Travel Blogs Drive Me Crazy

Travel Journals Drive Me Crazy Travel Journals

A confusing and complicated plan has evolved into my brain, I have finally admitted to myself that the my Blog fails to be or cannot only be my personal online diary. It has to be more if I am going to fund my Travels with only the Blog, each day has to appeal to a variety type of readers.

Blogger systems are driving me crazy, blogger.com is nuts, Wordpress is too clever, they all have problems in a pro-blogger sense, in the end, just another Blog system.

Travel Journal --- Request a Travel Tips
----------------------------------

Nothing is changing much, however the presentation is going to go smooth, so the readers cannot shoot the messenger. More of a well rounded Blog and less rambling and rants.

Photos for the visual people

40-50 Previous Post and archives that work...

Travel Tips for the people preparing to travel

Gear tips for the gear junkies

Airline help for the Business Traveler

Pretty CSS Templates for the majority of people, I have for years refused to tie the Blog up in pretty wrapping and put on a bow because I wanted readers who focus on words, not on pretty pictures. However, to go more mainstream, give the world press something to talk about, they need fed some pretty pictures.

It is like cereal, the cereal can be the healthiest, most nutritious cereal ever sold, however with a great package for the children, nobody is going to purchase it.

In a way, I feel it is my responsibility to find a methodology that could be copied and allow any Hobo out there to live by Blogging because Hoboes travel to work.

Black and White Tortillas

I have been quizzing the local Mayan Tortilla girl that last couple of weeks, finally on the other day somebody answered me. Finding answers to simple questions can take weeks, I tend to believe many of the Mayan Tortilla making girls do not speak Spanish.

This is a black Tortilla; I took this photo in Solola, at the market on Tuesday.

A mixed pile of Tortilla, this is another baffling question, why do they mix them all together, I would think they would put the Whites in the back of the bus.

This is the black and white dough, I finally got an answer on why they are making black and white Tortillas, the black ones are made from Black Kernel corn and the white is made from the Yellow corn.

The make them with separate dough, however as you can see they piled them all together. You can buy four to five Tortillas for one Quetzal, about 15 cents US.

Best Travel Journals in English of 2008
I am Andy of HoboTraveler.com Travel Journals, I am homeless, I am a perpetual traveler for over 10 years and 79 countries. There are two perspectives, one is from the position of the armchair traveler, and the other is from my perspective the professional traveler.

What is the best Travel Journal of 2008, the truth is I have no idea, I have no favorites, I have not read enough Blogs to make that decision. I do not even like to read my own, I like to travel.

I have made a decision to learn what other travelers are doing this coming year; I am going to make my own list of Best Blogs of 2009. I want to keep the light on in my traveler’s world, I want to smell the roses, and I want to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This year I am going to find out what wonders of the planet the other travelers have found, I am going to listen more and talk less.

There are many type of Travel Journals, however there are two major factions, those people who are traveling and those people who talk about travel.

Until next year, here are a few other sites that list the best or top Travel Journals on the planet, there is no agreement between them. All the sites have some good points, many are just copying from others, and all in all these links are good set of links to find some interesting peoples Travel Journal.

NOTE - These Travel Journal have little do with the best on the planet, and a lot to do with the English Language, however a great way to waste a few hours reading some stories and rants.

If I have learned one lesson from travel, English is not the only language on the planet, so take all this best and top Travel Journal stuff with a grain of salt, try to see the world globally.

The Bucket List Travel Tip

The Bucket List Travel Tip
The Bucket List - Planning Travel Tip

Make a list of all the things you want to do before you kick the bucket. When someone says, get a life, this is what they mean…

We negotiate our life while living on a small precipice; we look over the edge seeing all that is possible. However, still as timid souls we ask too little of ourselves, we believe in tomorrow more than today.

I stole this tip, I am copying this tip, and I am buying into this tip from a movie called, “The Bucket List.”

Two men who have terminal cancer make their dream list of what they want to do before the kick the bucket. The difference between these two men and the rest of the world is they decide to be the heroes of their life.

Make a list of all the things you want to do before you kick the bucket, then start to today to find the hero of the story.

Please go watch the movie “The Bucket List,” and make all the tomorrows become today, then one day at a time you can become the hero of the story.

Once you have “The Bucket List,” you will learn there are people who love you and will help you achieve your dreams, and there will be many who say this is just a movie… it is not a movie, it is the story of your life, do not lose the negotiations, your life is at stake.

I am always baffled to understand tourist, after 10 years of travel, there is no rhyme or reason to why tourist visit places.

My only instinct says, it is all about the shopping, all the rest is almost irrelevant. Pana has some trinket shopping, some Mayans walking around selling typical clothes of Guatemala. It just does not have enough glitz for the majority of tourist. Very few of the consumer tourists enjoy this place, truly not a good place for the people who only enjoy life when consuming. I think it bores the average tourist to death here in Panajachel, truly drives them away.

What a great place for me.

Every notice how many people go to the beach and do not lie in the sun? They obviously are not there for the sun.

Writing at Night Does Not Work

Writing at Night Does Not Work
Travel Journal Travel Tip - How to write a travel Blog.

A Hobo is a person that travels to work.
A tramp is a person that travels and won't work.
A bum is a person that will neither travel or work.

One of the best ways for modern day Hoboes to “travel to work” is by earning advertising money by doing a Travel Journal. You all can take all them fantasies about traveling the planet and put them in the trash bin if you do not come to grips with this fact. To travel the world you need to work, unless you are a tramp or bum.

I am not a bum, I am not a tramp, I am a Hobo, and I travel to work. I travel around the planet searching for my work.

Travel Journal --- Request a Travel Tips

Ok now after that focus session, if you are going to pay you way around the planet by having a Travel Journal, here is the lesson the I have learned the hard way about a Travel Journal.

First, you need to Blog every day; you need to give your readers their daily dose of travel.

This stops about 95 percent of all Travel Journalgers in their tracks.

Second or morever the reason I am able to Blog daily, it is because I do my writing in the early morning before the world gets too busy. The travel path has many obstacles; there are big stones in the path. I must write in the morning before anybody or anything places a huge obstacle in my path. I take off on trips during the day to other cities, everything goes wrong and I arrive at midnight. Ooops, there is a day without a Blog, then another day, and another day, if you work in the morning you can control the time, while working in the afternoon or night is when the world inserts all the obstacles in my path.

There are Gremlins that live under the bridge who job is to stop the travelers.

If you are willing to work and not be a bum, you can make money with a Travel Journal, not much, but enough for surely to travel the planet living in a minus one star Hotel.

Are you a delusional traveler? Are you writing a vacation Blog? Are you making a webpage for your friends? I truly do not care, however for those of you who wish be a Hobo Traveler, then please remember, Hoboes work to travel, I recommend you get off your butt and work for a living, wake up in the morning and write.

A reader wrote me a personal email and referenced Africa as the Holy Grail, a truly interesting proposition. The person is going Africa soon and below is an excerpt from his email, corrected to make easier to read.

“Andy,

you know Africa is the Holy Grail for us Travellers.”

I remember when you were in West Africa, how tight the money is for us folks on a budget. Hoping that I will be able to afford to hang (Africa) long enough to get a real taste

Hoping 09 treats you as it should, and hoping I get to bump into you on the road

Dinner is on me

I have been to Africa three to four times according to how you look at Africa, Morocco and Egypt are more Arabic or part of the Middle East Culture, so I do not include them in my thoughts about Africa.

However, this is the question, is Africa the Holy Grail of Travelers?
