I have been trying now for two days to upload a video I took of Traditional Thailand Music played in the river park close to Khao San Road.

Is Thailand censoring YouTube.com videos again, stopping people from uploading videos?

YouTube.com Thailand is a problem child for the Thailand country, the YouTube.com has many girl videos and these type of photos or videos are blocked in Thailand.

It is a humorous situation, in a country where the Boom Boom Girl tourist business thrives, is encouraged and organized as probably their number one tourist attraction. They do allow this to be advertised, not that I care, but a mixed cultural bag.

Freedom of speech, a luxury on the planet, not common, in fact is rare.

Best Backpack Design and Quality

Best Backpack Design and Quality
I have been obsessing on quality of design and workmanship of backpacks. I believe the more time I invest in Research and Development the better the Windmill Backpack can be. I am searching for smart people.

I am lucky; I see thousands of backpack from all over the planet, so I do get to see good design ideas.

I truly believe I see more backpack designs than about anybody on the planet. I see people from German, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, France, England, Australia, and the USA, I see about every country on the planets best of the best. I truly enjoy the Japanese and Korea Backpacks, they do think different.

I talked the other day with a lady in the USA on Skype.com, what impressed me is she was ready to leave work, yet she took great care to explain to me about here products. I learned more in minutes about backpack fabrics than I have learned in hours of talking with the man in Philippines who was helping and more or less gave up in the pursuit of quality.

The last few days I have been plowing away learning about something called Seam Tape. When there is a seam in a backpack, you can apply Seam Tape to the joint or seam. As best I understand, this tape is to reinforce the seam, stop water in some instances, and to create a stronger seam then just threads.

Zippers are probably the biggest problem with Backpack, when they break there is a problem. Clips, Buckles, Snaps and other plastic and metal hardware break constantly; to buy the best quality and to install on the bags properly is the solution. Then to have extras to replace when they are broken or fall off, there needs to be replacement parts. No buckle will survive being run over with by a car, but I can hope.

The seams of backpack should not split easy, the sewing cannot break, there needs to be enough thread to make the seam stronger than the fabric.

Ok, so I find a person that sews, that does not mean they know about Seam Tape, I know how they do it in Nepal, and for sure, that is inadequate for a great bag. I am thinking to myself, I need to find at least three people on this planet that are experts in sewing backpacks.

Time is an interesting aspect of designing something, patience is the related to time, without patience a person cannot do perfection work. I am extremely patient and take the time, yet I am very intolerant of poor work, I do not obsess on getting a design perfect the first time, therefore this is the reason I have made over 11 sample bags in my research to discover the best bag designs.

I want to put wheels on the bag, removable, and strong, able to withstand a lot of punishment, wide enough so the bag does not tip over, yet able to enter and leave rooms, or be pulled down the aisle of an airplane by a fat old woman.

I need a machine shop and some experts to do this work, I have never seen wheels on luggage that work, this aspect needs some invention to make sufficient.

I have a bundle of benefits list, which in the bundle of benefits is also the list of problems these benefits solve. There is a need to design a benefit that also does not annoy.

For example, I would like a pocket on the side of the bag to carry a water bottle, however in the airport this pocket needs to disappear so the bas is small enough to be a carryon if a person wishes. The problem is the size, yet there is a benefit to a side pocket.

I get on hundreds of Backpack sites; they continually talk about their trips and do not explain their backpack in specific details.

I have been surfing around trying to find a page that explains how to use seam tape, how to sew the tape on, do they glue it, or iron it on also, do they burn the edges of the fabric to seal, how man thread per inch, what patters of thread are used, it is truly a difficult task to find answers.

I guess my friend Gary is correct, I must accept I am too dumb to quit.

I Volunteered to be Cheated by Thailand Doctor

I Volunteered to be Cheated by Thailand Doctor
The only way to learn how not to be cheated in Thailand is to be cheated. I asked how much the Doctor cost, the nurse says 300 Baht, and then she added 8200 Baht for Laboratory Test.

I paid about 700 Baht for the same test in Guatemala, so about 10 times more expensive here in Thailand.

I think I screwed up; I should have got all my medical work done in Guatemala.

You never can trust a person from a country that think the USA people or Europeans are rich; they will not miss an opportunity to screw you.

The solution is this, and now I know, it is really and incredibly stupid on my part. And I say continuously and have learned this lesson 1000 time if not every minute of every day of my life while traveling. Ask how much before you buy or pay, I did not; therefore, I paid three times the cost.

The even more stupid part, I have a Thailand girlfriend that is a Pharmacist in a Hospital and I still was screwed by the Doctor. We have agreed, I will send her in to ask about prices, not together, we do this all the time on about anything, she goes in before me an ask the price while I walk around in the streets. Why is a Doctor any different from anyone else, they just want to screw people for more money.

The bottom line is this; people love to try to screw people they think are rich. I am always rich in these countries and they always try, I mean about 100 percent of the time, ok, maybe 99.

I did not ask before, I actually thought I could trust this nice Doctor; I truly do believe that the desire to cheat in the poorer countries is to the depths of their souls, many in the USA have just learned they cannot get away with it, and companies like Walmart put the you have to be stupid to buy stores out of business.

I have never understood greed, I do not think about taking money from people, I do not want to cheat people; I do not want people to pay too much for something. I on the other hand do know the majority of human flesh on the planet looks at this way,
“If I can make money and the person will pay, then why not?”

This is the attitude to me of Human Trash.

A person that expects more, or wants more than what is a fair days pay for a fairs day work using their skills is not my friend.

I one day hope there is an way to help people compare prices and shop around, there should be a list of prices for all the services provided by a Doctor listed to keep this profession in reality.

The solution, ask before you purchase, about anything in Thailand should be 10 times cheaper than the USA.

I truly am thinking if I needed an operation, I will return to the USA and pay for it, at least I know the Doctor is afraid of killing me and getting a huge malpractice suit. There is nothing to stop a Doctor from killing me with negligence here; there are no checks and balances.

There is a continuous sense of being cheated when traveling, it never ends, and there is always another person who wants to cheat me or charge extortion high prices.

I also know, I come from a Factory Worker Family, it is not my culture to argue with Doctors or Lawyers, I have to continually tell myself they are just crooks who get paid more, I should not respect them because they have more money than me, I know my brain is just as smart, if not ten times smarter than most Doctors and Lawyers, however my home culture impedes my willpower.

A person needs to know when they have trouble being strong, I have plenty of practice with Lawyers in the USA, I now have to remember to be strong and demand prices from Doctors.

I truly do not understand why people are so willing to take advantage when they have the opportunity.

A fool and his money are soon parted, I will continue to make foolish deals, however I will not be fooled again, this is why I say I volunteered, there are way to get great values in Thailand, however only after you learn the ropes.

If you think you can come to a poorer country and just buy off the shelf and get a great deal, then you are volunteering to be the next fool in line.

Am I an Ultralight Backpacking Person

Ultralight Backpacking
I Andy of HoboTraveler.com am an Ultralight Backpacking person, even though I carry over 90-130 pounds in three packs.

Bad knees, bad back, or just a wimp, there are reasons to be an Ultralight Backpacking person. It would be better to say I am an Optimized Weight Backpacker. I have Traveled up to two weeks with just my computer bag, and one time in Mexico for six weeks with a gym bag, the computer was inside. However, I believe the majority of Ultralight Backpacking people miss the goal of having a backpack, luggage or even a duffle bag.

On June 22, 2002, about six years ago I wrote a Tip in a Newsletter explaining ways to be an Ultralight Backpacker. This is not rocket science, it is common sense, to somehow reduce weight, to optimize what you have in your bag, to hopefully not throw away all the things you need.

Travel Tips on Cutting or Sawing off Gear in Pack

The goal is to have what you want, and sometimes I do find a few people who have what they need, but this is rare about 1 in 50. What you need to travel is a passport and an ATM Bank Card, after that all is luxury, that would be traveling the lightest But this is not a way to optimize your enjoyment of your life and travel, this is not a job, it is something I do for enjoyment, I am wanting the most amount of enjoyment out of my life for the least amount of money, I want to live an optimized life.

The less gear I travel with the more it cost, I will repeat…
“The less gear I travel with the more it cost.”
(Note: I do not buy gear in gear shops.)

The lighter my pack, the more it cost to travel, if you want to travel cheap, there are things you NEED. For example, you need a Mosquito Net so you can live in cheap rooms or camp, and a cooking kit to allow you to cook in your room or on the path. I carry a 3-dollar electric hotplate about one-half the year, I travel cheap, on a budget, and I make it work, I do not play delusional games.

ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKING IS GREAT FOR THE GEAR SHOPS
Ultralight Backpacking is expensive and extremely time consuming, however for the gear heads that buy gear as a hobby, however never use it, then the Ultralight Backpacking concept is a great idea. I am fully aware that 90 percent of people buy gear they never need.

Do not get confused here, there is a way the ultralight backpacking pages or people write that misses the goal, they throw out the baby with the soapy water.

I often ask tourist,
“Did you fall asleep in the gear shop?”
“I mean, do you live in a gear shop?”

I travel all the time, however I almost never go in a gear shop because it is a waste of energy, I do enter there to find ideas, and they go by the cheap globally available products, something I can buy anywhere on the planet, not in one country.

DO NOT CARRY EXTRA GEAR
Do you think I carry one thing in my pack I do not need? I even have a policy, if I do not wear a shirt for one month, I throw it out, if I have anything in my backpack besides my Mosquito net that I do not use for three months, I throw it out, it is rubbish, it become trash. If I do not touch it, it is gone.

I do not carry a Swiss Knife or a Leatherman because they weight too much and do not provide me the enjoyment of living I want, the Swiss Knife is incredibly dirty after eating and all the gear heads steal them or borrow and never give back. I personally use a knife to cut and a spoon and a normal fork to eat.

Here is one of the more interesting pages with many links for ultra light wimps, not the best place to learn how to travel the planet, however there are some great ideas on how to simplify or lighten up your load. Traveling the planet is radically different then going up into the mountains for two weeks, then going home, plus remember, you can live with nothing on our back for two weeks, and you do not need a backpack so going ultralight is easy.

The Value of Being a Bum

The Value of Being a Bum
I call myself a Hobo because I look for work, however the reality is people think of Hoboes as Bums. There is a lot of value in being a bum, nobody takes you serious.

I have time to sneak up on them and slap them silly.

I am 100 percent free, there is ZERO reason for me to dress up, or act nice, behave, or even be polite. I do believe in manners, however I am not going to lose my job is I tell all of you to go F$#K yourselves.

It is humorous to read comments or listen to people that are required to dress up in these funny outfits with a scarf tied around their necks, sometimes called a tie. I think to myself, this is no way for adults to live, there is more to life than living and dressing to kiss ass.

I was reading about two people last year here in Thailand and another person who say they are retired. However, they are not retired from kissing ass or asking, they are obligated to the man, I find I am retired, not sure about them.

There is also this idea, if you came home Andy, I understand why they say this and do empathize that they cannot empathize. However, I do not live in the USA and although it is a good choice, when I make decision I have 252 country choices and many protectorates, islands and other words to choose from, I do not have any need to choose the USA first, only if it works easier. I make choices from the Global Pool of countries.

If I wanted to buy leather products, I would not go to the USA, they are way to lazy to work with leather, it take a lot of time and hands on work, not what the USA is good at.

I for sure have taken American women totally off the list of prospective girlfriends or companions; they just do not make the grade, way down the list, maybe not even in the top 50 percent.

The USA speaks good English and the telephone system works great, I can call up and order products easy, this is a great tool and an advantage for the USA. However, the USA is double in price than 80 percent of the developing countries and Europe is triple the price.

I like the under-developed countries, they have the same products at half the price, life is easy, people are not so busy, and the quality of life is better for me.

I realize I have been retired and traveling for the last 10 years, and time and money, and the word USA does not enter into my reasoning. I can fully devote myself to a project without worries about whether it is costing too much. I have the biggest luxury on the planet; I have the time to enjoy my life. I never say I am too busy, because I am never too busy, in fact I am always looking for something more to do.

I personally think the people in the USA and Europe are sort of nuts, they are like a bunch of Lab Rats running in maze until they fall over dead.

If you try to be a bum, nobody takes you serious; I can walk in and out of a Hotel with no problem. I do not dress up to try to achieve status, I do not care, I want good service for everyone in the Hotel, not just for me if I dressed up in a suit and looked stupid.

I have been considering cleaning up the site, paying a person to make it better eye candy, however then people would like how it looks and not pay attention to the content. I want the content of the words to carry the story, if a person needs sold on packaging they should leave, click away and read any of the 1000’s of pretty packages that have no content, this is not my way.

I was talking to a friend about Obama, he is smooth, I think too smooth, people that are too smooth make my bullshit meter go off, I do not trust him, and I depend on my instincts for daily safety. I personally do not want to listen to black and white issues for four years, I want to listen or read about USA issues, all I ever hear is Obama is Black, or the Black vote, who cares, they should have been voting all along, they should not come out and support the country only when their Black man is in the game.

Like I said, a person reads that title, “HoboTraveler.com,” and think bum, this is a great asset, it is amazing how I can sneak in and steal their pie while they think they are smart, clever and looking good, to me they are looking like chumps.

Where are the Broad Bean Instructions

Where are the Broad Bean Instructions
I like to eat a food called Broad Beans, however I never can decide, should I eat that shell or husk thing, or am I suppose to pluck the Broad Bean out and then eat.

Broad Beans are common all over the planet, except maybe in the highly developed countries for rare reasons.

I need instructions with this food, am I suppose to eat with or without the husk thingy and will I die or just get horny?

Go figure, WIKI says,
“ Some also use fava beans as a natural alternative to drugs like Viagra.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vicia_faba

This quote needed a citation, maybe someone has money invested in Broad Beans or these Fava Beans.

This is a the packaging of some Broad Beans sold in the open all night, ready for Andy with Jet Lag 7-11 who needs something to eat or something to do. These cost 14 Baht or about 45 cents US, not the cheapest snack but not really processed, unless you mean salt. I can also buy these beans sold by the locals in plastic bags, probably about the same price but double the amount of beans.

There is normally two economies in a country, the very good deal of the local markets, or the packaged, marketing done for pro stores, processed, packaged and ready to make you feel safer if not silly. For sure food sold in the finer stores are guaranteed to be double the price, Foods sold in the best stores full of processed food that is not as healthy as street food.

I truly believe the world buys only packaging, I see all the best and worst restaurants full here in Thailand with people eating food that taste like white rice that sat in the crock pot too long, a.k.a Rice Cooker.

Mini-Skirt or Pants, Mini-Skirts or Pants... hmm, packaging sells.

Who Buys the Search Word Travel
I did a search for the word “Travel” on the internet, just was curious to see who is paying the big bucks to advertise. I am guessing a company or person must pay between 10-20 US Dollars per click to advertise.

I found a couple of well-funded advertisers that makes me laugh.
