Webmaster for Travel about How Long for Google to Index Site?
Google.com is the big search engine for the world as of September 2004.
So you need or should get your site submitted so they world can search and find
your site.
But the big question and hard to answer is how long does it take from the time
you submit you site until there pages will start showing up or become searchable
by google.com?
I have submitted to submitted web sites to search engines and the answer to the
question has evaded me and I have never had an conclusive evidence.
But...
I published about 300 pages on or around August 8th of 2004
and then on September 2nd of 2004 there was a dramatic increase in traffic.
Dramatic increases are not normal for a website, but this was enough that the
daily average of my site appears that it will go from 1800 unique visitors to
about 1900 or 2000 plus. This is a 5-10 percent increase.
The actual visitors on September first was 2500, so I am being conservative but
a 500 person increase over the day before is enough to say to me that
google.com's index has started showing the pages.
Google.com always says about 6 weeks, so this was around 3-4 weeks.
I was very happy.
Submit idea on how a person can track or learn about this. I know there are bots
that will show up in the logs of my statistics, but how do I find them and
please explain.
