Andy I looking at the same issue. I'm sure you have read the US gov't do not recommand any land travel and only stay in big Hotels. I know you do not believe everything you hear from them. You have much more contacts then me so if you hear of the route I look forward to reading it. Sorry not much help but I've only been traveling 4 years RTW of my last 20 years and mostly in less questionables areas. At 41, I'm now ready to tackel the untraveled areas ,and people like you make these journey's possible. Remember you always have a place to stay with a Cnd.if you come to the Gold Coast of Aust.
