Travel Tip

How to know you are typing the correct password when you cannot see it?

Type the password next to the email address, cut and paste it into the password box.

I work on the computer in some strange places, here in Peru I need to type Alt 6 4 just to make the @ sign. When I am in Africa, the French computers have their alphabet in different locations.

I Need a Vacation from Work

I Need a Vacation from Work
I have said many times, the secret to happiness is to do more fun things in a day than sad things. In the last week I have had a never ending list of problems to solve, nothing has gone correctly or easily, I am beat. (hmm beatnik)

I was laughing, Robin who I was planning to meet in Kenya Africa wrote and said she did not want to go the Congo, she thinks is will be an "ordeal." I was laughing when I read the word, for sure any person who lives on planet earth has days when life is an ordeal, where the pain of the day is more than the pleasure. She is 100 percent correct, going across the DRC Congo would be an "ordeal." I was laughing, for sure going to the "no contacted tribe" area was an ordeal. She is correct, if she does not want to do this ordeal, she should not, there is no reason to travel, it is for enjoyment.

I was laughing, my life the last couple of weeks has been an ordeal, ironic that she chose the best word to describe the last few weeks of my life.

I live in world that is very controllable, however the only way to control it is by making good choices or leaving, I knew the week in the jungle would be an ordeal, I expected it to be.

I finally went to the Doctor yesterday here in Lima, I have a nodule, I do not know the correct word in English. The doctor says it is either a piece of fat or inflamed nerve, I get three injections while in Pucallpa, Peru. The Doctor here in Lima said there was no danger, it is just painful. I was OK with this, because the pain is 50 percent less than it was two months ago, I am actually doing great compared to then.

- Computer Breaks
- Nodule that prods my sciatic nerve continuously
- Robin cancels, she did this before I purchased 1000 dollars worth of tickets, so this is very good news, I have not changed any plans for because of her, just was making possible plans.
---- Now I do not know where to go, or what to do.
- No friends, all my conversations are functional, not interesting.
- I want to fly to Bogota, Colombia, the ticket is 450 US Dollars one-way... expensive, I can fly to the USA for the same price.
- I get some reader who wants me to be politically correct.

H.A.L.T.

There is a saying to never get to Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired. I have hit all them in the last two weeks, including the Hungry, the food in Brue was the pits.

Highly Developed Human Minds See Consequences

Highly Developed Human Minds See Consequences
The influence of my life has real consequences on other peoples lifes.

Example, I Blogged that I liked the Pretty House Hostel here in Lima, Peru.

The consequence is my friend Bill from Iquitos, Peru is now here in the same Lima, Peru Hotel.

I truly despise reading Travel Writers, I know the majority of them lie, therefore the consequences of me reading their crap is I may trust them, travel half way across a country to learn they lied.

To have the ability to connect our actions today, with the consequences to other people in the future is a sign of highly developed mind. Then if the person also cares, then we start to have some person of consequence on the planet.

When a person knows the consequences of their actions, knows they will cause harm to another person, and still proceeds, now you have a dangerous person.

Manana on Computer in Peru

Manana on Computer in Peru
Manana literally means tomorrow in Spanish, and for sure only a crazy man would trust Latinos to do exactly as they say. It is time for my computer to be finished, I am frustrated, I either need to start working without a computer or with a computer, this manana crap never ends.

EDIT---

The computer is back two hours after the time he said, it appears to be working great, the cost was great only 40 US Dollars, but I paid 60, so I am very happy. I would recommend him to about anyone, however I also think you should live in the Pretty House Hostel so you have the full range of support to get these types of jobs done in Peru. The family at the Pretty House recommended Roberto and the whole group had a stake in this.

The final conversation we had, he said,
"The problem with Techies in Peru is they are liars."
"They will just replace part after part."
I said,
"Todo the mundo."
"The whole world."
"I know this, therefore I am very afraid when someone wants to help me."

I went to great lengths to guarantee I was choosing the right person, I was lucky, and I am sure the majority of readers will not do well with these projects when they travel.

Peru Computer Hard Drive Problem

Peru Computer Hard Drive Problem

I have an intelligent techie fixing my computer, I am very lucky to find him, and I will know if I am truly lucky when I get the computer back. He is restoring many damaged files, a very complicated and time consuming process.

My WIFI stopped working correct in Pucallpa, I was able to make it work by opening the computer case near the button. While I was doing that, I accidentally disruppted the hard drive while it was running. Because I did not have enough extra memory space available on the computer, the self checking and repair function of computer failed to fix the memory problem.

My hard drive was damaged, I could not recovery, I could not do anything.

Before this happened, I was trying to find Hewlett Packard computers, and was having big problems. The man on the phone said they do not repair computers out of warranty, and I needed to find a local person. This just about removes any reason to buy a Hewlett Packard computer if this is true, I do not know, it is also possible he just wanted to do the work on the side.

Nonetheless, I have all the computer backed up, except for my photos of Guatemala and Peru, any they are not special. I have all my work files backed up on two gig USB memory chip, the critical data is safe. The old photos and all the other data is on two 250 Gig Hard drivers, I have two copies of this data, so all is good. The big problem is the inconvenience.

I think I am gojng to try to sell this computer here and return to the USA to buy another computer.

Frank, found some Travel Channel people in Peru, or doing something…

“I am watching these guys on the travel channel now that are traveling to Koran Korata in Peru, to live with the Machigenga tribe - which I guess is a remote tribe that hasn't had much contact with the "outside world". I know you were doing this so I thought it might interest you. Here is a link that shows all the episodes.

I get angry reading some of these site, too much suspense and lack of transparency. I have spent the last hour trying to find a map of the location. I finally found the a Wiki Page on the Machenguenga Tribe they are going to visit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machiguenga

MAP TO THE NO CONTACT TRIBE OF ANDY'S RESEARCH

I added the names of the tribes... how does a tribe that is no contact by will, have a name?

Here are the names of the no contact tribes in the area I went to, however they are voluntarily no contact tribes. I will return next year to find and interview more people who have left these tribes.

Murunahua Tribe
Chitonahua Tribe
Mashcopiro Tribe

Spelling could and should be wrong, words change, who knows, however this is the best I have.

Are they in Wikipedia.org?

I still have not found a Map to Koran Korata and have my strength to continually search for suspense.

No Contact Tribe Expedition 2010 - Current Events Travel

I like to chase down groups like this, if I could find the exact location, the real time, the specifics it does not seem difficult to just go visit them... heheheh

How would you go fishing if you needed food? The developed world thinks of fishing as a sport, while in reality 80 percent of the planet goes fishing for food.

Today I left the Hotel at 9:30 am, planning to leave on the StarPeru.com airplane to Lima, Peru. I arrive at the airport, walked up to check in, the women tells me the plane will not leave until 2:00 pm.

When I purchased the ticket the day before, I asked the women in Spanish at the Star Peru Airlines at least four times when the plane would depart of Lima. Four times she told me 12, I even help up my fingers, to guarantee there was no problem.

She must have put a qualifier on the end, something saying you need to be at the airport.

Some countries tell you the time the plane leaves.

Some countries tell you the time to be at the airport.

The spoken word is not as good as reading a person needs to read the ticket; you need to force the agent to point at the ticket for departure times and check it.

I will never run out of travel tips, there is always another travel experience.
