Hello, have you used rsync before?
With option --partial-dir , partially transferred files are processed inside a subdirectory, so you can resume transfer if there are network/electricity problems.
Rsync updates can be scripted, so you can have coffee with girls while rsync is doing the job.
You can do almost anything with rsync, it has lots of options and a long man page, but with option --dry-run you can try what *would* happen if you try some command line.
Unfortunately, with youtube you can't use rsync. It would be great if you could. But can you outsource these video uploads? You just rsync them, some other person uploads to youtube.
Or have a shell account on UNIX box where you rsync the files, but this would be quite complicated.
Or if you don't care if videos are "late", write the high-quality movies to DVD and snail mail the DVD to your friend...
