I hiked up to Pic d'Agou in 1983. It was spectacular. The highest village on Pic d'Agou (can't recall the name) was said to be a place of refuge in times of war. After I paid my respects to the chief, he (through an interpreter who spoke French) asked me what he could do for me. I told him that, after such a hike, all I wanted was a bath. He said a few words in the local lingo and a young gentleman let me off to a hut hanging from the side of a cliff. Behind the hut was the edge of the cliff and a small area paved in stone. A reed screen provided some privacy. He told me to strip and wait there. I did. After a while, a lovely pubescent girl appeared with two big tin basins of water, hot and cold. She bathed me with a loofa and black soap made with ash. In the plain below I cold see clouds roll in and unleash rain and lightening.

Ha...Are you really so arrogant that you equate long term with being a professional? Just because you do something for a long time doesn't make you a professional. In your case it just makes you a long time traveler. Or maybe wanderer is a better word for what you do...I definitely wouldn't label it professional. And remember long time is a perspective. 10 years ..is that a long time? maybe not.

You should be helping out in Haiti, instead of being drunk in the Dominican Republic, I came all the way from Pattaya Thailand, now in Miami headed for Haiti
