Andy Graham - A Life Without Borders

Andy Graham is a person who lives in many location all over the world, this page explains his lifestyle.

What country are you from?
USA, and the State of Indiana

What is your age?
55

How many countries have you visited?
90

What is your greatest joy of living anywhere?
If I want to experience something, I just move there, I do not have many of wish-I-had-done-that things in my life, if I dream of it, I go do it.

Why do you live in many cities in many countries?
I think is boredom, at first I just needed a vacation from the 9 to 5 world of the USA business world. However, the longer I was outside the USA the more I rejected some normal habits of people from developed countries. I am comfortable in the USA, the country is safe, clean, has zoning laws, and I can talk to a police person without paying a bribe.

However, there is nothing more invigorating, nothing keeps me younger, nothing makes me feel more alive and thriving than to live and learn how the people live on planet earth.

Now, i cannot stop, I love my lifestyle, it is an addiction to living a life less normal.

What is your source or sources of money?
For the first year or two I lived off my savings, then for a couple of years I lived very cheap and traded making a web page for a free hotel room. I tried to teach English in Peru, but found this just survival and not thriving.

I started a web site in 2000 called HoboTraveler.com that slowly grew into a thriving business, and now earns me sufficient income to live anywhere.

I am age 55, and if I can make it another 7 years, I believe I will be able to collect Social Security.

How does a person prepare?
I do not think you can prepare much, I suppose it is best to save up 10,000 USD dollars, this can last you from 1-3 years until you adjust. Instead of preparing, I would recommend you go extremely slow, start in very cheap countries, and resist the temptation to be a tourist and move continuously to see things. Try to be better at living than at saying you saw every tourist destination. Trust me, you will never see all the tourists attractions, but you can always live a great life.

Recommendations: Get rid of every loan, every debt, and every contract, free yourself from the addiction of spending money, learn to read book.

What mistakes have you made, that you would recommend people avoid?
The first year of my travels I spent enough money to live for five years. I thought 20 Dollars was cheap for a hotel room on the planet, and five dollars for lunch was reasonable.

I now know that it is easy to rent rooms for 150 per month, and eat for one dollar per meal, when I pay more, I am being a rich American.

One Travel Tip?
Make your primary goal in any location to find friends who smile, these people will help you adjust, live and prosper in ways that are not explainable.
