I believe that I heard about this long ago as it is ringing a bell. I believe that this is something like "spirit money". It's burned and floats to the spirit world where it is received by their recently deceased so that they can live a comfortable afterlife.
It was that or it's burned to bring good luck and fortune. I'm not sure why I have to stories stuck in my head for this one.

Very interesting post there Andy. I would imagine that someone that hated people would have to be quite content with them self. I could imagine the internal struggles that one might have and I'm certainly glad that I am free of that.
With that said I don't hate people in general, just certain people.

OK, I made the stove like in the video and everything is great aside that it isn't lighting. I have a feeling that it's my fuel that's the problem. I've got 70% rubbing alcohol but I think there is a stronger one that I should be using. Andy, I'm looking forward to that cooking video. I would also love to see what your pantry looks like. I'll have to do a search on your blog though, I will admit that I haven't read a lot of your entries before I started following your blog.

I always thought the lyrics were "wild woman from Tokyo" I'm even more confused about the lyrics now.

That's a pretty cool burner, I'll put that on the list of things to make. I notice that the video showed using some sort of anti freeze, I thought that was odd, I'd be much more comfortable using rubbing alcohol.
It also looks like the burner was set on an upturned saucepan of some sort, not too handy for a traveler. Have you tried some sort of potholder? They have silicone potholders that are nonslip, protect your table top and are easy to clean.

sporkboy commented about TSA Recognized Baggage Locks, On Friday August 15th, 2008 12:14:00 PM
There are TSA approved locks that have little dot that changes colors if the TSA people unlock them. Personally I think the shanks of those locks are pretty weak. If someone really wants to get into your bags, they'll do it.
Ash is completely right on picking zip ties though. There are reusable zip ties that have a release on them, handy for cable management, not so good for travel.
