Hi Andy enjoy your storys,just returned from guatamala ...was a great trip..saw all the prossesions in antigua..my friend got pickpocketed ...his fualt ... anyways ..do you ever get travellers diarrea I always do and have to take a TREDA a day the best dierrea medicin I have ever found only available in mexico.I try to stay away from street food and always drink bottled water. as soon as I get home all is better sometimes I wonder if it is just the stress of travling in an unknown place .....anybody else have this problem.Den

Seems like a real pain to take a car or ride a bike through africa ,europe or south america dealing with corrupt police ,border guards,having to get visa,s,carnet de passag licences ,extra costs ect...ect..seems hey like to discourage tourism....not like crossing form canada to the states just drive through state approx how long you are staying anyways have you looked at some websites like adventurrider.com people riding motorcycles or bikes around the world ...thats my dream someday.....just do small local trips around van island and b.c. alberta for now....would like to try the baha south america trip...by motorcycle.....Den

I found two ways to do it ether just carry on a small bag with the most essentials like medications, passports,laptop camera,and check a larger bag for both me and my wife,with te shampoo soap liquids or two smaller ones with mixed clothes in case one gets lost.And if it does no big deal just buy a few tee shirts at the other end.I have a combo backpack that has hidden shoulder straps and also has rollers and a pull out handle for easy rolling around the airports.another idea I have been thinking about is getting a hard bag roller for check in but not too expensive in case it gets lost I always get old bags from second hand stores here lots of choice and cheap..Den

I tie a red ,orange or yellow surveyers tape or any caution tape to my bag to recognize it in the luggage carrosell.
