Hi,
I served in Somalia in 1992-1993 with the Australian Army. I was posted to Baidoa and Burrakaba. (sorry for spelling).

I was totally amazed when we pulled out of Somalia there was so much left to do.

It has been many years now but a Day never goes by without thinking of Somalia and the people. I have been trying now for 15 or so years to go back as a volunteer (NOT PAID) a Volunteer but no one wants my help? I can speak english a little Somali I can help with minor wounds as I am Combat medic first Aid qualified.Can someone help me please here is my email I am genuine just need someone to help me and yes I know what I will be exposed to. spudly236@yahoo.net.au

With the election of a new president in Somalia it seems as though there is a new hope for that country. I would very much like, God willing, to help the Somali people rebuild there country. hi, i did volunteer for two months at a hospital in Hargeisa,Somaliland.it has been a worthwhile experience as i had the chance to see how people suffering couragiously overcome their problems,some of them had no financial backing but yet had the wisdom to bring their relatives to hospital and give them the best medical attention..i was humbled to work under the leadership and watchful eye of two of Somalia-s most experienced surgeons. I hope god rewards them for their efforts. i am now ready to volunteer again next summer. Somewhere in Africa!
