People Dream of Traveling the Planet

People Dream of Traveling the Planet
There is a feeling that invades my body; it is a daily continuous surge of nerves. I made idle, easy for me comments about Guatemala, West Africa, Thailand or my trip to Iraq, and then I can feel the reader saying to me… very loud, and in my brain.

- Yea, Ok, sure... good for you, but how can I travel; I do not have the money. -

I have found for sure one possible way for you to travel, and work your way around the world if you can upload photos, and write the captions.

A Hobo traveled from place to place cheaply to find work, it was a need, not a want, there was no work, so they left home in search of work. For many I assume it was an excuse to escape the responsibility of family, home and life in general.

For the responsible person, the honest person, the idea of being a bum is repulsive, for me it is repulsive, I am not a bum, I am a person that believes in hard work, and the reward of money or something in return.

I know people dream of Traveling the planet, and I am extremely excited and enthused that we have finally found a way to share this dream with others. Maybe two months ago I think I wrote Wade about how to trade a webpage for a Hotel Room. 80 percent of my budget is the Hotel Room, eating can be very cheap if you cook food, eat at the market and you do not need to fly to places, slow land travel works fine if you are really wanting to meet the people of the planet.

For the first couple of years of my travel, I made small hotel web sites in exchange for a hotel room. There was a problem here, I would put on Geocities.com and if no action they would delete, the owner was not capable of updating simply. What I was done was too complicated for the average person, and the owners were never capable.

The pages were good, but the value of the page had a period, maybe three years and the pages lost relevancy.

What happened the other day, Wade of OpenRoadSong.com blog unexpectedly traded with a Hotel the uploading of 50 photos to for a free room. He only asked for two days, but he got the two days he requested.

I think this is the first time he tried. Now Wade is not a natural born sell-snow-to-Eskimos type of person, he is rather shy, talks quiet, is honest, however is not a normal type person. Tattoos on his body, beard, he is his own man, he is who he wants to be. He like himself, this is what people strive for in life. I will admit, he did something with his ears that I personally think needs plastic surgery.

Wade is a good person, and has a great story I keep encouraging him to write about, he more or less funds a lot of his travels by School Grants, Working on School stuff and doing some remote school study. He needs space until his writing skills funds his travels.

He made a page for a Hotel, traded the work for a free room. Most hotels have a few extra rooms; this cost them close to nothing and truly helps the Hotel. Moreover, it is easy to transfer to the owner, and the owner can make money. In addition, the pages are SEO close to perfect, they truly are designed to help the owner, and we will make about 80 cents per year, maybe more someday, but for the most part 80 cents per year.

The problem for a Guatemala Hotel, an Asian, and an African and American hotel is this. They do not take digital pictures; they do not want to learn about the internet, they just want to rent rooms. Therefore, they want to hire a person to make a webpage and make money, sadly most Web People do not make money or have a clue. I have a great clue, I know how to do this, and I make more money than I need to travel from the Internet.

We make the page for the owner that puts the owner in a good box that forces the page to be relevant and indexed by search engines.

If you are looking for a way to fund your travels, look at the page Wade uploaded and created. Ask yourself,
- How much is this worth? -

How many free days in a hotel would an owner give you for taking 50 photos, soon you can upload videos, just make a great advertisement for the hotel?

http://www.hobohideout.com/guatemala/santiago-atitlan/hotel-san-pablo

Note, I do not believe a person should recommend hotels, I do not think you should take over responsibility for maintenance. I think you can give the hotel a great start, and then transfer to the owner. We almost will require the permission to change to the owner.

It cost a person about 6000 to 8000 US per year to travel, this methodology can reduce the out of pocket or savings by 80 percent to about 1200 to 1600 U.S. Dollars. Now do not just get anal here, there is so many personal needs and variables for a person, there are people who need 20,000 to live because the drink and buy women, but for the average willing to sacrifice and learn to travel person this is a path to living on the road.

The greatest part is you do not have to worry about the page being deleted by GeoCities.com or VirtualAve.com or because you did not pay for your domain and hosting. We are a business, we are viable, we make money, our income exceeds the overhead, we can continuously plow 70 percent or more of the income back into the pages, it is monetized correctly.

Think about it, I know someone out there wants to find a way to travel the world, a life less normal.

I will develop complete checklist, a whole book on how to do this, I know it works. I did if for two years, and this is ten times better and easier than what I did, it is a solution to the question.

How do I have money to travel the world?

Upgraded Hotel Panajachel Lago Atitlan

Upgraded Hotel Panajachel Lago Atitlan
I moved from my 20 US Dollars per night hotel into a 10 Dollars hotel and upgraded my quality of life. I am closer to the market, my WIFI is now three bars and not one, and I have a Kitchen to use with a Fridge, and the nice Mayan dressed girls walking around working.

An upgrade has almost nothing to do with money, has everything to do with making wise choices. However, pricing structure has nothing to do with the package of services, most hotels do not know what they have that is worthy of notice.

The Hotel I am in now puts zero value on the guest Kitchen; they do not know that not being on the water here is a benefit. The most expensive hotels here in Panajachel have the most obnoxious neighborhoods. The immediate areas around them are have anything from cute little Mayan girls selling knitted bracelets to the Cocarina, Mota, you want Mushroom drug bunch and cost a fortune of nutty money. I am in a great neighborhood.

The Market of Pana is great, super clean, cheap, and not many tourists.

What is great is this Hotel now has Skype.com quality Internet and I can make telephone calls and have better internet life.

No internet is good.
Great internet is good.
Funky internet is a constant worry about this problem that you are waiting to happen.

Upgrade for me, it not an upgrade for you, I know what I want, I have experience, pretty pictures, and flowers are just frosting, I want the whole package.

Mirador Basin Cradle of Mayan Culture

Mirador Basin Cradle of Mayan Culture
Water, there was a time way BC, before Christ, when living was simple, we as humans lived close to water. The more I travel, I know Water is the sticky glue that weaves history together. If I follow the rivers and lakes, I will find the history of people.

Hard to say, I think personally think the Mayan culture to number one on my list of Ancient Cultures, topping the Egyptian Pyramids. Of the two culture the Mayan culture, a sort of slave, feudal societies, where a King is a God dominates.

Remove the tourism, what is real?

Here is a map of what I feel may be the birthplace of the Mayan culture.

http://www.authenticmaya.com/images/mirador%20map.jpg

Then if you go to read on this page, it has all the clues you need, the water that glues the Mayan History together.

http://www.authenticmaya.com/mirador_basin.htm

To take a comparative view of world class Archeology sites, following the clues using the glue called water is a good start, I say, go and follow the clues, it is good fun.

Machu Picchu is ho hum
Angkor Wat is petty

Brugge Belgium need to be thought about...

The Egyptian Pyramids is a player, but small in comparision to the Mayan.

Culture, Water, Language groups, Religions, this is the big picture, it is how the world works.

Checking Wireless WIFI Internet in Hotel

Checking Wireless WIFI Internet in Hotel
When I enter a hotel and they offer Wireless or WIFI Internet, I have narrowed it down to about three main things to check.

---------------------------------

Andy of HoboTraveler.com ---
----------------------------------

Wireless WIFI Internet most of the time sucks, one of the worst ways on the planet to access the internet unless the router is in the same room as you are…

However, when I enter a Hotel, I first figure out where the routers are located, and then try to find a room closes as possible to the router. I then turn on my computer, sit it where I would work on the internet in the hotel room and test, looking at the signal strength computer. I do not pay until I know it works, never... it just is not dependable.

This is SOP … nothing new here.

However, second phase is not this; I ask the manager or owner where his or her computer is located.

What I need is this; I need an owner, manager, or children of the owner with a stake in keeping the internet connection working. If they are using it, they will keep it working; I need to tap into the basic selfish nature of people.

The third check is…

Can I get to the router to unplug? When the internet is not working, the normal fix is to just unplug the electricity and replug, this reset some number in the router. If there is more than one or a sequence, I start upstream and work my way down.

WIFI works in my room.
Owner wants to use for his or her selfish reasons.
I can unplug to reset WIFI router.

After you live in hotel for a day or two, you will find that many hotels turn off the internet at night, it is amazingly stupid thing to do, but they do…

I am not in the first hotel where the only way it works it to set the DNS numbers, this is a first. There is nothing easy about using the internet, and a Five Star Hotel better have a 24-hour technical person on staff or I would say they have zero star service. I play at work; just think of the young lions that really need a connection. This is the 1 in 200 who is really a work horse business traveler and not a guy or girl who is having fun at the expense of the business spinning wheels and spending the travel budget.

Truthfully, I think a Skype.com conference call could and should replace 90 percent of all so-called needed business trips.

Depulper or Despupador is not in WikiPedia.org

Depulper or Despupador is not in WikiPedia.org
A berry looking thing grows on small bushes, sometimes closer to tree. The seed inside is a coffee bean, the fruity cover if called the pulp.

There is a machine below that is not in the Wikipedia.org
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffea

Wikipedia.org is taking the body of shared knowledge to the speed of light, the synergy of the computer, internet and the mind of man deserves a Nobel Prize. It is amazing how many articles are not in Wiki, this is the first time I have not found something simple like this machine.

That statement is a compliment to Wiki, and I do thank Wiki.
Chicken Bus is in ... the Wiki.

This link shows better the process of depulping or in Spanish as Despupador than these photos.
http://www.equalexchange.com/coffee-depulping

The red berry part needs removed to expose the Coffee Bean.

This machines appears to scrape the red fruit part off the seed.

A written explanation on the wood Despupador.

Depulper or Despupador, they must put the Coffee Beans in this hopper.

I believe the pulp must come out the bottom.

Hopefully one day I can get a close up view of this process in action. Whether Coffee, Sugar, Cocoa, and many other foods that are processed into the final product, these industries to not make it easy to understand and view. The Wine industry does a good job of explaining the steps, I am waiting for the world of sugar.

I Have Decided Hobo is Retired

I Have Decided Hobo is Retired
Do not panic, nothing is changing; I am not retiring from anything. I now must accept, I am a retired person.

Just recently, I heard an America named Richard say,
- I have to go work. -

----------------------------------

I do not say these words, I cannot remember the last time I stopped anybody in their tracks, left them saying to the person.
- I am sorry, I must go, I have to go work. -

This is not part of my life.

I do projects, play around, I work on the site, I blog, I write, I start a new project, I just do about anything that comes to mind. The word need is used sparingly, and almost never with the aspect to my time involved, I have time for about anything I wish to do. I do not need money, I do not need more money, I like extra cash to travel as Freedom Insurance, I do not want be put in a box because of small budget, the more money the merrier, but the I do not need to go work in a box.

I have decided I am more retired than almost anybody I know that works; I am for sure more retired than most retired people are. I am a Hobo Duck…

I quack like a retired person.
My day is like a retired person.
I have set incomes like a retired person.
I sound more retired than a retired person does.
I am a retired Hobo.
I am Andy, I am Retired.

I really like to apply the correct labels or tags to myself, I feel somewhat stupid when people ask me,
- Are you retired? -

For the last few months or year, I have been saying,
- I am not sure. -

I met some retired people who worked much more than me, and I was having this congruency problem, dissonance personified.

I Have Decided Hobo is Retired

Entrepreneurs are Frustrated Travelers

Entrepreneurs are Frustrated Travelers
I was reading this blog post by Fred, a man who is definitely needs to escape the USA mentality of,
- Human Doing -
Defined a person who must be doing something or they are not ok.

He blog about what is an Entrepreneur, I thought to myself, I should copy and paste into a Microsoft Word, type CTRL H and replace the word Entrepreneur with Traveler.

Probably Copyright problems, so instead, go and read the information on his blog link from Fred and every time you read the word Entrepreneur insert the word Traveler. I will forgive and accept the Canadians if they think Traveller, really and identity problem of no consequence.
