Transliteration If Bad Spelling Make you Angry

Transliteration If Bad Spelling Make you Angry
I sometime muse about totally annoying my readers with transliteration of words. I have to admit, I somewhat enjoy annoying readers with bad spelling and grammar.

Well, if bad spelling makes you angry, then the spelling of words tranliterated would surely drive you insane... none to early in my opinion.

Transliteration is a wonderful word for me, it was a happy day in my life where I learned this word.

TRANSLITERATION
“Transliteration is the practice of transcribing a word or text written in one writing system into another writing system or system of rules for such practice.”

If there is a Chinese word, there is maybe the English equivalent, for cities and countries it is relatively easy to find the English word for a city that is really different than what we know about.

There is a lot of meaning lost in Transliteration, it makes the phrase “Lost in Translation” seem like an act of clarity.

I do enjoy annoying readers with spelling and grammar problems I have when writing a Blog post. I find it intriguing how intolerant people are of other people on the planet, how they often living in a vacuum whereby all extraneous stimulation is gone. I believe people who have a problem with grammar or spelling truly believe,
“They are perfect, and everyone else should be also.”

If there is one thing I am positive about, it the fact that nobody is perfect. I can say this with perfect wisdom, or maybe I can…

When living in the USA, I have a probability of understanding about 30 percent of what other people say to me, if I am truly good listener, I can maybe understand the intention up to 70 percent.

Whey I travel, the understanding of the intentions and desire of other people may drop to 10 percent or zero.

It is funny to walk into a super market here in Taiwan, try to buy an egg, and with all my communicative power not be able to find out the price of 10 eggs. I do not care if I do not speak the language, I do not just pick up any item on the planet and try to give money, which to me is an anal solution to this problem.

However, humans will naturally get what they want, one way or another with the least amount of emotional anguish or frustration.

This is the fun of bad spelling, it causes emotional anguish and frustration with the least amount of work on my part. I guess really, it takes no work for me to do this, I do it naturally.

The computer of the planet are not perfect, I enjoy language, however avoid trying to go into detail about the problems of learning a language. The reason is simple, I would need to put words on a page that would cause gibberish to show up on the page. I know that all the systems of recreating characters of languages are not going to work when you finally read the word.

Here is a test, some of you may or many not be able to read the Chinese characters below.

A Chinese phrase is pasted below, I believe some of you are going to see some garbled mess of characters.
------------------------------------------
BELOW IS CHINESE WORDS
------------------------------------------

???????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????

------------------------------------------
ABOVE IS CHINESE WORDS
------------------------------------------

If you can read the Characters than then life is good, note however this is just a character problem, it is not a transliteration problem, that would indeed make spelling problems magnify, along with the lost in translation problem.

How to Prepare for a Taiwan Typhoon

How to Prepare for a Taiwan Typhoon
I said in prior post,

Typhoon Sinlaku is supposed to be here soon, nobody seems to excited here in Taipei, Taiwan.”

However, they do seem to be taking some precaution I was not aware of until this morning here in Taipei, Taiwan.

I am in the TaiwanMex Hostel here in Taipei, Taiwan, hostels are normally some type of Home transformed into a small dormitory with a few single rooms. There is normallya shared shower because we are in a Home, not a Hotel, therefore the showers and toilets situations can be quite novel.

I woke up this morning, took my great big beach size towel, wrapped it around me and went for the shower. (Note, I would under no condition use one of them quick dry towels.)

Hmm, the shower stall seem to be roped up, and tied down the eighth floor balcony deck in preparation for Typhoon Sinlaku. I truly do not know, it may have already past, it is still windy, rainy, and blustery though, I guess I can sleep through a Typhoon.

I guess I need to go look for Raul and ask him,
“Will the shower blow off the roof if I untie them to take a shower?”

Or worst yet,
“Will it blow away with me in it showering?”

Bangkok Airport is for Cows

Bangkok Airport is for Cows
People in Airports remind me of cows in the tramp shed waiting to be milked. They stand around in straw and manure, they are not to bright, and generally just look dazed chewing their cud. Nothing bother a cows, they will put up with about anything, as they are not aware of their surroundings.

The new Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport is an Architectural nightmare, why do Architects have so many problems, is the modern man totally incapable of empathy. There are 1000’s of Airports on the planet, the world spends millions and billions of dollars on Airports, I think they should be comfortable.

However, the cows in the airport never know they are in a Tramp Shed wallowing in their own excrement.

I need to sit around many an hours in the Bangkok, Airport waiting for flights, I am truly amazed they can design and airport this uncomfortable.

I keep waiting for the people to start to Moo.

Ok, I do wish to admit, they did greatly improve on the arrival gates, and the check in counters are nice, however where the people spend the bulk of their time is a mess.

Saving Money to Travel for Years

Saving Money to Travel for Years
How much money do you need to perpetually travel internationally for the rest of your life?

Hehehe, very simple to calculate.

You need to take the amount of money you will earn in one year, multiplied this times the number of years you expect to live.

However, this is WRONG, you are way off track

First thing you have to tell learn, remember and get through some very dense skulls is this,
“You are NOT on Vacation.”

A vacation is when you stop working and take a trip, you travel, however I am 100 percent sure a retired person on a pension can travel easily for the rest of their life.

Ok, back on topic, there are a couple major variables and one variable Americans you just cannot empathize with well.

1. How much is the cost of living in the countries you wish to visit?
(American and Europeans think they need American money to live in another country.)

2. Where are you going to work?

Oops, I think this is the big kicker, really what people dream of doing is not working, they do not dream so much about travel, they want not work and live the good life. More or less be the rich and famous and lie around on Yachts looking at bikinis.

Now if you are a reasonable person, you may understand the critical problem here is your perspective. If you can for stop and think, and change your focus from perpetual vacation to perpetual travel and work, you may be able to start your trip.

However, back to the fist variable,
“1. How much is the cost of living in the countries you wish to visit?”

Take a trial run, think and choose one country you want to visit. Ok, I am going to say Ecuador, South America just for an example. I will not go visit this link on Wikipedia.org

Minimum Wages by Country

Ecuador is…. Ooops, too funny.
4,993 U.S. Dollars per YEAR

4,993 divided by 365 days is 13.68 per day

(Note, I have been to Ecuador maybe five to eight time and this statistic really is fishy, my guess is more like 2000.)

However, for the sake of argument, use the number of 13.68 per day.

Can you go to this country and earn 13.68 per day?
I would almost for sure say,
“Yes.”

You can go and teach English, not maybe your favorite job on the planet or mine either, however it is a job, and you can do it and go live in Ecuador.

Now maybe you are saying to yourself, I do not want to go live in Ecuador, I want to Nomadically wander around the planet in a complete state of wonder. I think you than need to ask yourself,
Can I find a Nomadic job, that travels with me?”

Ok, I work on the internet, I have a nomadic traveler job, when I earned my fist five dollars in one day, I said to myself,
“I can travel for the rest of my life.”
I was very happy, I knew I had the minimum amount of money for perpetual travel. And, I knew I could continue to work and raise this number until I could live in any country.

The whole point of this post is to tell you,
“Stop thinking about saving money to go on Vacation.”

Think of how to work while traveling and you will be a Hobo. A Hobo is not a bum, they traveled from place to place looking for jobs. This I see is the essential problems of most people who consider traveling the planet, they want to be a bum, not a Hobo.

The ticket is great, I can change the dates as many times as I wish in one year, so I am not strangled by the ticket, I cannot change the path though.

Taiwan is great, I am in a Hostel called the Taiwanmex.com, I was here before and the Husband Wife team Raul and Magos are great, they have a son Raulito or little Raul running around a five year old and full of energy. There are two separate building, I am the one where the family resides, nice to see a family.

Raul is from Mexico and Mago is from Taiwan, ergo the Taiwan-Mex or Taiwan-Mexico.

I have my own private room with WIFI, and life is good, not sure on the prices exactly, will figure that one out and explain. Very good location next to the Main Taipei Transport Station so in the center of the city of wagon wheel.
