When i went to Cusco it was cold in the mornings, then hot at noon and then cold again in the nights.
People there told me any time of the year its pretty much the same, but with the difference that they have a rainy season i think its from October to May and in that period it rains a lot.
I went in July so i dont know how much it rains. Heres more info about the weather

Also keep in mind that its not the same weather in Cusco city than in Machupicchu cause Machupicchu is near the jungle.
