Great blog about a great guy. Paul is really a nice, genuine, and friendly man. He is retired US Airforce and loves travel and adventure. I wish I had the linguistic ability he has.

Special thanks to Andy for all of his time spent helping me. I do not know a url from a watermelon and Andy still took the time to help me. He is a great guy, a good source of information and totally interesting to talk to.
We just finished having a breakfast cup fo coffee in the Red Lion Pubs cafe and as usual I walked away with a new perspective on things and a different way of thinking.
thanks
Phil

Phil commented about Yahoo Mail Problem 2009, On Thursday October 15th, 2009 09:44:20 AM

Yahoo Mail is not working for me either. It started about 3 weeks ago when
yahoo repeatedly asked me to validate my password, then failed to load
email.

Then it stopped doing this until this week when it now takes me to a general
yahoo marketing page, so I click email and it takes me back to the validation
page. This problem is driving me crazy.

Finally on clicking yahoo mail, I then had to wait 10 seconds, for messages to load
up, So I conlude that Yahoo no longer wants email as its primary reason for existance.

Instead Yahoo wants to direct me to services and pages that are of no interest to me.

Yahoo is no longer an email provider.

Yahoo has now become a general marketing organisation, and its email customers
( yes we are customers paying £1 per month )
have sunk to the bottom of its priority list.

Phil commented about Do Not Read About Countries Travel Tip, On Wednesday October 28th, 2009 12:52:22 PM

I never realized just how true this statement was till I read it. I always read about countries almost to a fault. But strangely enough it never influences what I decide about the country after seeing it and talking to the people. And after all one's opinion is highly subjective anyway. I read about places to see and that sort of thing and usually some of the history of the country.
But as always, it is time sensitive and is only one person's opinion. I love travel and always will. I think I was born with the desire to travel. My ancestors left their countries of origin to improve their lives and my parents moved several times to accomodate change and new desires.
It is a wonderful world we live in and I will always be a traveler or at the very least a traveler at heart.

Good blog Andy. Sad to say, you are right. Good travel writers who travel are a rare commidity. Having been a lifelong globe trotter I agree that you have to be boots on the ground to really understand a country or a city. Keep up the good work Andy. My daughter sent you an email I think, about going to Saudi.

ps: thanks for all your help
