I am tired of Travel Fantasies

I am tired of Travel Fantasies
I need to think about this more, however I believe readers have watched too many movies, television shows, and read too many books with no clear base in reality.

How can a person understand honesty, they have been trained to accept and believe fantasy.

Wikpedia.org gives an example of fantasy as “The Lord of the Rings.”

Maybe I think this movie is great.
Maybe I think this movie is terrible.

I know one thing; everyone has an opinion about the movie the Lord of the Rings that they will defend.

What we read, what we watch on television, what CNN, BBC, and FOX television says is more credible than the truth.

Travel Fantasy
I think what happens is this, a person watches a documentary, or movie, and they talk it over with a few friends at the bar. People agree because they truly cannot deny or disagree, there is no way to know, so the best stance is to just nod our heads.

The opinion stops being an opinion and become a fact; they begin talking in an authoritative way that feels credible.

Well, what is difficult of me is this, I can sit around listening to a person tell me about the world, and I ask,
“Have you been there?”
Example: Banaue Rice Terraces

They say no, I then think to myself,
“Why is this person so confident they are right?”

What becomes sillier, I sense I must justify my knowledge, nobody trust anybody. I pointed at the Wikipedia.org link because it explains the Banaue Rice Terraces great. Why would I confuse people and write about it, or explain it, where this is great rather truthful encyclopedia article.

Unless, I wanted to create a fantasy interpretation of the place, somehow act as if I know the place better than Wikipedia.org explains.

Here are my links, they are five years old, and there is no clear reason for me to show you these links, other than to prove I was there. Moreover, because I do not photograph myself in the Photos, again people do not trust.

Banaue Rice Terrace on my site 1
Banaue Rice Terrace on my site 2
Banaue Rice Terrace on my site 3
Banaue Rice Terrace on my site 4

It is tiresome, there is a comment,
“You have to be a friend to have a friend.”

I will say this,
“You need to be honest, to trust an honest person.”

The general goal of the people on Planet Earth is to be clever. There is no way for honesty to win the day.

Who Owns These Philippines Homes

Who Owns These Philippines Homes
What is the stereotypical people from the Philippines who own these homes?

There are two homes perched on the side of an oblique hill, about 400 meters from the ocean. These homes are about 3 kilometers from Bauang and 7 kilometers from San Fernando, Philippines in the province of La Union.

There is mysterious money in the Philippines, I have never met a person who was rich here and many Expats say things to me,
“This girl in the restaurant earns 200 peso per day.”
- Four Dollars U.S.

I was told the other day,
“How much do you think the Doctors make per day in Lorma?”
I said,
“My guess is about 1500-2500 Pesos.”
- 30-50 Dollars U.S.
The man said,
“500.”
- 10 Dollars U.S.

Who knows what is correct, but somebody has the money to build these types of homes here in the Philippines and I do not think it is the Expats. Generally, the Expats here are not at the top of the food chain.

This is both and excellent and a crazy place to build a home. It is excellent because incredibly difficult to reach by a trike, jeepney or a person who wants to build a squatters house. To have a private home, separated from the many ugly homes, a person has to choose a location that is geographically remote.

The problem then comes along, a person is indeed remote and a hermit, no neighbors, and an easy victim for gang robbery.

This is what was immediately in front of me when I took the above two photos. This rice is beautiful and covers most of the open terrain in the Philippines. I used my Canon 20 X Zoom Camera to take these photos.

Who owns these homes, in my experience, the normal way of becoming wealthy in impoverished and corrupt countries is to be connected with the government. Then when you are connected, you can control business, employment, taxes and wangle you way to money.

I often think the small homes that are extremely nice came from money sent by Western Union to the family. There for sure are many Seamen and labor workers in Dubai, etc.

The Philippines in my opinion fails to use the cheap hands of their people for mass production of products to be sold to the world. I think they do mass-produce many products for domestic use, but these products probably are too expensive for shipping out of the country.

Normally, mass wealth in poor countries comes when a person controls the import or export lane. If they can get money every time something enter or leaves, they make money.

This is the Robin Hood and the toll bridge story…

The President or Dictator in Lome, Togo, West Africa gets about 50 US Dollar per car that enters the port. The cars come in for Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger and maybe Mali at this port.

I am dwelling on an issue Hoz brought up,
“how to meet nice people?”

I am thinking how to I meet Filipino people closer to my educational level; I think they all move to Manila, one of the worst places to live on the planet…. Oops. Migration to the cities is rampant, I will sure be glad when the tides of people change directions.

Nice people?
Church…
Coffee Shop, the yuppie types
Canteens close to schools.
(Truly the best of the best never interface my world, and I walk around constantly, not sure where they hang out, I think they hide.)

Rich People?
- Stop a SUV car and tell them to get out.
- Expensive restaurants
- Expensive Hotels

I find the rich people or Expats do not normally get near a Jeepney, and I truly love the Jeepneys here in Bauang. What a cultural education to travel between the cities of Bauang and San Fernando. The Jeepneys in La Union are truly the highest and best form or transportation here, not made for fat American though, the step up is a killer.

The keep-up-with-the-Jones problem extreme here the Philippines, if a person has money, they want status, and they have the desire to not associate with any poor people. To be seen together is out of the question. I know me, I want to meet all social levels, I want to meet the country, not the best piece of the pie off the top. I truly have not need for social status, and this just seems to me to be a sign of low self-esteem or status bigotry.

On the other hand, I came this time to avoid all the crap, but when I leave my great hotel, I am in the Philippines, when I return home… I am in Australia, the owner is Australian.

I Live a Dream Life - I am Grateful

I Live a Dream Life - I am Grateful
“Heads, Carolina Tails, California.”

This is truly my life, I can do anything I want, “whenever wherever.”

I sometimes become incredibly grateful, I am told to remember to be grateful because grateful people do not get drunk. I am recovering alcoholic who for one day a time has stayed sober for 22 years. I almost died, I did not die, I now am living.

I know one of you reading this is sitting in an office, bored out of your brain, hoping to find the escape hatch. When you find your dream, you will stop dreaming, you will be living the dream.

I am such a lucky man, I live a dream life, I am so grateful the good Gods have given me this life. I never dream of doing something else, sometimes I dream about having a million dollars. However, what would I do different?

Hire more Taxis.
Eat more Pizza.
Buy more computer toys.
Go to Afghanistan, yes, this I would do, before it becomes boring. ( I do not have the money today, maybe tomorrow!)
Live in an expensive hotel in Tokyo, Japan, New York, City and San Paulo, Brazil.

Please read the word to this song, I think they describe your feeling, they describe your dream. Sometimes I want to push people, I want to shove them, I want them to live and not die a slow death.

------------------------------------------------

Baby, what do you say we just get lost?
Leave this one horse townlike two rebels without a cause.
I got people in Boston.
Ain't your daddy still in Des Moines?
We can pack up tomorrow.
Tonight, let's flip a coin

Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.
Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin'
Somewhere together. I've got a quarter.
Heads, Carolina Tails, California.

We can load what we own in the back of a U-haul van.
Couple modern day Moses', searchin for the promised land.
We can go four hundred miles before we stop for gas.
We can drive for a day, and then we'll take a look at the map.

Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.
Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin'
Somewhere together. I've got a quarter.
Heads, Carolina Tails, California.

We're gonna get outta here if we gotta ride a Greyhound bus.
Boy, we're bound to outrun the bad luck that's tailin' us

Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.
Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin'
Somewhere together. I've got a quarter.
Heads, Carolina Tails, California.

O---oh, California! Carolina! California!

Boracay Philippines Bypass Manila

Boracay Philippines Bypass Manila
The world of Tourism is changing fast with the internet, I can fly with CebuPacificAir.com from Bangkok for between 100-150 U.S. Dollars one-way which is about half the price of Philippines Air. I do not need to stay in Manila.

I briefly explained in East Africa that I was bypassing Nairobi, Kenya, as I did not see any reason to stop in this city. I see no reason to stop in large cities on the way to better destinations, the world has changed, and it is time for all of us to change.

MONEY - IT IS CHEAPER
The kicker is this, I can stop in Manila and stay at the Malate Pensionne. I would pay 750 Peso and stay in a fan room with no WIFI or I can continue onto Boracay and pay 600 for a Fan room in the
The Orchids Resort with WIFI, etc and so on, and so forth.

I know the Malate area of Manila, I have a few good friends there, however, if this were my first time to the Philippines, I would surely skip the place.

I need to sit in one place, one hotel, and think, relax, work on my websites and give my back a break. However, who knows, I may decide to go somewhere less touristy; I am getting panicky just thinking about the tourist Island of Boracay.

July 4 in USA 2009
The USA citizens are a lucky bunch of stiffs; they are naïve as to what the rest of the planet has to tolerate from their governments. We as USA citizens think our government abuses us; however, the truth is we are the best of the bunch; we tolerate the least amount of abuse on the planet.

The fourth of July is the date when the USA told England, it was enough; we will not tolerate abuse anymore.

Example: I am in Thailand, one of the better countries on the planet. However, an Australian was incarcerated for talking about this government.

I wrote something last year, I removed it because I was afraid of going to prison in Thailand.

It is dangerous to write this.

I am grateful my Mother has never had a big fat Mexican police officer come up to her and ask for money. Why, because the person had the power and abused it. This happened to me in Mexico.

I am grateful my Mother never had a police officer enter here Hotel and say to leave the city. This happened to me in Colombia.

I am grateful my Mother has never had a police officer come to her door, demand she open it her Hotel door, and ask,
“Why are you here?”
This happened to me in India.

I am grateful my mother never had a police officer ask
“Why are you taking photos?”
This happened to me in Niger, West Africa.

I am grateful my mother has never live in a Hotel room, had a person bang on the door, not announce themselves, not explain, and demand you open the door.
“This happened to me in Hong Kong.”

I watched as my friend Rishi had a Maoist enter his business, ask him for money and him too afraid to say anything.
I saw this in Kathmandu, Nepal.

I daily see police officers with Machine Guns; it is so common I do not even pay attention. I never saw a large machine gun until I left the USA.

Why is the USA hated by many countries on the planet, including Canada and Europe? Because the USA says,
“Stop abusing your people.”

Of course there is abuse by the USA government, however it is the still less than any other country I know.

What do I know; I have only visited 85 countries and live in each one of them for 1-5 months…?

I am not sure if I can ever live in the USA again, I am not sure I can listen to them complain, nothing worst than listening to a bunch of ungrateful people. Truly clueless and naïve, just a bunch of lucky sperms.

I am going to the Philippines today, it is the country where I learned the term."Extrajudicial Killing." I hope my Mother and Father have no idea what this means, I hope my nieces, and nephews are uneducated.

The right to bear arms was an attempt to stop "extrajudicial killing."

I have been thinking about this for the last year, and my present need for money has pushed me through the Hotel (Resort) door. The economic situation has decreased my money by about 30-60 percent and truly hampers plans for Africa trips.

For the first 1-3 years of my 11 years of travels, I offset the cost of traveling by trading a free webpage for a room I am returning to the well.

Today I sat down and wrote letters to Hotels on Boracay Island in the Philippines. I consider this one of the best ways to fund an around world trip and now I am going to prove it. Wade from VagabondJourney.com has already made trades of submission on HoboHideOut maybe 10 times.

I need to Beta Test this system… fine-tune it, remove the problems and simplify, therefore going out and doing it is a good idea for the site and me.. and set up support for wanna be Hoboes to learn how to do this.

I have written this letter to five resorts in Boracay, and will continue to write letters until I close a deal, or I will go knock on doors.

Unemployment 2009

Unemployment 2009
9-10 percent unemployment in the USA, every tenth person is not working, is this true? I have been told for years this is the standard unemployment rate in France, Spain and Germany.

I want to know, has there been a reduction in beer drinking or increase?

If the amount of beer drank on Planet Earth has decreases, I will feel confident the world economy is in trouble. In my life experience, I have slowly realized most problems are more psychological than tragic.

I have visited 85 countries, I have traveled the planet for perpetually for over 11 years, I have never seen a person starve to death. I have never seen a person close to starving to death. I have read about this for years, I will testify and witness it is hard to find.
