I admit I read it once a month for inspiration. I have lived outside of the united states since the day George Bush was inaugurated the second time. It was just a coincidence though. I like your blog alot and am glad you have been able to sustain constant travel.

That plan sounds pretty reasonable. You might think of waiting until you get closer to the area you want to explore though. I imagine there is boat traffic there and you would be able to hitch a ride for less expense than what your proposing. I travelled through the Hourani Territory in Ecuador and many of the villages will let you camp there for a few dollars a day and you can eat rice and peccary like the locals.

We called them Sapote in Ecuador as well. They grow on trees. I fed them to the tourists at a jungle lodge alot. they taste like sweet squash with big seeds.

That is an OLD backpacking trick! Im surprised you were not aware of that already. You should skim through a backpacking book to learn a few tricks you may not be familiar with.

I very much appreciate learning from you.
