I've been reading your blog for a while and I don't find the lack of a picture distracting. If you spend some time to read your posts then your personality comes out. The problem is that first 30 seconds when someone visits your site. A picture could help in the initial connection stage, get past that and they'll be hooked like the rest of the regulars.

Personally I'd rather not have your picture here as it won't add anything for me and the security issues mentioned. For a first time visitor, I think it would help.

Personally, I prefer the term "man satchel" but that might just be me. I do carry a small one and it is basically a purse regardless of what anyone says.

Andy,

I'm not British and I meant no offense. I quite enjoy your observations on backpacks and your design efforts.

It just seemed that the simplicity of the design did everything that the school children need and it did quite a few things that would be needed in a traveler's pack. I think it was the National Geographic pack that you mentioned last that seemed to fail your criteria last, I thought the parallels were interesting.

At any rate I genuinely think the backpacks pictured are snazzy in the simplicity of their design and I have to respect that.

Those backpacks are pretty snazzy. No outside pockets for thieves to get into. I can't see if you can lock them though. Did the design please you a little bit?

I'm curious; what need does a hobo have for a lightbulb?

I don't even like shopping in my country, I don't understand some people. I do like to absorb a bit of the culture such as the food, places and customs but shopping as a travel destination but doesn't do a thing for me.

I visited Korea on business and everything did seem to revolve around shopping. On my last day some big wig wanted to take me shopping, I asked to go to a grocery store as I find those interesting. We went to some touristy shopping area instead; there were no grocery stores.

I just don't understand that bit, maybe the city dwellers just really like to shop but I would have been much happier at grocery store.

grahamstravelblog commented about Worlds Best Airport Baggage Cart, On Sunday September 21st, 2008 08:44:00 PM

I did enjoy using these carts when I was in Korea and the ones I used seemed to be in good repair. I'm surprised every time I see free carts available when traveling abroad, that's a terrible sign of how things are in the states.

There is a cart out there, I think I saw it in Germany, that has a brake that is engaged until you squeeze the handle bar. I think I like that design better as it won't roll off on you.
