Cook them until a fork or knife slides all the way into them easily. Or cut one in half and you can see that it is cooked all the way through.
A little bit of salt in the water or salted afterwards or some real butter or cream on top makes all the difference.....
You know how to cook potatoes farmboy Andy. I am just answering because you posed the question.
