Little Blossom commented about The Culture Punishes for Asking Questions, On Saturday August 1st, 2009 07:07:20 AM

Men are not women, women are not men.

When both sides realize that we are totally different, different chemical makeup, different physical makeup, just down right different, then the world would be a better place.

This conversation is delving into more than just male and female. There is the physiological side, the chemical, physical and mental side of both male and female (even our brains are different!).

I have many more male friends than I do female friends, this is by choice. I find women very hard to understand, speaking as a woman, Im not difficult or hard to understand. Ive been called stoic, difficult, too in-depth, cold and even confrontational. Im none of these things (okay, maybe in-depth and stoic), its when someone tries to manipulate me that they use these negative words to describe me or twist the situation to their advantage. I dont let anyone validate my worth, whether it be male or female, and people will only treat you the way you allow them to treat you.

YOU give them permission to treat you this way, not vice versa.

So in essence, if you are stating that a woman is difficult, she is that way because you give her permission to be so. If you state a woman is a bitch, you choose to allow that behavior around you....period.

When youre on equal ground (which is difficult, because most men cannot fathom the idea of woman being on equal ground), what I mean about equal ground is a mutual understanding and agreement that you will treat each other with mutual respect, and that you wont tolerate certain behavior, then you can move forward in life.

Also, we (me and mine/family and friend) live by this motto:

Anyone can tell the truth, not everyone can handle hearing it. - Katchus

Dont ask me to put dog crap on a table, coat it with chocolate fudge and rainbow sprinkles and tell you to sit down, dig in and enjoy your hot fudge sundae. I wont lie to you and you had damn well better be prepared to hear the truth. I expect no less in return, if you dont meet these standards, then youre not ever going to get past the go line in my life.

People fling the words, love, friend, honor, etc around everyday, as if they are throw away words. If you happen to come across someone who does, run, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!

IMHO

Your T.G. has put her boundaries down, you have not violated those, therefore she must be intelligent!

Personally, I think youre just fishing for compliments and Im not taking the bait, you ol coot!

Anyone can see you on YouTube (you have just as many followers there).

My all time favorite (because it makes me laugh, thoughts of people trying to use U.S. plugs in other countries and most of our electronics run at 115 volts and 60 hz, most European countries run at 230 volts and the outlets are totally different).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-YCHnb7sak

There are four things I dont normally speak of, Sports (as I love my teams), Politics (dont try and feed me any b.s.), Religion (again, dont try to shove your beliefs down my throat, Ill respect you more if you dont), Personal relationships (married, children....etc).......

My husband is retired Navy, went in when he was 17 years young and retired with 20+ years. In that time he had the benefit of visiting other countries, taking pictures and enjoying brief moments in some amazing places. Weve been married for 20 years, and wonder where the time has gone. I love listening to his stories, perhaps thats why I visit this site so much, because in my minds eye, he and I will travel together and I want to get a feel of places that I can only visit currently via this site. Your site has assisted me with places I wont visit, might visit and have added to my must visit places.

p.s. Being a native Cali-girl, you could still pass for a beach bum with flying colors Andy!

Youve already answered your own question Do I want to live here for 3-5 months?

Are there any flowers blooming there (aside from the women)?

Flora and fauna, where is it?

Show me some other kind of beauty, whether it be the flora and fauna or something as simplistic as an historical building.

Where do you get your energy from? The people? Your surroundings? Beauty? Conversation with a stable native?

What would make you want to stay there for a week, month, much less 3-5 months?

Again, sometimes I end up with more questions than answers A.G.!

Just dont go licking the sidewalks during your taste of Baguio!

I had to smile, rather largely, when the first pictures were of the beautiful women (leave it to Andy!). My smile became even bigger when I laid eyes on the volleyball scene.

Thank you for sharing, its nice to see that you must be feeling somewhat better.

Without getting worked up over the political aspect of the comments, I just wanted to say:

I think there is some sort of conspiracy here with the blurry pictures of decent looking men you post and beautiful, colorful, sharp pictures of the women you post.

With that being stated, are you actually feeling any better?

Ive found myself asking more questions about these pictures, than there are apparently answers.

What are they seeking?

How many have been injured/killed doing this?

Where are the parents?

Yes, cultural clashes.

It reminds me of the visual aftermath of the Thailand tsunami in 2004.

Little Blossom commented about Saudi Employment for Filipinos, On Monday July 6th, 2009 07:02:58 AM

Andy,

As a freelancer at a particular site, young ladies/women just as this one are chosen by U.S. job posters for virtual work.

Why?

Because instead of choosing a V.A. freelancer who charges say, $10.00 - $13.00 per hour, these young ladies/women/men, will only charge $0.23 - $2.32 per hour for their work.

Do I think that U.S. job posters are abusing these people, in a way, yes I do. If they have the same skills as their counterparts in the U.S., why not pay them a solid wage for their work? Because, U.S. job posters can get away with it, and do.

The up side, these menial wages make the difference between feeding their family or going without food for a month at a time.

I wonder if she has computer skills, we have a lot of people in the Philippines who are V.A. providers.

Yet another reason why some dislike the U.S. IMHO

Little Blossom commented about Unemployment 2009, On Monday July 6th, 2009 06:37:02 AM

Percentages are only as good as the reported numbers, and I highly doubt that the numbers being reported are concise with the reality.

Beer consumption has not been reduced, if anything, its moving forward at an increase.

That along with the suicide rates in the U.S. But then again, are these numbers correct? Or are these stories told on the news for reasons beyond me?

Andy, when times are hard, the one thing you can count on is an increase in alcohol consumption. Do not fear!!

Starvation comes to us in many forms, however the form in which you speak of, from lack of nutritional consumption, can be found right here in the U.S.

Kentucky, Virginia, N and S Carolina, just to name a few, have starving children.

Then there are those cases of horrible abuse:

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/11/nyregion/11starve.html

I can only imagine the lack of static’s on such cases, because Ive been into the heart of Kentucky, and there are children there that dont have indoor plumbing, shoes or a closet full of clothes. They drink contaminated water from wells and some of them Ive encountered (dont know the stats!), dont even have a birth certificate! Their bellies look just like those of the children who live in Uganda, which is caused by malnutrition and stomach parasites.

Okay, Ill move on..........

BTW, if I dont know the answers to my questions about your posts Andy.....I research for myself.

Little Blossom commented about Doctor Thailand Orthopedic, On Tuesday June 30th, 2009 08:00:32 AM

A.G.

I have “mild” degeneration of my bones

Well since youre no spring chick, this is to be expected at some point with many people, seeing as the specialists claim its part of the aging process.

Our diets have changed considerably and even the specialists dont have a clue as to what really causes degenerative disc disease.

One word:

Jell-O

Why?

The gelatin in Jell-O is what lets you transform it into all sorts of different shapes. What exactly is gelatin? Gelatin is just a processed version of a structural protein called collagen that is found in many animals, including humans. Collagen actually makes up almost a third of all the protein in the human body. It is a big, fibrous molecule that makes skin, bones, and tendons both strong and somewhat elastic. As you get older, your body makes less collagen, and individual collagen fibers become cross linked with each other. You might experience this as stiff joints (from less flexible tendons) or wrinkles (from loss of skin elasticity).

This actually makes fingernails stronger and less apt to break (for us women).

Its the most cost effective way to address this health issue, IMHO.

You can actually purchase gelatin and mix it in your drinks and food.

I dont suggest this if youre a vegetarian.

For more information on the scientific explanation on gelatin, you can visit:

PMs will allow readers to be better informed.
Why would you need to use PMs to be better informed?

Hide the email address.
Just dont put it there when posting.

Is there a fear of readers being offended by the material thats being posted?
And how can the reader be better informed, if the material that is being shared is in PMs (private messages)?

Some questions are better thought, rather than spoken.

As far as your back pain, you couldnt be in a better location for a heated, herbal compress or Tao Thai Therapeutic Treatment.

Also, inspecting the belly......ewww

The more I read, the more I confirm my non-questionable reasoning for not swimming in a public pool.

Its all questionable to me.

Hmmm....herniated disk = sciatic nerve pain, but there are other conditions that could be putting pressure on your sciatic nerve. Im not sure what the nodule has to do with it however, I know that sciatica is painful.

Perhaps if you could make it to France, then you would get free and excellent medical services, plus I hear they have some very pretty nurses over there.........just hope you dont run into Nurse Ratched

If Mr. McMurphy doesnt want to take his medication orally, Im sure we can arrange that he can have it some other way. But I dont think that he would like it.

Observations do not contain knowledge, we all have perception and each is different. This perception distorts ones observations of the others.

I have to wonder how many people converse with many words, yet just dont get the meaning of the conversation.

Are they just speaking to hear themselves or to debate? Are they really listening to what is being said?

I look around me when this happens and want to be somewhere else perhaps in the canopy of the Rain Forest....with rare birds, I can just listen to and watch.

What happened to the art of conversation?

In the end, only this exact moment in time truly matters....that is my opinion, my observation.

I think Ill go talk to my feathered friends now... gt)

Thank you for sharing your words, emotions, pictures and the truth with those of us who enjoy reading about your journey.

Laughter, sorrow, beauty, weariness, all of these emotions pour out onto the screen.

Your comment is a question Ive often asked myself, as Im sure many of us have:
I have been through this emotional roller coaster many times. Every person is different, I know when my energy is being drained, and I know ways to restore my energy. I often walk away from a person and ask myself,
“Does this person give me energy or am I weaker?”

May you find the pieces of your puzzle while on your journey.
