend to walk on the right because they drive on the right?

Hmmm, I guess I am trying to think of a guide or way to know, or how to tell people how to walk. Empathy impaired walkers, are on walkabout.

One of the big annoyances of traveling is walking, I normally walk on the road because I cannot be bothered to dodge all the crap that is obstructing the sidewalks. However, when I do walk on the sidewalks it would be helpful in some countries if they had a sign,
- All foot traffic stay to left or right. -

Please think before you stop, you share the planet with other people.

Choose a country and submit annoyances.

20 or 21 Years Sober

20 or 21 Years Sober
On February 12, 2008, I think I was sober for either 20 or 21 years.

Wow, for 21 years I was not a jerk, at least not an alcohol induced jerk

Please, no congrats are in line, it is not an accomplishment; nobody should be rewarded in any way for not being a jerk. What I am happy about is being a good boy for 21 years.

However, I know many people on planet earth that was never an alcohol induced jerk. When I drank, I thought everyone drank, and I truly believed anyone who did not drink was a jerk. Wow, what a stupid idea.

I remembered the other day that my sobriety day was coming up; however, I am not good at year things. I called my mother to ask, and she just emails back to say 21, I hope she is right.

However, the truth is, I do not revel in the time, because I do not want to remember I was a jerk 21 years ago. I do like to remember the 21 years of being a good boy. I would not like someone up and say, congratulations,

- Hey Andy, you stopped being Jerk 21 years ago. Attaboy. -

I am still waiting for someone to congratulation me for being a good boy. When I behave, do all the right things, nobody comments. So really when a person acts like a jerk, do not give them sympathy, go over and give them a whack on the head. Pretend and remember they are dog, they need a smack. People are animals too, giving them a good hard smack on the head with a stick would maybe help. I cannot remember any loving words that stopped me from drinking; I can still feel the pain caused by the legal system of the USA. House arrest for a year, 10 years of no driving, a painful experience.

I guess I should thank the Legal System of the USA for changing my life, a groups that did not mix their words.

Hey all of you, pet you alcoholic animal on the head, the hit him or her on the head with a 2 by 4.

If you really want to hurt King Baby Alcoholic, ignore him or her.

Close the Shower Door Please

Close the Shower Door Please
The Hotel shower door is broke and will not stay shut. This is an annoyingly simple travel tip solution that is needed.

I wedged a towel into the door jamb area to keep the door closed.

Maybe you shared the toilet between two rooms. There is noise, you do not want to air condition the shower, there are many reason to keep a door closed. This works on both sides, on about any door that you want to stay closed.

Who am I
Who am I? Who are you? I assume that I know who I am; therefore, I sometimes forget to introduce myself. About Andy

I am Andy of HoboTraveler.com, and what is your name?

I do not like to be anonymous, however, .... maybe I do like to be anonymous. This is confusing.

If you want to get into the Identity Theft and Internet Scams business, now is the time to do so…. hehehe

If I need honest advice, I call a couple of friends I have known for years and ask opinions. There is a temptation to just blog about it, propose a question and hope some good ideas sprout wings.

I am here in Bangkok working with Andrew Boy Genius from India on the internet site that will have will have list of all, and any type of room for Tourist to sleep site called:

The who am I question is a daily conversation.

Then, the who are you question comes up?

The problem is this, and I experience it daily on the comments of this blog. The anonymous side of people is the shadow, the dark side, when there is no commitment, they feel license to insult, trick, lie and pretend they are something they are not or explain who the really are....

It is an intriguing look at culture on the blog comments I DELETE, you readers do not see for the most part.

However, when a hotel takes a reservation this is real, no jokes, the hotel needs to know or feel comfortable there is a person on the other side.

I do NOT recommend people make reservations.
Why, it is simple, I have lived in hotel rooms for 11 years and I do not trust the hotels. I also know, I do not trust the travelers. Both sides of the coin will lie, cheat, steal and play sneaky games if they can.

Commmitment has nothign to do with being anonymous.

Hotels are better than the tourist, however really it is neck and neck on who is more willing to lie to create a benefit.

Reservations are this, we give a credit card, they take money, and we agree to pay.

Stopping abuse is the goal, getting both sides to tell the truth, when the situation is about the same as paying taxes. I would say, the same people who cheat on taxes, cheat or lie when it comes to hotel reservations, it is not the view of humanity I like to see.

In the end, who I am and who are you is the question. There has to be a clear, simple, and easy to prove way that you can trust me, that I also can trust the hotel and if there is a problem, there are consequences.

Giving credit card numbers to hotels is not safe, you do really does not want someone in Thailand sitting around running up bills on your card. Nobody talks about this, admits this, because it is standing up and say,
- I AM STUPID -

It is not stupid to be robbed or cheated, but some do volunteer more than others, and some people are smarter than others are. (Animal Farm)

I only use Credit or Debit Cards at ATM machines that are attached to big banks. I then try to only use the same machine. I do not use Travelers Checks because they are not accepted worldwide as they say.

Proving who you are is best done with a credit card.

Therefore, the solution is this, how to prove whom I am with a credit card to the hotel and never give the card number to the hotel.

By the way, thank you to all you folks who so easily volunteer to give credit cards to Hotels, Tour Companies and other Tourist industry people. This is truly a great benefit for me. They concentrate on you, the soft and volunteer targets. They do not get very creative and try to swindle me; they have a full inventory of people who just hand over their card.

Iconography

Iconography
Here is a photo of an Elephant Statue in Bangkok, Thailand. I found it an interesting combination of Buddhism and Hinduism.

Normally in Thailand you will see a Buddha statue, I found this new statue erected at the Sawasdee Smile Hotel behind the Wat. Alternatively, maybe you could say directly behind the Travelers Connection (Israel Connection).

I thought, hmmm, what is up, this is an Elephant?

There is an interesting bleeding here as maybe a Hindu statue is also treated as a Buddhist statue. I for sure do not want to think about this one much as it just gives a never-ending thread to question marks.

Wiki Information:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iconography

--- the branch of art history which studies the identification, description, and the interpretation of the content of images. The word iconography literally means "image writing", or painting, and comes from the Greek εικον (image) and γραφειν (to write). A secondary meaning is the painting of icons in the Byzantine and Orthodox Christian tradition. A third meaning lies in the field of semiotics, see below. Sometimes a distinction is made between Iconology, the branch of art history that deals with the description, analysis, and interpretation of icons or iconic representations[1], and Iconography, a set of specified or traditional symbolic forms associated with the subject or theme of a stylized work of art[2].

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idolatry
Idolatry is a major sin in the Abrahamic religions regarding image. It is usually defined as worship of any cult image, idea, or object, as opposed to the worship of a God. In religions where such activity is not considered as sin, the term "idolatry" itself is absent. Which images, ideas, and objects, constitute idolatry, and which constitute reasonable worship, is a matter of contention with some religious authorities and groups using the term to describe certain other religions apart from their own.

I am in a Trap, a tourist trap by the name of Thailand, maybe all of Southeast Asia. I really have to eat my leg off and leave…

I truly do not want to sacrifice a leg, Thailand is not Wolf Ugly.
- chew your own arm off to get away -

However, it is getting close…

I truly wish I could give readers a fantasy, I could just travel endlessly and not work, only talk about beautiful sunsets and cliché lives like many bloggers. When finish with their fantasy trip, they go home and earn money, stop blogging and then return to start blogging fantasy lies.

I stopped in Thailand and Philippines to work on website and plan future trips. I am planning to leave Thailand on March 3, 4, 5 something like that.

This high-speed in my room WIFI has opens my eyes to the the lemming travel bloggers are doing, including myself.

South America, Central America are SOP. Stardard Operating Procedure
Europe is old school, and synonymous with going to Disneyland.
Middle East is the Middle.
South East Asia is SOP
Russian and China are middle ground.

There is no map for Africa.

I am going to finish my work on the webpage soon; we plan on meeting in Europe in about three months to repeat maintenance work. I have done about four year’s maintenance work in four months. Next high-speed internet stop will be less boring, about two to three weeks.

Trust me; I know you are bored; I am boring myself silly with this Thailand jag.

I have visited 77 countries, time to get out of the box. (Trap)
