Hello, I am Andy of HoboTraveler.com
Synopsis:

No tips on travel destinations allowed.
I need Travel Tips written by international travelers or Hoboes that understand the world. I am not good at grammar and it is not natural for me to write, so do not worry, I want people that have truly traveled the planet.
I am offering 150 U.S. Dollars for an original tip. The letter is presently distributed to about
10,500 persons bi-weekly or when I can write the letter.
The tips must authentic and interesting travel tip
articles written that will be published in my travel tips newsletters.
My articles are not public relations feel good tips,
but real life travel situations with solutions. To learn the style
and types of tips I wish to receive please simulate my formats in
my
NEWSLETTERS
Letters need to be written in HTML and simulate present WIDTH.
NORMAL REASONS I WOULD NOT PUBLISH OR USE?
The number ONE reason!
The person did not read and follow the the guidelines on this page!
PLEASE READ!
I believe that listening and reading needs to be learned, it is
an art.
-
ADVERTISEMENT FOR YOUR BUSINESS disguised as tip.
I want business to tell me about their business, and welcome tips about unique types, but may not hide as bait and switch.
- ARTICLE NOT A TIP. An article on a location could work sometimes and
especially if I am entering or going to this location presently. However
I am
mostly looking for tips.
- USA centric or only possible for an United States Citizen to achieve.
The tips here are for the world and not only the English world.
- NOT comprehensive, short and brief and not an all inclusive well
researched tip.
- RICH PEOPLE ONLY TIP - I write off the shelf tips, how to live
on an extreme budget, and not how to pay your way through. I want even a wealthy person to learn how to get the best value for their money.
- COPIED AND PASTED FROM ASIAN OR FOREIGN NOTEPAD.
The characters must be USA, British, or done in HTML so they can be copied and pasted in English characters with no strange little Asian, Spanish, Russian, or other strange little letters, thanks.
- FORMAL, NOT PERSONAL
Say the tip like you are talking to your friend, do not be so formal, let us have some fun.
- Make links work or only in this manner
http://www.hobotraveler.com
This is NOT ok! www.hobotraveler.com
- No prices given, to me, advice without the price is not advice.
FACTORS IN A GOOD TIP?
A tip has a NEED factor--- How much is the tip needed?
Then it has a EXPLAINED FACTOR - Is it explained thoroughly
and in detail. Is there plenty of examples and links.
RESEARCH factor. A great tip is simple and easy to understand,
but after a person completely understands a topic they can explain the
highlighted points easily.
INTERROGATIVES? Are these answered Who When Where Why Why How Much?
State the PROBLEM and the SOLUTION
HOW TO START?
1. Decide on a topic or subject.
2. Write Andy and see if he has already wrote a tip about this subject?
CONTACT
3. Research your tip!
HOW TO RESEARCH?
Note - TRAVEL to South America or Asia... Europe is not the best place to learn how to think internationally.
But you can write tips even if you do not travel.
A. GO TO PAGE THAT HAVE LIST OF TRAVEL TIPS PAGES
http://www.alexa.com/browse/general?catid=9283&mode=general
http://www.dmoz.com/Recreation/Travel/Preparation/Tips
http://www.about.com
http://www.forbes.com/bow/b2c/section.jhtml?id=3
Search Google.com for the subject
you have chosen. Read and read until you feel you know every article
about the subject on the internet.
B. READ ALL THE TIPS, but then think... Am I thinking
internationally? Or am I too American, European, or even Asian?
C. Read and apply the guidelines I outlined above on why a tip would not be used! If you wish to learn my style, the blog is good way to start.
http://www.hobotraveler.com/blogger.html
D. NOTE that the 10 best or 10 worst, or 20 of something or the 50 of something is always easy to understand and simple, but you must have a comprehensive list!
WRITING YOUR TIP - Recommendations or guides
My travel writing problem!
First let me explain my big problem... contrary to what you may
think the problem I have is not with ideas or subject that I wish to
write about, it is about the time it take to convert ideas or topics
into a format which I can use with minimal amounts of work. So
unfortunately I have a need for ready-to-use material. If it
requires formatting, editing, proof-reading etc then I can write the
articles myself, so try to empathize with my time of working in
internet cafes, living on the beach, and in some very exotic
locations, you will understand I cannot fix your work. Plus remember
we are to be Hoboes and we do not live in 5 star hotels.
1. Write the tip quickly and for fun.
2. Go back and proofread and fix the obvious blunders but do not fix the tone, we are Hoboes, not diplomats.
3. Spell Check! Probably best if possible to use Microsoft Word or Microsoft Word or some other spell checker. I believe in Yahoo Mail or Hotmail they now have spell checkers.
4. No ACRONYMS PLEASE. Or use and explain. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) is good. LOL is not ok, as it confuses my mother. LOL (Laugh Out Loud) is fine, now we learn.
Half the people that read my letters do not speak English as their first language, and abbreviations, acronyms, slang, and obscure colloquial phrases can drive me and them crazy. But are also fun so please use and do not use.
5. Send off to Andy for opinions if you wish, so you do not waste days making a perfection and he says, NO WAY JOSE.
6. No curse words, cussing, cursing, expletive deletives, groseros, or crude language. This mean you cannot say SHIT. People have filters on their boxes and this type of language will not go through, I do not so much mind the words, but you must disguise them as S$%^ or somehow.
7. Make all links complete: BAD: HoboTraveler.com or
www.hobotraveler.com
GOOD: On one line, do not put inside the paragraph.
http://www.hobotraveler.com
5. No Cliche.
These type of link will not be CLICKABLE in a newsletter.
Make the link complete http://www.hobotraveler.com
Do not enmesh them inside a sentence like they are just a word like this,
http://www.hobotraveler.com they are not words and the links can hook on to words in a newsletter.
The need their own line: http://www.hobotraveler.com/
This makes reading easier.
MAKING YOUR CREDITS
I need to say who did then, why, when or what not. I need to acknowledge that this is your original work and not mine, so that we all agree that I have obeyed those copyright laws. Plus I do not know what to say about you...
A brief biography and a picture is nice to include also but note necessary. But you need to make your credits box.
EXAMPLE CREDITS
Make as you wish, but have inside the box and not more than 55 characters wide.

on tips sent.

I keep thinking about your desire to write tips, and the one you
submitted.
It is an interesting and well written tip, however very general, and is
even difficult for me
to classify as to what type of tip.
Generally all the tips I write are going to be in one or many of the
categories
on this page of tips I have written.
(Referenced the specific tip, however omitted for anonymity.)
http://www.hobotraveler.com/indenewslettipsbysubject.shtml
The other way of looking at a tip is where does it fit into the 150
Categories of HoboTraveler.com
Where could I put a link to your tips in the 150 Categories?
I am looking with tips or hints to fill up the 150 Categories or to the
index of tips pages.
I am looking for very specific tips for each of these categories.
I am going to create a place on Wikihobo.com
http://www.wikihobo.com
For people to put tips they have written, a great place for you to put a
tip
and other people can read, live links and such.
The site is up and working I believe and I believe you could submit
these tips for publication, however I have not figured out how to do so
yet.
If you wish you can post this on the site, I will link to it for sure.

I have to make your tips into a page that will go into the archives of
newsletter for HoboTraveler, this means that the time it take me to
convert your tip to an HTML page is time I have to work, to publish your
tip. I can write my own tips, therefore the reason to utilize another
person tip is for normally two reason, one to not have to work one week
on the tips part of newsletter or maybe a person had really collect
information way beyond my ability or knowledge. A general tip you wrote
is difficult to use, however sometime I would love to maybe use a tip
directly off the internet. I see or have written writers that have a tip
posted on a page and asked permission to use. If a page is already on
the internet in a HTML page, then I can copy and paste quickly, you may
consider just making a webpage of your tip and then send me the link
this makes it extremely easy for me to want to use your tips because
there is less work. I use tips by other to say time mostly, then I also
hope they can get specific and research enough to give me something
besides some glossy, nice smelling, feel good tip.
Please post your tip on the internet and send me the link to the tip.
Thanks Andy
