Fascinating... I'm engaged to a wonderful peruana who explained to me the same idea, using "flichera" instead. When we were in Chiclayo visiting friends (mi familia chiclayana), several of the guys in the plaza made "flichera" comments at her as we were walking along together. She told me about it later, knowing I might have confronted them. Good observations, Andy. Grace to you in your quest for friends.
