Thamasart Rangsit University Apartment Hotel

Thamasart Rangsit University Apartment Hotel
“Apartelle”
I believe tomorrow I will move off of Khao San Road to an Apartment Hotel near Thamasart Rangsit University.

An apartelle is a an Apartment Hotel.

I want to explore the near-University-Hotel travel rooms situation, I know these Travel Room are often much better than living in Tourist Traps.

This Apartelle rents for 5500 Baht per month, however on daily basis it is 600, and weekly for 550 per day. The daily monthly rate is great, about 166 Baht per day. As I understand, one month lease, 15,000 Baht Deposit, and the price is great.

This is about five US Dollars per day, it has a huge apartment style room, Free Internet WIFI, TV, AIR, Balcony, Fitness Area and a Swimming Pool. Generally at 5 dollars per day, this is a great value in Bangkok, Thailand.

Funny part, this is not the cheaper end of Apartment Type rooms, a person can rent apartments as low as 1000-2000 per month.

I have realized for the last couple of years, if I went closer to an University, the quality of my short-term stays in countries would improve. There is also better internet, social life, and a more intelligent life overall.

I will leave on the 11 for Taiwan.

My Women from Tokyo

My Women from Tokyo
I just paid and purchased a ticket to Taiwan, then to Korea then to JAPAN, I am NOT going to Tokyo.

I am not going to Tokyo…
I am not going to Tokyo…
I will go to Fukuoka in the South.

However, there is an old song from an old rock group called Deep Purple that is blaring in my head.
“My Women from Tokyo”

Someone needs to tell me, I am sure I know, but someone needs to tell me, someone please tell me going to Tokyo because of this song just does not make sense.

A Song of my life, a song from age 18 should have nothing to do with me today, I know, but I can still hear the words,
“My Women from Tokyo”

My Women from Tokyo

Fly into the rising sun,
Faces, smiling everyone
Yeah, she is a whole new tradition
I feel it in my heart

My woman from tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from tokyo
Shes so good to me

Talk about her like a queen
Dancing in a eastern dream
Yeah, she makes me feel like a river
That carries me away

My woman from tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from tokyo
Shes so good to me

But Im at home and I just dont belong ...

So far away from the garden we love
She is what moves in the soul of a dove
Soon I shall see just how black was my night
When were alone in her city of light

Rising from the neon gloom
Shining like a crazy moon
Yeah, she turns me on like a fire
I get high

My woman from tokyo
She makes me see
My woman from tokyo
Shes so good to me

Hmm, I can understand the words, and there is a melody.

My Women from Tokyo

Two People do Not Need Airport Shuttle in Developing World

Two People do Not Need Airport Shuttle in Developing World
The first world does a number on the brains of its people, they are losing their ability to think and reason. Taxis are cheaper than Airport Shuttles in Thailand, more convenient, and with three people there is an obvious savings of time and money.

Here is a business in Thailand, there are businesses that are thriving and growing, all on the ignorance of the developed worlds culture inability to think.

"Ooops, nobody told me I was in a cheap country where I do not need to Tip"
"Ooops, I forgot, I came to Thailand for a cheap vacation."

First, note the days of the Lone Ranger, the independent traveler, the person who travels alone is coming to an end. Very few people are traveling in Thailand solo, the majority are small groups from two to four people together on a trip. It appears there is nothing scary about traveling the planet, easy to talk others into joning the group.

Buying inconvenience, hard to believe but it sells well here on Khao San Road, and they are setting up other booths all around this area.

Taxis in Bangkok are luxurious and cheap, I mean extremely cheap, they are cheaper than a Tuk Tuk. The price of a Taxi from the airport to Khao San Road is about 300 Baht if you take the expressway in a the middle of the worst traffic jam, this is about the maximum needed to pay.

I am normally pay right around 220 Baht (six dollars) from the Airport to Khao San Road, porthole to porthole, providing I do not believe any signs in the airport that says airport taxis are cheaper or better, which for sure is not true, and helps if I stay off the toll road expressway.

(Note, I walk up to the arrival area, I almost never look for a taxi as I deboard a plane, I go up where people are checking in to leave, and grab a taxi where they just arrived. I am way beyond wanting to figure out how an airport works for taxis, I know they are up to no good.)

So really two people can walk out their hotel, flag down a taxi that is moving, never a sitting there waiting taxi, these are the crooks. The taxis that are moving are cooler, the air conditioning is running, the taxi is happy, and say,
“Airport.”

Well, Tuk Tuks and Airport shuttle buses thrive on Khao San Road even though the Taxis are a much better value for the money and twice as fast.

Note, the Taxi are a little on the cheat side, you have to demand and say METER, but this is anywhere the world, say Meter and make sure the dingaling turns it on. If he does not, fights you, get out and grab the next one.

There are countries like in Turkey where the meters are not to be trusted, you need to ask a few people, are the Taxi meters ok, every country is different.

Nobody Goes to Those Countries Guidebook

Nobody Goes to Those Countries Guidebook
I was spoiled, I started my travels in Central and South America, a person could pick up a used guidebook for pennies. Khao San Road here in Bangkok, has a huge selection, however my selection of countries has changed, I am going off the path farther, plus BKK is expensive for books.

I have been asking for Guidebooks in Bangkok,
They say,
“NO HAVE.”

Thai people say this with a nasty twang, like
“Hey Farang, why are you bothering me….?”

Ok, I was looking around for Papua New Guinea Guides, impossible, I was hoping to find Oceania, not a good prospect,

(Does everyone go ONLY to Australia, this country is surrounded by other countries?)

I change my travel mind path, I am now going North to Japan and Korea… Hard to find Japan, I found one, they want a small fortune for a two week trip, I do not collect guidebooks, I dump them, I sell them, I lose them… I also use them…

I have been checking out the Lonely Planet buy by the Chapter PDF files, this is going to save me a lot of money. I purchased the one chapter on the area of Pucallpa, Peru, this worked out fine. I am not looking at one or two areas in Japan and the same for Korea. It looks like this will cost me about 12 dollars instead of the 50 U.S. for USED books, a true saving.

Working out good Lonely Planet, now if you would just continue to update your books and stop spinning off others, update please.

Lonely Planet by the Chapter you need to go to Wikipedia.org and study a map to know which chapters to buy though.

If that breaks, and I suspect it will over time, go to
http://www.lonelyplanet.com

Ok, Lonely Planet, send me cash, send me a guidebook, or better yet, update your books. I mean, I want more hotels and cheaper ones, I am a traveler, not a flashpacker, I do not need more Facts, Wikipedia.org is doing much better, Thanks, Please.

Sneaky Ways to get Comments on Blog

Sneaky Ways to get Comments on Blog
There is this inane idea that a lot of comments on a blog means your blog is good.

The more comments the more I know I was preaching to the Choir, people comment on what they already know about. I try to give tips on things you never thought about… hehehe

Ok, want to appear to be popular in the eyes of the unknowing masses?

It is easy, make sure you only blog one time per day. The regulars will comment on the one blog post, they will accumulate faster, and it will look to the unknowing masse like you, and you wrote a good post that elicited comment. Gong!

I have no limits, I think I could make 50 blog post per day without a problem. They would all make sense to me, however everything I write make 100 percent sense to me.

Controversy and spin, be a liar, that will also work, say that comment that makes people hate you, like,
“I truly think George W. Bush did his best.”
(I truly believe he did.)

Or the reverse with a twist.
“I think Gay people should be allowed to marry and adopt children, then become the teachers in the local elementary school.”
(I 100 percent do not want this to happen.)

Note, I try not to do this, however there are times when I do not blog every day, there are times when I say a controversial comment. Anger, there are a lot of angry people out there looking at computer screens.

Hello Mom and Dad,

In my view, the job of the United States President is to protect me and the USA Citizens from harms way. He or she is responsible for protecting me from all comers, from good and bad, the President is my King, the person I need to trust to keep me safe.

World Opinion of the USA is really of about ZERO value, it is not really important whether they like the President, in fact it probably better they are afraid of the President. I am positive the world is afraid of George W. Bush, I hear this in the voice of every European who ever says the words, George W. Bush.

We need the,
“Speak softly and carry a big stick mentality.”
Theodore Roosevelt

I feel a lot of shame about our present Republican administration, however, not about the war, I think the war is just a big police action annoyance, that needed to happen to stop a possible Nuclear War between Israel and Iraq. However, the management of the Oil Situation has been close to impeachable negligence.

Every day the wealth of the USA is being sent to Opec Nations, a bunch of dictatorships and monarchies who wish to rule the world. There should have been severe gas rationing places on the nation of the USA to drive down the consumption of oil, and stablize world oil and energy.

Nobody like the boss, the boss tells people what to do, I think McCane would tell me what to do, therefore he would make a good boss.

Obama represents new energy, a great thing, I would truly love to have the Euro Trash stop talking about the President of the USA in a negative and bigoted way, Obama is my man.

I just do not know, I think voting for Obama would be the same as Voting for Gay Marriage, or saying a Mike Tyson the Boxer should run the Olympics.

I semi-hope Obama wins, it would be nice to have NO real substance in a President, just a good glad hand, a good baby kisser, a something every black, gay, liberal and wimp on the planet would love.

If Obama would win, the heat would be off the USA for maybe two years, or at least until the Black people of the USA start to riot because they learned they voted for a black person that cannot deliver the goods.

I do not believe minority want equality, I believe they want revenge and dominance. The minorities in the USA believe Obama is going to allow them to rule the country, Obama is selling them fantasy and spin.

The President of the USA just does not have the power to get crap done inside the USA.

However, it would be great for the minorities to have their President, this would empower them for about two years, while all the majority has to listen and shake their head in disgust. Then after that, when Obama does not deliver the Golden Calf, they will hopefully recognize, the President of the USA is powerless in their daily life.

I truly believe the United State President has about zero influence on my life, I make 100 percent of my decisions, I am 100 percent responsible. The minorities of the planet have mass hysteria of dysfunctional belief systems that makes them believe there is a savor coming to save them. He give us the power, it is our job to use it, we already have it.

Who would I vote for the President of the USA?

An Old man or the Gay Friendly Obama?

I am not going to have to make this decision, because I am not going to vote in this election. There is just no real problem with either Candidate, in the last Election, it was very obvious that Kerry was the worst possible candidate for President, a person needed to vote for Bush to protect the USA from pure Kerry idiocy.

I think the USA needs some big repair work, it needs some tough times, and the tougher the time, the stronger the people will be afterwards. I think the USA economy needs a recession, we need some checks and balance to happen, we need difficult times whereby the people of the USA can stop being wimps, and engage in life…

Someone needs the will to say,
“Hey you, stop playing with your cell phone and get to work.”

I think time need to get tougher before they get better.

I am a recovering alcoholic, many people ask me what they should do about their alcoholic friend or mate, I say,
“Send them a case of Whiskey.”

Help them to get worst, so they can get better. Help the alcoholic to hit bottom.

I guess I want the USA to hit a bottom, therefore the best vote would be for Obama. I think he has zero ability to lead us in war, and there will be riots in the streets from his black voters when he does not deliver the goods.

What does he know about the economy, it appears to be zip.

The good part, if he could help implement a USA Health plan that would cover me, this would be great, however that is me voting with my pocketbook.

In the end, flip a coin, heads for McCane, tails for Obama, when it lands, do not look at it…

The thought that cross your mind while the coin is rolling and flipping in the air is who you want, you will naturally wish for the candidate you truly believe is best.

I flip a coin a lot, I do not care what the result are, I know while the coin is in the air I will suddenly wish for one side to win.

Truly the President of the USA is not an important issue, however a great sport of conversation. The USA government is one of he worlds most stable countries, it is the building block for all other countries, it is the foundation, it will survive. No president of the USA can destroy the government of the people, by the people.

Wanna have a problem, be in Thailand when the King dies, there could be complete chaos, riots, wars, and mass killings of between the political parties. If I am in Thailand when the King dies, I will be on the first bus out of this country.

If Obama wins, I will still come home.

If Colin Powell is the running mate of McCane, I am 100 percent ready to vote for McCane.

Politics is not about making good decisions, it about making decision to choose the best of two bad decisions. A politician never gets to make a good decision, they chose the better of two bad ones. Same here, make a choice, the better of two bad choices.

Who to Vote For President of the USA

Morning Alms for Thailand Buddhist Monks

Morning Alms for Thailand Buddhist Monks
Here in Thailand between the hours of sunrise and maybe ending at about 8:00 am in the morning, Buddhist Monks collect Alms from people.

Buddhism is a peaceful religion, it reminds me often of African Animism “the belief systems that attribute souls or spirits to animals, plants and other entities, in addition to humans. Animism may also attribute souls to natural phenomena, geographic features, everyday objects, and manufactured articles”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animism

Worship has many forms, and for the average person on the planet, it is easier to give reverence to a Monk, Church, Crucifix, or Altar and many other holy objects than to a voice from the sky, that they may or may not hear.

Most everything in Thailand seems to get a Y from the hand of the Thailand people.

This women was kneeling a long time here, in this situation she was down for about 3-5 minutes.

Every morning, if you rise early in the morning, walk around in Thailand, rain or shine, the Monks will be out collecting their Alms.

We Suggest you Carry a Guidebook

We Suggest you Carry a Guidebook
I have been playing around, I have learned that many travel sites say,
“We suggest you carry a guidebook.”

Guidebooks weigh a lot.
Guidebooks cost a lot.

Where am I supposed to carry a guidebook?

Do they want me carry the guidebook in my hands for the whole trip?

Would you please suggest where I am suppose to carry this huge book.

I carry a guidebook, I want a guidebook, it is the only FAST source of information on Cheap Room and Maps of the City, they cost nothing, they save money, plus hours of walking looking for room. Plus the internet still sucks for finding hotel rooms.

Playing around, thinking about my Windmill Backpack, it still is begging the question,
“Where do I carry the Guidebook?”

Backpack are not made to carry guidebooks, they are made to go hiking and maybe carry a map. Is there any backpacks on the market that have a special compartment especially made for a guidebook. Is there truly a Traveler Backpack?

Please also suggest where I can carry a guidebook, that is easy to reach, I can put in and out of my bag fast, I do not want to stop, place my bag on the ground.
