Breakfast is Cheap Travel Tip

Breakfast is cheap, Dinner is expensive.

What is your Travel Budget? A vacation is a time to splurge, spend money and enjoy life, however if you are on a strict budgets here is a Travel Tip.

I lived on less than 5-10 dollars for years, because of this budget and sacrifice I now earn enough money to travel the world perpetually as a homeless Hobo.

Ask yourself,
“Which meals of the day cost more?”

Breakfast?
Lunch?
Dinner?

Breakfast is cheap, Dinner is expensive.

Do you want to save money, don't eat in restaurants every meal, and if you do, eat Breakfast, it is the cheaper meal.

During the day, I go to the markets and shop, just yesterday here in Lima, Peru I entered this huge super market and purchased some Bananas, Apples, Bread, Butter and Cheese. Later in the day, I cooked a Cheese Sandwich for Dinner. I spend every day purchasing food for my dinner, and in the morning, I go to Breakfast.

If go to Dinner, it is normally because I am with other people and want to socialize, however when I am alone, I eat in the Hotel.

I am in a Hotel presently that has a guest kitchen, this make cooking at home easy. PrettyHousePeru.com, a truly great family ran Hotel in the Jesus Maria area of Lima for 50 Soles per night.

Note, it is also healthier to eat a small dinner.

Global Warming Needed in Indiana USA
My parents live in north of Fort Wayne, Indiana in a small town with about 400 people. The have consistently wrote me for the last month telling how cold it is in Indiana.

I do not believe in Global Warming, but there is no harm in stopping pollution, that just makes sense.

One child will pedal the bike; another will stand on these two metal extensions coming off the axel of the bike. I am happy to see this, they used to stand on just the small protruding bolt and this seems safer to me.

Some bikes have these little bars on both the front and the read bike tire. What do you think, it this safe?

Ignore Price of Hotel Signs Travel Tip

Ignore Price of Hotel Signs Travel Tip
In Mexico, Central America, and South America I advise you to generally ignore any posted prices for Hotel Rooms.

I had an owner of a Hotel in Antigua, Guatemala point at a sign like this and say,
“This is how much we charge for rooms.”

I start to laugh and said,
“That is not how much people pay.”

Although a good idea, and I do appreciate the Tourist Information systems of countries trying to control prices, I always remember, this is the “Mundo Latino.”

In the Latino World, everything is negotiable, and you must learn to negotiate. They often will say,
“the prices are not negotiable.”

Hehehe, and many people believe that also…

If you are renting a room for more than one night, almost anywhere on the planet, I would advise you to ask for a discount. You got everything to gain, and nothing to lose, I often feel people enjoy paying too much. The locals respect people who fight for a good bargain.

I seldom get Hotel reservations, I do not enjoy the idea of reserving a bad room and paying too much. If I do get a reservation, it is generally only for one night.

New Hobo Budget for Andy

New Hobo Budget for Andy
I have decided the only prudent thing to do is to stockpile money, keep that 600 U.S. Dollars the government says they are giving me in the bank, maybe under the bed.

These airlines seem to predicting some hard times ahead for the world.

I can feel the crunch on the planet, money is drying up, there is too much money being exported to the Middle East, I can here a big sucking noise. I will calculate my options; I will go back down to my pre-Adsense day of 10 dollars per day budget and build up a stockpile of dollars.

Spiritair.com Only One Bag Sir

Spiritair.com Only One Bag Sir
Not quite that polite, however there was a debate whether I would be allowed to check two bags.

What does a person do with an extra bag in the Airport?

I was baffled, this was a first time for this, RyanAir.com my least favorite Airlines on the planet tagged me in London Stansted for 100 extra dollars, I paid 4 dollars for the ticket and miscellaneous cost 150 U.S., no deal to be had. Nonetheless I could pay my way through, this man at Spiritair.com was saying only one bag, amazingly he allow the two.

However, this is the first time I heard this one bag rule, where did this come from, I just flew from Guatemala to Lima on Spiritair.com without a problem and he same two dinky 30 liter bags by Kelty.

The man finally realized this was “Tonto” and passed the bags on through for the normal 40 U.S. for two bags. No Peru Soles the money of the country accepted, only U.S. Dollars.

I can feel eminent doom for many airlines; there may be half the number of airlines one year from now. As I understand, the airline I used to go to Cusco stopped service, amazing, I was in Areocondor and it must have stopped service the next day or so.

I am not fond of the idea of buying tickets in advance; I will stay with my seven days before I leave policy and even less if possible. I fear the whole world economy is dropping, not that the world has not been foolish for years. I am getting on the plane in an hour, I hope the do not file bankruptcy before I leave.

Will People Miss Their Planes

Will People Miss Their Planes?
I just returned from the Internet Café where I printed out my E-Ticket information.

I was walking back, thinking to myself, these E-tickets can be problem, I NEED to, and I MUST print them out.

There are many airports on the planet where only people with Tickets can enter certain areas, sometimes just the long line to check in, and other times you cannot enter the airport terminal.

They check your ticket.

“Woops, I do not have a ticket, it is on my computer, I did not print it, I am sorry, please let me enter.”

I can imagine trying to tell some stone-faced China Guard this; he already does not understand my English.

I know for sure the Philippines Airport in Manila almost has a line to enter the Terminal, what if I did not have a paper ticket.

The airplane people need to set some world standards, I know that many airlines require the printed copy of my E-ticket, which is not an E-ticket when I print it, it is a paper ticket, or something that gives them assurance I purchased a ticket.

I am not so worried about check in; I will not get past that Chinese Security Guard easy; they do give the blank face in a special way and manner.

I am lucky, I am a prepared person, I arrive at the airports the three or two hours as they tell me, I do not risk missing flights. I will and would have the time to raise a ruckus until the solved the problem. However, for many people who will not raise a ruckus, or just are terminally irresponsibly late, what will they do?

I do not carry a printer in my backpack, I am glad Peru has Internet Cafes, in the USA I would be S#$T out of luck, I guess I need to remember to not buy plane tickets in the USA. Which, I gave up a long time ago because Jeroen in Thailand can sell me cheaper, too strange for words.

This is told to me in small ways… There if free breakfast included in the price of the room, so I was happy, however she was ready to serve me Papaya Juice, I do not like Papaya Juice, therefore,
“She made Pineapple Juice.”

I ate a cheese sandwich for a couple of days, then she asked many questions on what I liked, she realized I would like an Egg Sandwich, and she asked,
"one or two eggs?"

I am so used to be ignored by the staff of hotels; it is wonderful experiences to have someone care if I exist.

I am paying 40 Soles per day, I for sure would say this is 4-5 star treatment, the room is perfect, quiet, WIFI Wireless Internet access. Plus I am in a regular neighborhood in Jesus Maria, what a nice place. For sure, this is not a party Hostel or Hotel, it is a family Hotel, but I have a kitchen to use for cooking, life is easy, I am able to live.

This may sound funny, however most hotels make buying easy and living difficult, they try to sell everything, and give my living nothing. This is the true luxury of living in a Hostel, it is I get to live. I have this great kitchen, the place is extreme, and I mean extremely clean, I am not sure I am in Peru, maybe I am in Switzerland.

People do not appreciate the concept of living, there is the idea that we need to have a restaurant, travel agency in a hotel, with a swimming pool and other non-normal living attractions. However, think about it, a really excellent hotel can give you a suite, with maybe a full apartment setup, this is why I like the hotel that have kitchens and living rooms, this is a shared house, this is a hostel, a shared house with a lot of friends, it is like living in the suite at the top of a Five Star Hotel with friends included.

This is nice, a middle class family in Lima, Peru, charging about 15 dollars for a room, it is unusual to get my moneys worth. No buyers remorse here in Lima, Peru at this Hotel or Hostel, this is 100 percent worth the enjoyment and relaxation of living in hotel, not just staying in a hotel.

I would send my Mother and Father to this place in a heartbeat, there are no exceptions here, this place is great. 25 Sole trip in Taxi from the Airport.
