Video of Market in Bauang La Union Philippines
10 pesos in a Jeepney and I am at the Bauang, Philippines market here in the province of La Union.

Thursday and Sunday are market days, life is good, I am not sure why, however I seldom hear anymore in the Philippines,
“Hey Joe.”

Market Girls

If you walk up to the second story of the market there is a Canteen where typical food is sold. I took this photo from that advantage point.

If you watch the video, you will see that heavyset man trying to get me to follow him; I am never clear on why, but fun.

Books about the Philippines Page on Amazon

Here is the book “Hey Joe,” about the Philippines, this is too funny, however I purchased an autographed hand drawing of this inside the Yasmin hotel in Manila. One of my favorite hotels in a slimy sort of way, I would stay there all the time if they had WIFI interne, instead I need to stay in the Duck Inn.

I need to remember to interview this man in Angeles City at the same time as Harry the Horse. I need to track him down, this is always time consuming.

  • Hey can you do a undercover video of the "dog meat market" ? that would be cool.

  • I grow many of those vegetables here in Indiana. I have a Filipina wife, but I also cook. Using ampalya, (oblong green bumpy "cucumber like"), aitao (long green beans), talong (eggplant) tomatoes and garlic I can mix up a mean "Pinakbet". Don't forget the Bagoong! (Fish paste).

    Dear Chuck W.,
I think your thinking of Korean people Chuck ? I've been a few times to the Philippines and never heard it mentioned or seen it in the markets and what would be COOL about it if it was available ?

I think you got a screw loose Chuck or your 15 years old.

  • Chuck knows what he it talking about and you do not Sherry,

People from Baguio have confirmed there is Dog Meat being sold and if not in Baguio in the Trinidad another city that is part of this overpopulated city.

The majority of people are not capable of observing a culture without preconceived ideas that self-prophesize what they are capable.

The travelers who come to the Philippines are especially naive.

On this news group from Bagui, even though it is full of mocking, arrogant and people that have never gone farther than Angeles city. They do confirm there is Dog Meat being sold in Baguio.
