Hello, my name is Veena. I am 30 years old and work as a software programmer. My love for travel and volunteering activities(aimed at conservation) knows no bounds. I have travelled extensively within India and I document my travels through my blog and through photographs(i am good at photography and good at writing too).

Working towards conservation and documentation in Antarctica is something I dream about. This would also greatly satisfy my wanderlust, while I also contribute towards the general good.

My name is Javier Elkin and I am Italian Argentinean. I am currently attending second year of Psychology at the University at Royal Holloway University of London (exp. 2:1). Having lived in six countries and travelled to many more parts of the world, has enhanced my awareness and respect for individual and global differences. I therefore adapt easily to different people, countries, and climate conditions. I am patient and respectful and fluent in French, Spanish, English, and Italian. I hope one day to work as a neuroscience researcher but in the meantime I plan to achieve my dreams.

My greatest longing is to go to Antartica. The landscape fascinates me and I would do anything to be there. I have experience in translation and as a research assistant, so would love to serve for touristic purposes as well as contributing to scientific research.

Hey

I am a recent BSc Molecular Cell Biology student from the University of York in England where I obtained a high 2.1 classification.

Although a molecular biologist by nature, throughout my entire four year degree I undertook a variety of ecology and marine biology based modules many of which gave me a detailed understanding of antartcic ecosystems, climate and geography.

Since graduating in July I have been travelling the world and am currently travelling around Australia. Since beginning my travels I have worked a variety of unique ecology/biology related jobs including (but not exclusive to):-

* Monitoring of the bioeroding red-sponge (Cliona sp) on the Pinctada maxima Pearl shell
* Sand and soil analysis (CO2, pH, biomass composition, arthropod identification) along coastal waters of the Dampier Peninsula.
* Surgical implantation of seeds into the nacre producing mantle region of the Pearl shell Pinctada maximus. Also included host-donor mantle tissue grafts.
* Removal of biofouling species Barnacles (Balanus amphitrite variegates), Sea-squirts (Ciona intestinalis), Pteria spp.
* Biodynamic/environmentally-frienly pest management of the vineyards in South Australia
* Turtle monitoring and conservation along the Cable Beach region
* I will also be participating in a shark migration and tracking programme on the East Coast as of March 2009 spending a few months at sea and tagging various shark species with satellite GPS trackers.

I also undertook a variety of Geology modules and field excursuions whilst on a years exchange at the University of California at Santa Barbara. This enabled me to explore and experience many remote regions of the Western US coast (Majave desert, Mammoth Mountain, Searls saltpans in Trona, coastal archipelago, Panam meteortite crater). As such I have a variety of geology based techniques (soil boring, soil gas composition, seismology etc) which may also come in handy on a research trip to Antarctica.

Biology, and travelling is my life, and a trip to Antarctica (for however long it may be) is my greatest dream. Whether it be assisting a fellow scientist to conduct their studies, an educational cruise or simply assisting in the delivery of cargo to remote Antarctic communities... Please consider me.

I am from North Dakota orginally. so as you may know very used to a cold climate. often its over 20 and 30 degrees below zero. I am a very physically strong and have many handy skills. I have experience in Carpentry, training animals, horses, dogs, ox and mules. I also have alot of web programming experience and run a small computer company on the side. I also weld, farm (indoors) and have a good basic knowledge of mechanics. i also cater vegetarian food to our local area and believe i can cook quite well. i am a full time sales rep for a meat alternative food company. I am a great organizer and have high hopes in helping people learn to respect the planet. I want to find a group who can help prep me to go to antarctica and do what i can to help. by the way i love the cold and find it to be peaceful. I am 26 yrs. am 220 lbs and always have an open mind. i am happy to do what i am told and i always follow protocol. Please consider me as a volunteer.

Hey,
I am a student from Lithuania - from a little country really far from The South Pole.
One of my biggest dream of my short life is to get to Antarctica!!
Really, I hate winter, but i love a beautiful nature (which I havent seen yet) of this wonderful continent!

Im studying medicine, now im on the third course. And i think, that i could be useful in some positinion of volunteering.
I am flexible, sociable. I like travelling, challenges, new people. I think that I orient fast in unexpected situation.

So, it would be good for me, and for people in Antarctica that I get there.

I am a student of Medical School and I have attended to many congresses related to marine fauna. I would love to volunteer for any program available for a period of time from 3 to 6 month. Any activity would be a good experience in such a beautiful place.

I dont know about your specialties or anything but usually Raytheon has the openings for scientist, and so forth. A good start would be contact the National Science Foundation Since we actually work for them. I am currently at Palmer Station Antarctica and loving life!!!

I think everyone would love the chance to explore such a magnificent and alluring continent, possibly becasue it is quite neutral...although not without controversy across the world!!

I would really love the opportunity to volunteer out there, i am prepared to absolutely anything to get there! I am a Part One Architect, which probably doesnt help a great deal but I have bags of drive and love extreme weather! Please contact me if anyone knows of any opportunities!

I have finished Alberta College of Art,I am 21 years old, majoring in photogrophy and graphic design,
I am not sure that this skill is any usefull, but my classmate went
to Antarctica as a voulanteer and ran the ship paper.

I am a 4th year Zoology student studying at the University of Edinburgh. I graduate this year (June) and I-m looking for an opportunity to travel to Antarctica with the hope of assisting in Zoological field research. I-ve travelled extensively throughout south east Asia, the far east, much of Africa and Europe and very much enjoy meething new people with different experiences and stories to tell.
