LEAVING IRAQ

I am leaving Iraq tommorrow. I still have hundreds of photos to publish.

But I will personally be in Turkey where the internet is worst.

I am happy to leave this culture and actually will be glad to leave the Turkey culture

also. I think sometimes 2 months of any culture including my own is too much.

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

Hello,

I believe that Peter, Chris and me are unique in Iraq.

We have all three traveled from the Turkey to the Ports of Basra without

carrying a gun or running around like idiots in Caravans.

ARRIVED SAFE IN BAGHDAD FROM BASRA

Hello,

After spending the night in the sauna a.k.a. Hotel Room.

I left at 7:00 from the Basra Hotel and arrived at the Hotel in Baghdad about 1:30.

I took a collectivo taxi with Air Conditioning. Cost 8 Dollars.

I would say the buses are the safest.

MULTIPLE PROBLEMS

It is amazing sometime how many things can go wrong.

But I suppose it is also amazing how many things go right.

I am going home to bed.

Lots and lots and lots of photos in the newsletters.

I hope to finish the captions soon. But had to send while there is a

gap in the problems.

THE TRAIN TO BASRA FROM BAGHDAD

A long 12-14 hour train trip to Basra, Iraq.

It looked as though a train went off the track and our trip was extended

by a few hours. We arrived in a city with very few lights.

Found a hotel. Ate some pita like bread with kebob like beef inside.

There was 3 of a us in a room. I spent lot of time telling Peter that

his shoes stinks and he needed to get them out of the room.

All is good. Finally tracked down an internet cafe. A cheaper room.

Etc. Lots of activity. Went to Port and touched the water.

I am going to write a lot more offline and send
